Yess...I'm so sad about! She was such a beautiful "Redhead" as She start her Cariere, but first Hollywood doesn't like her original Hair-Color.. So She became "blond" - as all Actresses...blond, blond, blond...always the same boring colored blond...
I know why, because I'm a very "lightful" Redhead, too! And I was treated really bad ...because our Haircolor has a stupid "sexuell" Image..
But I never change my Haircolor - I fight for all People/esp.Women with Red Hair!
But also I'm not an Actor, my Job has nothing to do with Movies

I just watched The Northman and came here to find out what happened. I couldn't believe what her face looked like in some scenes, especially the ones lit by candlelight. It's not that she's aging - we're all used to seeing aging faces and it doesn't feel weird. It's that strange Uncanny Valley that excessive plastic surgery puts people in, like a clone. It's affecting their acting abilities too because the expressions feel so unnatural.
Her hair is so 90s. That straight look on her is bad. She is becoming a caricature of Nicole Kidman that I loved no matter what.
Yes, I don't understand that she gets roles. I cannot tell a single expression from her face. Just weird.

As a woman, I know how much we all want to look young and beautiful. As a result, we will try to hold on to our youth as long as possible. However, at some point I think we should all be grateful and just grow old gracefully and not trying so hard to the point we don't look natural anymore.
Or we can find Cher's plastic surgeon. :)

There's no such thing as aging gracefully. That's just a statement people make for meaning "not having work done." In show business, it can mean losing jobs, lost income, no product endorsement gigs, etc. It's their business to look a certain way. The entertainment business isn't about looking like you and I do. Altho if you're a superstar who has aged, there are some good roles for you, even written for you, so you don't want to, or have to, look younger, once you're passed the age at getting younger roles. Like Meryl Streep. Even then, tho, they likely have procedures done to look the best version of themselves. Joan Rivers said anyone in the film business over the age of 25 has had work done. ("work" doesn't necessarily mean surgery) Look at Dolly Parton, who has had so much "work" (incl surgery) done, that the procedures probably can't be counter. She would not have become the superstar legend she is without it. No doubt about it. Starting w/her chest.
That's probably true, but these "superstars" are in a completely different category. They are constantly on stage, in the public eye, and have the money for the surgeries. I just have a feeling their "psyche" must be completely different.
It's all comes down to choices. People have plastic surgery not because they have to, but they want to. Hollywood have many famous people that are still themselves. Still famous, still have many movies.... their roles adjuste according to their age. For example,
Julia Roberts, Meryl Streep, Kate Winslet, Rachel Weisz, Salma Hayek, Brooke Shields, Julianne Moore, Isabella Rossellini, Sigourney Weaver, Dame Judi Dench, just to name a few.
Therefore, everything we do or not do is all choices. I'm not against or encourage plastic surgery. Some people may feel pressure and think they have to get plastic surgery done in order to maintain their popularity. But the truth is, it's all in their head.
It's so sad to see someone so beautiful get destroyed by poorly done surgeries, all because women can't have a career in Hollywood without looking constantly youthful and "filtered." It's even more depressing because these things also destroy young girls' ideas of themselves, making them think everyone else looks airbrushed naturally and they're the only ones who look "flawed" (aka human).
It's not just poorly done surgeries, some have went to expert surgeons and it doesn't make them look any better, they all look the same, plastic.
makes me feel better about not being able to afford any cosmetic inhancement surgeries, seeing beautiful people end up so awful looking. id be so mad if i got something done and it made me uglier😢😅
Nah, it's not poorly done surgeries, but overdone surgeries. At some point you need to stop and understand that you're old and need to just age like a normal person instead of tripling down.
I think some of these women internalize standards of beauty that aren't real. There are plenty of women who age gracefully and are attractive or even hot past 50. I think there's a culture of fear in Hollywood that leads these actresses to get work done way past the point where it makes sense or makes them look better than they otherwise would. It comes down to a lot of these women internalizing a self image that is unrealistic.
She was ‘cute’ in her 20’s but never beautiful imo. She looked fine and still does. Yes she’s had work done but it hasn’t ‘destroyed’ or anything

She got a new lease on life and looks.....cycle number two coming up......boob lift......next, probably did that a long time ago. She went through one pregnancy so tummy tuck and maybe butt tuck ? it is not just the face that gets improved....the rest of the body follows. It is all under the microscope. I wonder how they manage not ending up with addictions to pain pills. These procedures have to be painful.....Ouch !!!!! the vanity makes it all bearable.

