Great stuff Sasha !!!
Are you recording direct ?? if so thats impressive man !!!!
@@FretJunkies thanks mate!! No that's into my amp through the Boss TAE! 🤘
yes
* all you need is fuzz 🎵
Sasha, you never cease to amaze with the content man! Whether it's the stellar playing or leaving manual bloopers in I'm always entertained. Thank you!
Thanks so much for your kind words man!
Thanks for the fuzz uploads. Couldn't be more happier with the demonstration and performance.
Just wanted to let you know that I love this video and have watched it a million times. Very educational for folks gettin g into fuzz. Thanks!
Thanks a ton for taking the time to write this!!
Absolutely amazing video. Maybe the best group of fuzz pedals every assembled and played with beautiful dynamics on CZcams. Vibes of Hendrix, Beck, Ronson…Well done sir…. 🤘🏼Dominion takes the cake for me even though I think the MK I Tone Bender is the best or second best fuzz of all time. I think some of Hendrix’s modded Fuzz Face pedals from 1970 take the cake for best fuzz tone, especially during Machine Gun Live at The Fillmore Isle of Wight and at Norman, Ok. Those are the best I’ve ever on record with the solos during Machine Gun at Isle of Wight taking the No. 1 spot. If I could have that pedal with those Marshall’s along with the Uni-Vibe I would never need another pedal.
thanks brother! some pretty dope company there man!! ... glad youre diggin the RDS
I absolutely love it!!
Great video! Really like that your guitar and furniture match.
Only way I can keep that much guitars in the living room 🤣
Great video. Dominion and IoT Tonebender sounds magic to me.
This video is why I bought a Thorpy Field Marshal. I'd like to suggest Seeker Effects. They are beautiful inside and out and might push a few of those pedals out of the top 10 😊.
cv7003 is fantastic! Pure early Hendrix fuzz tones and best cleanup ever.
The Isle of Tone pedals are nice, but overpriced...$999 for one pedal? No thanks!
I've waited for this video😍awesome!!!
🤘🤘🤘🤘
i came for the third stone but stayed for the playing , just awesome ,for me the last 3 were the best of the best , That tone bender was to my ears Amazing, out of all 10 which would you say cleans up the best ? I want to go right to the source without spending thousands and having to resale. I have to say i didnt hear a bad tone out of any of these , Killer video , Thanks
Whoa, this is way too good. Killer.
The Thorpy was probably the best sounding of the lot.
That said, I wouldn't trade my EQD Data Corrupter for any or all of them.
Interesting fuzz comparison demo, though.
I bought the Thorpyfx :) Adrian lives in my county and I’ve met him, nice guy with enthusiasm! makes it special for me that his stuff is made here in Wiltshire :)
Great great review and wonderful playing! ISOT Tone bender blows me away. Besides, how can you recording this without radio interference?
I only really notice radio interference on some silicon fuzz faces with the volume turned down!
That`s again(!) such a cool video!!!!!
Thanks buddy! ❤️
Cool video but can you play your strat in bridge position please??? I want to know how these petals sound but to me, who primarily plays in bridge position, it would sound different than what you have in the video
"Because I wanna be like Doyla Bramhall and I don't have my own personality" - Don't we all 😂? If you ever in NYC, i'll buy you a beer!
Same goes for you if you're ever in the Netherlands! ✌️
The Isle Of Tone 'Tone Bender' did it for me! I've been intrigued by fuzz pedals since you created that 'Letter To Fuzz' compilation video a few months back. Currently the only fuzz I have is a very cheap 'Joyo Voodoo Octave' octave/fuzz pedal. I think I messed it up too... I first used it with a power adapter that was around 5v, when the pedal demanded 9v's. Now, when I plug in my power supply with a 9v adapter, it doesn't even come on at times (the LED comes on, but the signal is muffled) Sometimes it would take 10+ minutes to start working again. I was wondering if it possibly has germanium parts, although, that wouldn't explain why the signal is week when being powered in a days time, I guess.
I live in Barbados 🇧🇧 (in the Caribbean) and honestly it gets pretty darn hot, so I guess if it has germanium parts, the environmental elements may play a role...
A friend recommended a 'Fuzz War' pedal by Death By Audio. He explained to me that most fuzz pedals have the same circuit. So I'll give it a try.
What I really want is an Isle Of Tone 'Haze 67' fuzzy pedal! 🤤
Cheers Ivantic!!
I think that Joyo in silicon! I don't believe you can destroy a pedal by giving it too little voltage, but I'm not sure 😄 In Barbados you might best stick to silicon fuzzes. Even here in the Netherlands the germanium ones fart out a lot 😂 the Fuzz War is an awesome pedal but not like a fuzz face!
@@SashaIvantic Thank you so much for your input Ivantic! I actually wanted a Dunlop Germanium Fuzzface, but I better take your advice. The Caribbean is HOT as hell, let me tell you! I had a rough life financially throughout my 20's (I'm currently 29 now), mainly due to being confined in institutions (I've been a bad boy last few years! 😅). I hope to turn that around. I have a lot of progress to manifest. Maybe someday you'll hear more about me & my music. We'll see... a new journey lies ahead! 🙏🙏✌✌🤘🤘
4:39 that bend sound sick!
I always enjoyed the express or germanium fuzz, very musical. I’m looking into getting a version of that from them .
That thorpy is also very solid sounding and I love the aggressiveness of it. I gotta say when you played it you sounded great. Really inspired and intense style there, very cool .
Iv been looking into the boss tae, when Iv heard some before and after comparisons of people using it with their amp I feel like it makes the amp sound slightly brighter , have you noticed this with your amp? Is there a time difference for you?
