This is literally the best combo to use... Jbv1 makes the v1gen2 better than anything else IMO. The learning curve is huge so it's not for everyone.. typical iphone users will not want all this customizability because apple limits them anyways.
I used my V1 gen 1 with YaV1 for years with decent results but never really figured out how to get the most out of it. Now I have a R7 which is great but sometimes too busy/noisy. I may look into getting a V1 Gen 2 if Thei doesn't work out or is too expensive. Thanks for covering the JBV1 app in such detail.

Once you have Waze on, but want to go back to the JBV1 screen, how would you do it? I personally "swipe up" on my phone, Waze requires to do it twice which is a bit hard while you are driving. Would you have a better idea? Thanks... [I am here with pen and paper spending the whole day watching these videos and making notes! A far cry from the plug and play I have been for years!]

I am curious as to why I would turn off monitoring of certain bands, vice just leaving it all on? I'm new at this so I'm not sure why I would have profiles for different band settings.

The reason you'd turn off certain bands is if officers don't use those bands in your area, you can shut them off to cut out the now unnecessary false alerts you'd get on those bands.

I use the r3 and real like it but it quite working I do a lot of driving payson az to morenci witch is about 4 hrs so now im saving up for the r7may take me about 6 months but I thank it will be worth it
How well does this app work for the Escort max 360 and 360 C???? Great vid... all of your vids are "right on." ;-)
Zoey Michael does not integrate with Escort systems. It would operate via standalone mode
Does the sensor dark work on the v1 gen1? Is it using the phones ambient light sensor?
The V1 has a light sensor on the front, IIRC.

JBV1 auto bright is clearly fighting the Samsung S21 ultra auto brightness and pulsing up and down
Jbv1 all of a sudden has been restarting itself while in use. It's been happening for a couple of week's now. Do you know why? I already checked my security apps to make sure they are not closing JBV1. I've also uninstalled and re-installed the app, and it still randomly restarts on its own. I'm using a Samsung Note 20 ultra 5g. Thank you

Why doesn't stuff save do u have to do this every time u get in the car?
Which stuff? Your settings? Those save so you don’t have to set them every time you drive.

They all save what are you talking about? I have probably the cheapest android phone called a moxee and it can't even allow over lays because how uncapsble it is and mine saves all settings
Thanks for this video Vortex. The V1G2 is way more customizable than Escort radars and it's intimidating as hell 😅.
I do have one small question regarding custom freqs, according to Radenso LEO only use K Band 24.125 to 24.150 with this in mind would using that freq range in the custom freq options be smart or am I missing something? Also I've read segmenting the V1G2 isn't quite the same as a Escort detector is it better to just leave it on Ka wide?
Those are the center frequencies, but they’re allowed to transmit in those ranges +/- 100 MHz. For that reason people generally don’t bother segmenting K band in North America the way they do overseas.
@@VortexRadar Thanks for the quick response! Got it thanks. And what about the custom freqs for Ka band? I've noticed if I do Ka band 5 for example it doesn't display quite the same. I've noticed on the V1G2 section some people suggest giving the freq some wiggle room or something. Do you run custom freqs on yours or just Ka wide? This detector has so much you can change compared to my DP360
That’s a topic for endless discussion that’s better brought up on RDF... :) Performance is only affected on the Gen1 though so there’s not much reason to bother with it on the Gen2.

Hi my car comes with Android auto and Waze shows up on my car stereo screen I wonder will this app work the same way instead of using my phone maybe I can use my phone just for the Bluetooth pairing and get it to show up on my Android auto car screen I will try it later I haven't tried anything yet
Unfortunately it doesn’t. It’s an Android App Store limitation.

Yes I use Waze on Android auto and run jbv1 on my phone v1gen2 jbv1 is soooo sick once you learn everything.
map overlay doesn't work at all I DON"T GET IT............ :((((((((((
it has to be enabled in the settings
click settings
alert map
enable alert map
enable csa alerts show on map
enable paws show on map
click alert map overlays
enable highway radar heat map
enable csa heat map
and any other options you want
this is how you get all the information you want

One a single guys pushes all of the almost weekly updates. I think he has his hands full. You can buy a $20-60 Android phone to run JBV1.
