      Depends on where you go. I went to Oaxaca and Mexico City during the summer. I had a guide on a food tour in M. City - no issues. In Oaxaca the crime rate is very low. If you go to places near the border or around resorts its more dangerous.

      About 60 million tourists visiting Mexico 🇲🇽 in 2023 . I lived in the US for almost 28 years, now I living in north Mexico For almost 6 years and I never heard any single shot or saw someone getting into a single fight . I love ❤️ to live in here , less stress and lifestyle is very good and cheaper 🎊

    Used to go to Caliente to gamble on sports teams. It was a straight walk there and back from the crossing. I asked one of the guys if they were worried about being in MX with lots of money? They said no because the cartel owned the place and we were protected as long as we didn’t go anywhere else after because we were being watched. Last time I went there

    In the late 70s I lived in Imperial Beach, CA, which is right on the coast about five miles north of the Mexican border. My step mother had cancer and would drive down into Tijuana for her chemo because it was much cheaper. Often I would go with her. Thank God these cartels weren't doing that kidnapping shit back then. Or at least but that I know of. We never once had any problem down there. In fact, I loved going down there as a kid. Now I wouldn't go down there if you paid me.

In short it wasn't them getting caught in the crossfire at all it was a targeted hit due to mistaken identity and the cartel thinking her friends where part of a rival Haitan gang.

    Damn the real moral is make sure u get a literal gated guarded resort! Like Xcaret occidental! It took me 6 days to convince my ppl to leave the resort and go into tulum,or where ever 5th Avenue is! When the cab driver asked where i wanted to go n i said 5th Avenue, i got a double look and then she said " your fuckin crazy" 😂 had the best time of my life!!! Musta been February 2022!

    Visited the Yucatan Peninsula for the first time this summer 2023. Traveling solo, clearly a tourist, I have felt safe on every beach, every town, village, favela's and seen quite a few cartel blacked out SUV's. Just be respectful, don't point fingers or phones. They know by now that tourists bring wealth to the community and are to be left alone.

    I have worked and travelled around south eastern parts of Mexico. Met up with a lot of amazing Mexicans, food is top class, beautiful scenery, cleanest of beaches, people are very helpful, and i would love to return. Respect the people and their culture. Just need to possess common sense, UNDERSTAND the do's and dont's, and you will be fine. The cartels have their enemies and it certainly isnt the law abiding tourist. ❤

    Lessons learned do your research on the crime rate of the area you’re going to visit. Don’t call the police on someone in a foreign country. Don’t haggle or try to cut corners in a foreign country. Don’t trust anyone in a foreign country & be aware of your surroundings.

    I’ve visited Mexico on multiple occasions. Never once felt in danger. Alot of the time it’s where you go and who you hang with. Same thing usa. I spent a week in saint Luis over by fergerson and let me tell you I felt much more danger in that city than I ever did in Tijuana

    Before I go visit my family in Matamoros they make it so I get there safe in and out. I’m lucky to have such a big family over there, I always hear stories and see videos but til this day haven’t witnessed anything bad in person. But here in Chicago I’m carrying my 57🤣can’t even walk around without running into b.s all the damn time💀