I feel like Iv heard it takes away a bit of an amps warmth depending on the amp. Like a marshal for example. Although it sounds pretty nice here for sure , I wouldn’t be able to tell you had an attenuator on.
Tone will always change when you attenuate. You gotta find the one that changes it the least and for me that was the TAE. You're not hearing the attenuator or power amp of the TAE here, I'm not micing the can. This is with the cab and mic sims from the TAE to the interface! :)
Yeah I feel I’m leaning towards the waza, it seems like a good option.
Would you say your germanium expresso has a small temperature gap where it works well? I forget if you said it in this video or another where germaniums aren’t useable after 30 Celsius? Any idea where it’s useable in a the low temp and the highest temp? I really like the germanium but I worry it will not be stable enough in general.
I’d appreciate it!
@@heythere6983 The Expresso has CV7005 transistors which are mil spec. I've noticed those are less temperature sensitive and more stable with temperature changes, but will fart out as well with high temperatures because it's germanium 😄 but overall their sound is more stable than non mil spec and they sound killer!
Hey Sasha! New subscriber, killer channel. Probably the most underrated channel I’ve seen and you are definitely a wicked guitarist.
Question: I’m looking into getting a new overdrive and fuzz. I’ve settled on Kingtone Duelist but I’m torn on the fuzz.
I want to get the Kingtone Fuzz v2 but then there’s the Dominion Fuzz with a totally different circuit for Sil and Germ. Have you ever tried the Kingstone Fuzz? It’s cheaper than the Dominion Fuzz but I believe when you change between germ and sili it’s on the same circuit instead of two independent
Thanks for your kind words man! I think you’ve already given yourself the answer 😄
If you haven;t yet tried the 3Leaf Audio Doom2 fuzz pedal, be sure to check it out. I use it on my bass and it's a staple on my board.
Awesome video !
Could you explain how you record this ?
Where is the pedal going into?
Thanks! After the pedals it's amp > Boss TAE > interface
great video as always my man, any recommendations to not get lost in a mix while using fuzz? also do you prefer the sound of fuzz through a clean amp or an edge of breakup one
Crank the volume of the fuzz wide open and be light on the fuzz. The more fuzz is introduced, the muddier it'll get. Which brings me to your second question. If you're light on the fuzz control it needs something else to roar. Preferably an amp that is in overdrive. Or an overdrive pedal that doesn't colour too much. The Dane or a Klon-ish pedal works very well! This is only applicable to fuzz face type pedals though. A bender is a different beast!
@@SashaIvantic yes i figured! i used to play a clone of a klon and a hendrix fuzz face but recently i changed to a bluesbreaker type pedal and it sounds even closer to what im looking for, i have never played a bender but would love to try one soon, i also own an ace tone fuzz master which is a super fuzz and it's freaking killer
@@SashaIvantic What is your advice on using a Tonebender or is it the same?
@@astroelvis1034 crank EVERYTHING
Have you tried the Kingtone Mini GE?!?!?
Fantastique merci beaucoup
Phenomenal player 🙏🙏🤟🤟
Man you know berkos? They use to produce a germanium model sold over 700$ it sounded fantastic but damn, 700U$
Have you tried the SM Fuzz or SM Octa Fuzz?
What amp are you using here please? Outstanding playing.
Thanks a ton! That's a DCC amp. You can find him on Instagram
@@SashaIvantic thank you can’t seem to find him. Seems mysterious. Lol
awesome pedals Sasha, huge sound! I ve a tonebender mkii but have lots of trouble with it in a pedal chain (volume keeps dropping). Any tips?
try to put the tone bender 1st in the signalchain, before any buffers - those germanium fuzzes work best with the shortest possible signal path to the guitar. at least it worked for me :-)
@@davidschaer that worked really well! Thanks :D
@@brechtloyens3892 glad to hear 🙂
outfuckingstanding playing and demo
Have you ever tried Formula B’s Fuzz Rangers? If not, you should definitely give it a shot
Haven't had the chance yet but it's on my list!
@@SashaIvantic I’ll be waiting for your opinions on it then!
Hello.
It's been 2 years since I started playing the electric guitar. I'm looking to buy my first fuzz and I'm looking for a fairly versatile fuzz and preferably not Germanium.
Would you have any advice?
in the tone of Jimmy Page for example.
thank you
Hey Chris, Page used a Tone Bender. I would get in touch with Expressofx. He makes killer benders with NOS component for a more than fair price. He might be able to make you something silicon. Reeves Electro makes the RedDotSound which is a silicon bender but it's hard to get. Most benders you'll find are actually germanium. Another option would be the SGFX If 6 Was 9. It's a silicon fuzz face with voltage control, bias and a few more tricks up its sleeve. That can get close to bender style tone and you'll have classic fuzz face tone at your disposal as well!
@@SashaIvantic ok Thanks Sasha.
Haze 67 all the way!
Berkos is good I can confirm
The third stone was un real.... what were your amp settings while playing the third stone?
Oh man this was so long ago, I don’t remember. Amp settings were the same across the whole vid tho!
@@SashaIvantic ok cool. Thank you!
I have a Pigdog MK I that is hard to beat
Stu from Sunbear keeps mentioning those too! Gotta try it as well 😄
👍😊
Analogman Mike. Enought said.
Haze 67 for me
Field Marshall
What do you think about Axis Fuzz?
Never tried it tbh!
🤘😈🤘
I also am a fuzz person
To not have the Fuzz Factory the OG of boutique fuzz is kinda blasphemous. That being said you have some nice sounds.
🤘👍🏿
no analogman fuzz????????????????????
Only 10 eh?
😂
haze 69 ... just die for !!!