Maybe. However, she still looks lovely. She’s in her mid-fifties. She would also be “almost unrecognizable “ if she had never done anything along the way. I feel like people judge some cosmetic procedures with unrealistic expectations. it would be nice if all procedures could just magically make you look the same as you did 10-15 years ago but more often the procedures do make you look younger or fresher but not exactly like you looked in the past. It’s so much more noticeable on celebs unfortunately.
For me the only reason it was obvious she had a facelift recently was how wide and stretched the corners of her lips are now, reaching out towards the sides of her face. I've heard people calling this 'puppet mouth'. Just so surprised you didn't mention it. I noticed the same thing on Kristin Davis (Charlotte from Sex & the City). It just looks so obvious and distracting I can't take it seriously. I hope you don't do this to people in your practice
Yes, it's true. I was absolutely horrified when I saw Kristin Davis in the latest SITC film, that description of 'puppet mouth' that you mention is spot on. She didn't look like herself at all, and I was very sad to the very lovely and so talented Nicole Kidman get that look as well.

In a previous video, the Doctor referred to this "feature" as sometimes called "The Joker's Mouth/Smile" and a sign of multiple facelifts ( obviously worsening with each procedure).

The EXCESSIVE fillers in her face are quite obvious even to layman's eyes.
He did mention filler. He talked about lip filler and then said she started getting a lot of cheek filler in 2010. He's right. It wasn't excessive before that time.

I'm not a medical professional, so I rarely can spot a particular procedure, but a surgically altered face often just 'reads wrong' to me. In "It's Complicated," Steve Martin looked like someone had put his face in a microwave and melted it down into an expressionless mask; fillers, probably.
But I digress. In the last thing I saw Nicole Kidman in, The Undoing (2020), she looked all kinds of wrong, and was hard to watch. Lip filler up to Jesus, and I thought maybe a chin implant, as her jaw line was so unnatural.
I watch a lot of Korean dramas these days, and Seoul is arguably a plastic surgery mecca. It's becoming increasingly difficult for me to watch people who have had a lot of surgery. My esthetic is: "I'd rather look like I needed it, then look like I had it."

I totally agree. Watching Nicole's recent movies and TV shows, it's always been hard for me to not focus on her facial features and wonder what she'd had done because the changes are so blatant. Having said that, I think she's a phenomenal actress (The Undoing was crap though lol) and an exceptional beauty. Aging for an A-list actress of her generation must be super difficult so I hope she takes it easy and doesn't go overboard.

I'm Australian. I remember seeing Nicole in the 80's in BMX Bandits. She was an unknown actress, very skinny, with curly red hair and a traditional Aussie accent. Today, she is miles away from her humble beginnings and has crafted her accent to sound cultured.
And no curls. I miss her curls. that straight hair on her is so aging.

After years of living abroad and working in the US it's totally normal for her to lose her accent. It happens to everyone living away from their home.

I have quite hooded eyes already at 30. I really like seeing other people who have/ had hooded eyes around my age. I find that seeing the beauty in others with hooded eyes helps to remind me that I'm beautiful, too.
Hooded eyes are beautiful. They convey a sultry mystery. I'm so bored of seeing the typical Instagram-type eyes, where the entire eyelid is fully visible and contoured around the eye socket, with a large space between the eyelid crease and the eyebrow. Yawn. Boring.
The real cost is the loss of her natural beauty.

Have to disagree with you here doc.. Watch Dead calm and you will see her nose was very upturned, eyes very hooded and she was covered in freckles. She started her surgeries right after that.

