My lord! I just restrung my mother's violin and all I needed was to hear each string plucked once to tune it. You did it from 0:18 - 0:24. I went through about 20 other clips trying to teach me the physics of the universe until I found you. And you did it in 6 seconds! THANK YOU, LISA!!!
As a non believe, I'd like to say if there is an afterlife, I'm dam near certain you be on get the highest part of heaven. Thank you so so much. This is so good and such a life saver.
Thank you for an awesome video, Lisa! Really makes a big difference with chamber music. It's crazy to think that musicians don't spend the 30 seconds necessary to tune, before playing.
Thank you for the video Lisa! It's helpful, yet I have a problem. Whenever I try to tune my inner-right string on my violin the big peg goes back down to a very low note and it won't go back. It's very loose!
The Wood Violins Viper Violin has machine head tuners which make tuning it easier. I highly reccomend replacing the friction pegs & fine tuners with geared tuners cause tuning will get easier this way.
Lisa Morris That Yamaha Violin I have is tuned down a step to Cajun Tuning (F, C, G, D) because it matches this Music box that plays Watermelon Man:czcams.com/video/_6zPhHdJTcM/video.html
Tuning a guitar banjo and ukulele are easier! I take it to Sam Ash Music store ...but I really have to jump right in and tune it G and now E I’ve been shifting to 3 rd position on the A string to practice Violinist since Coronavirus “Musician “ since 1975 Wish I started on Violin in 1975! Mrs S @SS
If you are beginner I suggest that you find a good violin luthier and get the fine tuners put on your instrument. You also may have geared pegs. In that case this video will not help you much. I don’t like geared pegs, I feel like they make it more difficult to get the instrument in tune. However, I only had 1 student with them so I don’t have a lot of experience tuning with them. It is the same concept, but the gear will allow you to make those tiny adjustments that the fine tuners are for. You want to find a violin shop. Someone there can tell you what you have and what you need. Violin shops with real luthiers tend to be notoriously honest and fair with prices in the US. I don’t have experience with other countries. I can make a recommendation if I know where you live. But don’t put it on here. Find me on Facebook and IM me.
@@teacherofstrings Dear Lisa, Thank you so much for the response! So far I have installed two fine tuners on the strings E and A, however, the meeting with the luthier is already arranged for Friday - I need to be sure that everything else works just fine on my violin! You are particularly calming teacher - no more anxiety ♥️

Lisa Morris You can even use Mechanical Geared Pegs because they actually make tuning the instrument a Snap. Guess you should give em a shot.

@@darynalarionova6352 Geared pegs might be even easier cause you can take off the fine tuners to enhance the sound
I have this turned all the way up .i can't hear you
I apologize for the inconvenience. I have not gotten any other complaints. I would check your computer.
If this app didn’t work apps.apple.com/us/app/pitched-tuner-tuning-app/id1457541750 this is an app I used instead and worked great!
