Very well said. It might have made more sense for Cawls great work to be the streamlining of Knight design and production rather than the Primaris Marines.
We don't realy know what exactly the chokepoints of the heavy weapon production of the imperium are. If we are talking about extremely rare materials and such his work with the primaris might have been the wiser choice. The imperium has uncountable ammounts of potential space marines but I seriously doubt they have the ressources to just build unprecedented armies of knights.
I think the Imperial knight lords, have to be one of my favorite ideas about chivalry in the lore.