I don't know how articles and videos about her face changes always ignore this. I'm surprised he missed that nose job and tons of filler. Her sister has the same upturned nose she used to have. Her skin isn't all natural as freckles were removed. Not farfetched to assume she had other skin resurfacing procedures done too. Her cheeks were full early on but not high cheekbones or else she wouldn't keep putting these fillers that give her that stretched cat look.
She was gorgeous in Dead calm.
I think plastic surgery can become an addiction for some people. It doesn't help that our society is so obsessed with perfection and what many people forget is that perfection is an illusion.

My intentions are to be respectful with what I'm about to say, but I wouldn't have casted her in "The Northman" (2022). Reason being that the film obviously takes place in a time period where plastic surgery doesn't exist and it lowkey stuck out to me the entire film, especially in the scene where her face is being illuminated by fire during the night.
Then a lot of people couldn't be cast in that film 😂😂😂😂
People get cast because of their acting skills and sometimes because of their looks.

I'm 69 and all natural. Bald, etc.,, But I stay in shape and am happy for my health.
So comforting to know that us normal people don’t feel so bad about ourselves anymore.
If you feel bad about yourself, a shrink is what you need and not a plastic surgeon. Self esteem is not what is offered with these surgeries, but a look in the mirror you may enjoy. No plastic surgeon can give you self esteem and they avoid people who have that problem . They are never happy......
Thank you for putting this channel out there! I truly enjoy being educated about facial plastic surgeries! I managed ophthalmology practices general and then pediatric for 16+ years. I then “graduated” to general & vascular surgery and also was certified as a tech with both specialties. I found them to be fascinating, but secretly always wished that I had worked for a cosmetic surgeon! You fill that void because I’m a sponge for knowledge so much that I’m going for my master’s in psychology at 66 yrs young. Thank you for your channel and your awesome content! it was the series 'the undoing' that was most disturbing, I enjoyed watching the plot unfold but was constantly reminded of what a mess Kidman's face has become, she looked like Jack Nicolson's riddler in the older batman movies.

And yes, terrifying chin fillers in Undoing era, the chin gained like 2 fingers in height over years 🙁
Yeah you get a really good look at it in that scene where she's sitting on the cliff with Melissa McCarthy, the wind blows her hair off her face and you see her jawline and tragus/lobes, It looks totally unnatural and very obvious she's had a full facelift. I did a rewind a few times just to look closer, It was freaky

I think she started using a little filler by the late 90s. Her top lip was naturally very thin and much thinner than her lower lip. By this time they start to appear more even in proportion. It seems obvious she had a facelift by the time she filmed The Undoing. There were a lot of close ups and her skin is amazing but not normal for someone of her age. You knew something was different but it was hard to tell what. A lot of people commented on it at the time. In the episode of 9 Perfect Strangers in that scene where she's sitting on the cliff with Melissa McCarthy, the wind blows her hair off her face and you get a good look at her jawline tragus/ lobes, It looks totally unnatural and very obvious she's had a full facelift.
Yes she had a very top lip and what happened to all her freckles, even then she never had lovely smooth skin now even her nose looks finer, being Australian myself I saw her in the early stages of her career. She probably has abrasion to her skin and plenty of botox and fillers. Don't want to sound horrible but being in the fame game she would have had to..

Look at Goldie Hawn; she never was beautiful but she was sooo cute. After she had her face all chopped up she is simply horrific looking. Same goes for Meg Ryan; what a living doll she was until she chopped up her face then ran into hiding.

@@judegirl7607 I think Meg Ryan looks good. The doctor(s) obviously made mistakes w/Goldie Hawn. That's the danger of surgery. At least fillers fade away. Surgery doesn't. I'm sure Hawn was pretty upset at the results. Could be she had corrective surgery that made it worse, even. There's something wrong w/one of her eyes, I think I noticed. Her eyes were her trademark. Looks like her surgeon screwed up. So sad. But at least she's married to someone who loves her for who she is. She's also gained weight, which I never thought she would because she was naturally so thin. Kirk's gained a lot of weight himself! Meh...they're immensely wealthy, have had superstar careers, so I guess it doesn't matter. They can do what they want, go skiing, travel, and not worry about what they look like any more.
They don’t look good. All I see is a face full of plastic and injections that looks totally unnatural. I don’t think “Oh, she looks beautiful “. I think “WOW, look at all the surgery she’s had done!.”
I always considered NIcole Kidman a beautiful woman and a great actress. The loss of expression in her face because of Botox, fillers, etc, makes her unwatchable now.

