  • The back hatch switch on my 2014 Nissan Pathfinder broke. The Shop said it would cost me $300 plus labor to fix. I was able to fix it for $20

This is the only video on CZcams that was useful in fixing my 2016 version. Thanks so much! Very helpful

Mine had come loose so temporarily. I have used hot melt glue or thermoplastic to glue it into place. And it still works quite frankly for a 2019 the switch seems worn On the surface.
The only problem I can see with a aftermarket switch is mine takes two bumps on switch to open hatch.
I have 2 wires connecting it, I presume they go to the plug in under the cover.
You can buy rocker switches as well.
Mine does not open hatch with key fob.
There are no buttons to push to release the hatch up front on dash board.
So I'm presuming a simple actuator would work.
I have a base model I suppose, but compared to base model trucks this one has a lot of upgrades. Camera, radar, full entertainment screen so I'm pleased with it, all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive would have been great

Some plastic cracked/broke on my 2016 causing the switch to get pushing in from one side, also the chrome part has been loose on one side for several months now, and one plate light goes out but comes back on after being tapped… my backhatch needs some attention…

Why couldn't you just direct wire a bump switch from the auto part store

Where did you get part from? Exact thing on mine broke

Is it possible to just remove the part from outside(chrome one) and the glue it back?

You saved a lot, but we laughed so much from the 3-stooges with a 1-stooge escapade that we needed medical attention. ...Next time, don't go out on a windy day, connect a good mike, have someone help you holding a camera and plan before the video starts ... 8-)

I wish I had the ability to pre-plan stuff like this better, but a lot of the time it just has to happen when I can. Glad you found it funny, I try to make it funny and informative but sometimes it just doesn't land. 😁

Well, just simple things (like a helper or a good, properly focused and directed camera nearby with decent sound and no wind) are basics. Perhaps on any future endeavors, they will be addressed and problems hence eliminated. 8-)

Honestly with how many problems I had with this Nissan suv I sold it and bought a different brand and I don't plan on going back

Yes it would have, sadly I forgot and by the time I remembered it was during editing while I was on the road. A lot of my videos end up rushed because of my work schedule and reshoots are often off the table. This was the best I could do at the time between 14hr shifts, class A driving really sucks timewise. Hopefully I blured it well enough while still showing the important parts of the project.

  • @1234tellmewhatyourlookingfor

I'm not being sarcastic. I have the same problem and cannot see any reason why a actuator switch would be not the same thing

Could be just me but Nissan's seam to have an awful lot of mechanical problems.

For about 7 years there you could not find a Nissan of good quality. I don't know if they're any better now because I sold my 2016 and I've not bought a new Nissan since
