Being nice: they will probably just say hi, hello or something, when you ask how they're doing they will give an answer but not as long they would if they like you, like this "not bad"
If they actually like you: they will probably text you something like hey, hiya stuff like that. And if you ask how they're doing they will give you a more in detail answer instead, like this: "I'm great, how about you?"
This is how I found out that this guy liked me when he was texting because he was really trying to make conversation, so this is from my experience

Speaking as a shy guy, texting can be just as tough, if not tougher, than a face to face interaction, because you have more time to think and over analyze with someone you like. I’ve got a jokey personality for instance, but I’ve had instances where it’s taken me 15-20 minutes to text someone I liked because I was worried about offending her. So yeah I wouldn’t necessarily say the guy who’s not responsive on text should be ruled out as liking you.

Ok so let's call him Daniel. Me and Daniel have PE together. We stand next to each other in the line up for that class. He's quiet but he's not entirely awkward or anything, more just to himself, but he's super nice and we share the same humor. So one day he played this Pe warmup with me and was teasing me, then he caught up with me and my friend while we were walking home, offered to fight someone when he thought they hurt my feelings, went up to me and asked me what happened & if I was alright after my anxiety attack, walked again with me home, made deadass eye contact for 6 seconds, said hey to me at my locker, blushed when I complimented him, said "this ones for you" and tried to make a basketball shot but adorably failed. But my issue is that he pushes and teases this other girl but idk... I feel like he likes me but like I don't know how to get him to ask me out because I like him a lot too. I only have Pe every other day so I hardly see him but idk how to get him to ask me out. We haven't been speaking too much Idk how to keep him interested, so girls could you help a sister out? :)

We walked again and had a 15 minute conversation about random things and it was sweet they were telling me stories and I was telling them stories ugh😍

It's really hard to differentiate between shy guys and the guys that are just not interested in you because they both not showing clear signs that they are into you. Why not tell the guy about your feelings anyways we're in the modern world where women are equally priviledged to men.

Ok, so here's my problem. So, I have a crush and I see him everyday. In class, we talk so much and we barely stop talking. He is always being really silly and funny and is always blushing and smiling. He sometimes gets nervous around me and when I first met him, he was very nervous and shy but not since we became friends. But as soon as we leave class, he barely talks to me and I will catch him looking at me every so often. But he kinda gives me an intense sorta look but I'm not sure if he likes me or he does and he is also very shy.
I think he does but he just doesn’t have the courage to come up to you outside of the classroom. It’s a different environment inside a class than it is outside.

I asked my college crush one day if I should go out with someone else who had asked me out. I was HOPING to get a response to the effect of "No, he's not right for you," or something like that. He basically said, "Sure, if you like him, why not?" Turns out, my crush really did like me, but was too shy to ask me himself! Then, years later, after we had established a friendship, he called me up one day to ask about a girl he wanted to date. (WHY DO GUYS DO THIS?!?) I presumed that he had put me in the 'friend / tolerable human' zone, so I offered him friendly advice. I remember saying to him, "You should date a girl who likes you for you, not for what you can buy for her," going on about not spending a lot of money on a first date, because it was setting the bar too high, and the girl would have an expectation of him spending all sorts of money on her and he would have a hard time (being a broke-ass college student like me) keeping up with that. He sounded a little disappointed when he hung up the phone. DECADES later, a mutual friend told me, "Oh yeah he had these concert ticket he bought to take you out, but then he ended up giving them to me and another guy." Damn it, if I had any idea that he wanted to date me, I'd have jumped at the chance!!
Well, here we are some 30 years later. He's single, I'm single and we're talking again. If he starts that sh** of asking for dating advice from me again, I'm going to be totally blunt and say, "Why are you not asking someone else about dating ME?!?" Great video... I've liked this guy for quite a while and didn't think he'd feel the same, assumed he'd be straight, but the more I see him the more it seems mutual. I thought he was disinterested initially, but the last point of the video is exactly what brought me around.. he's kinda awkward and has a hard time starting conversations, but when we do get talking his face just lights up so brilliantly, and he gets really excited and extends conversations as long as possible, laughs quite a lot at my bad jokes, goes out of his way to help me with things, etc. It's adorable, I'm trying to be clear with my signals but it's difficult for such a delicate situation, I know he has anxiety and am just trying to not be too abrasive, but also think a nudge in the right direction would help ease some of the pressure. He has said some stuff that comes off as non-platonic as well, but it seems like he's so shy he literally can't look me in the eye and instead, always looks down or at something he's showing me while we talk. (And yes, he can maintain eye contact with everyone else just fine.)

Well this isn’t for all boys. I am shy and when I do see my crush walking down the hall I literally am tempted to make eye contact or say hi but I hold my self back because I don’t like anyone knowing who my crush is unless I tell them so I try not to give any hints. This was really helpful! I had so many mixed feelings whether my crush liked me or not. But, after watching this, I figure he really is a shy guy.
Whenever we pass each other, we look at each other's eyes and then give a very quick and awkward smile to each other. That happens everytime we have this chance.
One time, I mean most of the time, at lunch, he tends to be with his pals and Im with my gals. He is very talkative around them; of course, I am the same with mine. After lunch, whenever we line up in the hallways with the same class, we are in the usuals lining up literally back to back from each other. This, he kind of becomes quiet and he seems like he wants me to look at him and start a conversation. The problem is, Im not a very sociable person with guys... I feel tense whenever Im around a lot of the guys he is friends with. I guess I didn't want to feel judged around them. Come to think of it, his groups is quite similar to my groups of friends...