I can’t watch her anymore either. Even in her more recent miniseries Nicole’s face won’t move. She compensates with flashing eyes and vocal drama. But her face, an actor’s primary tool, has become a frozen mask. Sad that women are pressured to do this kind of self-mutilation in order to have a career. The exception has been Meryl Streep, whose work has been done with a very light hand. Meryl still has all her acting tools.
I thought her face always appeared frozen. The upper lip and the filler on the cheeks is what makes her look weird, to me.
Her face is more natural now. The Botox wears off eventually. I think she said she stopped getting it. Thank goodness.
I agree. I saw her on (I think it was) Graham Norton and when she laughed not a muscle or anything moved in her facial expression. So sad that she feels the need to do this.
I remember a famous model /tv host about 20 years ago, on tv telling people on a show that Nicole has extremely short hair and uses wigs. She was showed a room of all these wigs that she used.
Nice video, well explained, thank you. Just one comment, also applicable to other videos: once Nicole started botox, it is obvious that she kept using it regularly, while it is only mentionned once in the video.
You forgot to mention the veneers on her teeth. The difference between her natural, slightly receding teeth in 2008 (which I think are very attractive) and the straight white teeth she sports by 2010 is marked.
Exactly what I was here to say. Her smile was so natural and charming early on, but later she just ended up with giant, generic chicklet teeth like everyone else in Hollywood. And her face is so frozen and lumpy with filler tha I had actually forgotten what she looked like in the early days!
Cosmetic teeth !!!! Seems like all entertainers are wearing dental implants. The perfections of these teeth is mind boggling. Better than rotten teeth !
She also had that surgery where they cut up inside your mouth so that when you smile you don't see too much gums anymore. That's something that veneers and lip filler cannot cover 100%.

Learning how to wear make up as you get older makes a huge difference. Too much dark eyeliner on the lower lid makes you look hard and draws the eyes down. Also, matching concealer helps. Drink lots of water to keep your skin hydrated.

I remembered when she won her Oscar in 2003. To me she looked terrible! Her hair style was also awful! It was tightly pulled back with that huge forehead that happens with alot of actresses with all the hair color and styles! The last time I tuned in to see her was that HBO series, can't remember the name. She was wearing a red wig with bangs. Not her best look, but it was a series after all. I do hope she stops the surgery. After a certain age so many women by their 50's cannot continue....
My dream is for a celebrity to make a response video and debunk or confirm each suspected procedure. Oo and give us the real total cost, too!

@@drgarylinkov The actress who played the wife of Tim Allen on 'Home Improvement' was brutally honest about what all she had done to her face and body. I believe she called out a bunch of other celebrities for their plastic surgeries that they never owned up to. I don't remember if she gave prices though. This was all before social media. That Heidi chick from 'The Hills' and Donna D'Errico of 'Baywatch' fame, have also been very honest about what all they've had done. Donna looks the most incredible of all celebrities who've had as much done as she has had. She looks very natural AND young, when she's in her 50s!!!

I've followed her changes over the years. I thought she was her most beautiful in her 30s but after her face had thinned out some. As someone that had a full face in my teens and 20s, I preferred losing some of that. I've always found her to be beautiful. I saw some people saying they had never had skin problems such as acne. Others said they have never had a single anti-aging procedure done and get constant compliments on how young they look. To all of you, I say that that is great, but that doesn't necessarily mean you deserve a pat on the back for your good work. Genetics, environment and health issues (or lack thereof) may have had a part in that. Heck, dumb luck could too. NK changed her appearance because she wanted to and if it made her feel more beautiful, then that's great. For most of her life (minus the excess botox for a little while there), she hasn't made extreme changes (until the most recent ones). I can't imagine the pressures she faces as an actress in her 50s. Kudos to her for taking pride in her appearance no matter what she does.
I think she looks beautiful. She backed off some fillers, but she has had nice work done.
I think you approach it from an angle that doesn't take into account the fact that those pressures are unethical. Bending to the pressures to the point that you get stuck under the knife is not positive. It is not a failure of morality, but it is not a cause for celebration, either. It is a cause for awareness. Celebrities affect culture when they do things like this, and it doesn't affect society in a positive way.
What pressure is she feeling exactly? She has made it to the top, has more money than she needs, and a successful career behind her. She is no longer in her prime. She should be happy and content and accepting of her age. "Pressure" is a thing she should not be feeling, if she's healthy and happy. It's a bit greedy to expect to continue being a world famous beauty and a top movie star in the same way you were in your 20s and 30s.

I've noticed that she started looking a bit strange and lost some of her extraordinary youthful beauty (but more than just aging), although she's still beautiful! It's okay to have a few wrinkles in the forehead and for your eyes to be expressive. But when your face is on a 20-foot screen in high definition color, I guess I'd freak out over a few wrinkles and sags, too. She's still beautiful and an extraordinary talent. And seems such a lovely, sweet person.

She also had obviously weird chin fillers during Pretty Little Liars. She looked gorgeous I think in season 1 but in Season 2 her chin filler was very distinct.

@@donnab8345 Yeah, I actually would because I’m in a similar situation. My husband is a physician whose practice includes offering fillers and Botox. Practically everyone in the whole county comes to him because he has such a good reputation for not over filling and for making people look as natural as possible. I’m constantly under people’s eye and though my husband has never pressured me, I do feel the pressure to look youthful because of how other women act. Still, I’m not doing it, especially seeing how Nicole has turned out. She has access to the best surgeons in the business and she still didn’t know when to stop. Chasing youth is a race no one will win. I’m not getting caught in that trap. I’d rather look in the mirror and see wrinkles than look like an alien and all of them that chase youth end up looking like an alien. You can’t have it both ways.
She is not aging well. I saw her in The Undoing and wondered what had happened to her face. She is not looking younger, she just looks like she had work done.
If she continues, she is going to look like Kim Novak who went from beautiful to puppet face.
Her last surgery really shocked me. It changed her whole face and not for the best.
The photo in 2022 at the end of the clip, her ears look very large. I dont think they were before all these treatments she has had. Now she will have wear her hair to disguise the size of them.
Where does this all stop. She is going to look odder if she keeps doing this stuff. Look what happened to Joan Rivers after to maany surgeries.

Dr. Gary I love your channel and I'm excited someone's finally covered Nicole in a timeline format, but I find it hard to believe she's had so 'little' done overall, like half-decades at a time without any procedures - I think she's gone through too much of a metamorphosis over the years. On the other hand, she seems to always look more or less like 'herself' (or pretty close) by the time movie or TV roles come around, so perhaps you are right and she's had less done than I think.
I think she got more than was pointed out in video, she definitely had a lot of filler, she also got veneers later on which will make lower face seem more fuller, youthful. Younger while smiling she had a lot of gum showing but later on none, it could be because of veneers but more likely it was botox.
Lots of Botox in the 90’s. That super smooth almost shiny looking forehead and the lid overhang as everything relaxed.
@@m.theresa1385 I don't know about botox in the 90s. I doubt it actually. I could believe she didn't start that until the 2000s. But, I personally believe she had at minimum one nose job - two, if I had to guess, which Dr. Gary doesn't mention. She might not have touched her distinctive cleft that Gary pointed out, but I think other parts of her nose subtly shrunk or changed over the years. I think it's especially changed in 3/4 view compared to her youth.

surprised you did not mention the definite chin implant, visible in all her recent work. and even a possible jaw implant. to me the entire lower part of her face looks very stretched but also bigger, which leads me to believe she got a facelift and chin/jaw implants. why they would do that to her is beyond me. the chin looks very pointy and unnatural and she had great bone structure already. totally unnecessary and strange.
If you watched the video the doctor explains that she has always had an exaggerated jawline, and shows that in her earliest photos. I find it hard to believe she would have had a jaw implant to exaggerate it even further. It's possible that as she's aging the jaw structure is changing.

The surgeon doesn’t even acknowledge the drastic change of Nicole Kidman‘s mouth. When she first came on the scene, she showed a lot of gum when she smiled and had a turned up nose. Over the years the gummy smile disappeared and her nose and upper lip became much closer. How is this achieved?
I think it's called a gingivectomy (the gingiva is the tissue above the teeth). Possibly the muscle in the upper lip area is severed, released or something (I'm not a doctor!).
Nicole is incredibly beautiful but, more important, she is a brilliant, gifted actor. Although she is certainly famous, she is underrated for her incredible acting ability.

I think these videos are fascinating and appreciate the expert knowledge Dr. Linkov shares. I naively thought these actors were just gifted with perfect features but clearly many of them made changes at the start of their careers. Whatever the case, I feel sorry for those with long careers who endure such pain to remain relevant in Hollywood only to resemble mannequins in the end.

No god...no say it ain't so... She was beautiful... Her in moulin rouge still makes me cry to this day she deserved a Oscar for that movie she was so stunning... Why do these beautiful people not just let themselves age natural like regardless of surgery you will age and most surgeries don't age well.

@@afinnimore1 there are a few pics online where you can see the pulling on the sides of her face, just look up before and after. I understand why women do it, but wish they didn't. I believe Andie Macdowell and Cameron Diaz both have avoided work (and both have lovely wrinkles!). There are a few more actresses who've avoided it and it's pretty obvious once you compare anyone of the same age to say Nicole here, to them and what most 50 something's look like! Personally I prefer Nicole's untouched face best, but I like variety and find the homogenisation of faces that's happening with more extreme surgery really dull!

I’ve always found her beautiful and even more important, she’s very talented. It’s her forehead that got many of us talking some years ago. I am her age, and while it’s not easy going from a young face to an old one , I think when we do too much we not only no longer look like ourselves , but often quite odd. I get a tiny bit of Botox and filler in my lips due to very thin lips. Otherwise , micro needling. I prefer pretty natural with a tweak. Nicole still looks great but she for sure has had some major work done.
Her skin is amazing, she never had a single pimple nor hyperpigmentation
She had a lot of freckles that she has erased , also her skin is very thin that is why she has had that many facelifts and fillers, she is gorgeous but I don't wish her skin at all.

Melissa Gilbert supposedly hasn’t done a lot. She admitted she started then basically said, nope. No more. Shelly Long doesn’t seem to have done a thing. Candace Cameron Bere. Is that her last name? What has she done? Jamie Lee Curtis is suppose to be natural. Or, Julia Roberts.

I remember her playing some doctor, brain surgeon character in 'Days of Thunder' with Tom Cruise. But the age she was at the time she would have just been graduating college. There's no way she would have gone through medical school and residency to be his doctor at that young of an age unless her character was like Doogie Howser, M,D.. So, obviously she was playing an older character when she was still very young.
She admits to her cosmetic fillers threads and Botox. She also uses fillers often to change her facial features to fit characters she’s been cast as.
She had a “ Botox addiction” that froze her face at one time and she started backing off on her heavy use of doing things to her face and started focusing on her skin care. She’s never been in the sun without heavy sunblocks on and uses gentle cleaners and moisturizers.
In real life if you meet her she looks like an actual goddess but behaves like the most down to her gracious kind human I’ve had the honor to be on a film set with.She is still breathtaking and looks perfect with her gentle aging. I’m here to strongly defend her, I’ll fight you….🤣

I've seen her in a lot of interviews, and although she's on camera, she does seem to be a genuinely beautiful person inside (and out). So talented, too. One of the best actresses around. I think it's so good that she got away from Tom Cruise, leaving her free to find someone like Keith Urban, who seems to truly love her.
