candygirl828 I feel you. Like a few months ago the kid I like told my friend that we liked each other and so I tried to text him, but he sucks at responding after a while. Everyone kept asking me how everything was going with us and I decided to give up bc he is beyond horrible at texting. Then last week out of the blue he texted me and now we have assign seats at the same table in class. Everyone is trying to get us to go to Prom together but he might not be able to go so he doesn't wanna ask me. There's also this trip next week that we can go on and one of our friends is trying to get me to go bc the kid I like is going. There is this dude in my class who is super shy. One day he sent me an email saying that he had a crush on me. He said oops wrong person, but then he sent it to me again, and he doesn't have any other girl's email. But about 15 minutes later, he sent another email saying that he didn't actually like me and it was just a joke.... I asked him why he sent the email so late after it, and he said he went to go play GTA 5... before he sent me the other email I was like.... really?? Also... later his friends said they were talking to him, and they told me he liked me, but he completely denied it. That was last year, and this year he stares at me A LOT and looks away when I look at him. Also, when I'm talking to his friend in Algebra, he sits there and listens to our conversations, and he tries to join in on the conversation. It's a little annoying. But, what's funny is the dude I'm talking to, COMPLETELY ignores him, even though they are like best friends, and he just keeps talking to me. So I don't know if the dude who sent me the email likes me or not... But, we also danced with each other at our school dance last year the entire time because nobody else wanted to dance with us, and he was super short last year (not anymore). So, yeah, it was kinda awkward. He was SUPER nervous. His palms were sweating and stuff the whole time, and he kept taking pictures of his pants so he could see what they looked like, because he thought they looked weird. Also, after the dance, he told his mom he danced with me. His mom didn't even ask him who he danced with. Would a 13 year old boy really care about that enough to tell his mom? firstly, you might have some anxiety issue around him but I'm not too sure. (probably hormones lol)
secondly, he might have an interest in you, especially if he keeps looking at you every few seconds. (you also said that when you looked at him, he looked away. a sure sign is if he just doesn't look at you the rest of the time in class and tries to avoid you for a [sometimes long] period of time).
This can vary between shy guys though. some will actually not look at you/avoid you after you catch them due to simply being mindful of others (and not seeming like a total creep). (I don't think this is the case with him though, he might have an interest in you.)

If you don't feel safe having a conversation or are scared that a physical fight will occur write a letter (not a text because people get to confident and can insult you making you loose self esteem) then find the people that make you feel better not worse and genuinely care about you and treat you equally. This recently happened to me and my friend was spreading rumors about me so I confronted her saying I didn't want to be friends nor enemies and I stuck around with the people who cared about me and treated me well.

To be honest, I have such a hard time talking in real life with most people that I never even talked with my friends about my crush. Also, I don't know if that's the same with all shy people, but at least I have crushes for a super long time. I've been crushing on a girl for over 10 months now and I barely got any closer to her. Besides that, even just initiating a conversation on a messenger (no matter what way; I started with a question about fucking maths to get the conversation a bit starting then went on) really is a "Going out of his way" thing sometimes, for me at least.

So there's this guy I like. I'm a freshman and he is too but I saw him at the freshman orientation and for some reason he attracted me. I've liked guys all my life but not once have I wanted to make a move. Like I talked to him during lunch last week on Monday cause I pulled the "excuse me do you know where this class is" card but I don't know, there's just something about him that makes me chase after him. I grew tired of not making a move so that could be why? But anyways the assembly was yesterday and as he performed (He's in band) I saw him looking my way a good handful of times. I also went to the football game after school and cheered as band performed. My friend Vanessa and I were the only ones standing up cheering so I'm sure he noticed me. I was planning on complimenting him to get a conversation going but it's so hard, due to how we're both shy. I have a bit of a dilemma. There is this boy who sits next to me at school and I go to a school for kids with behaviour problems and there's 8 maximum to a class. I'm the only girl in the class and I think he and few other boys may be hitting on me. What do I do!?!?! Please help!
And yes the guys who sits next to me is the prime suspect. He does do odd things like make weird jokes and we get kids kick off in my class and they target me cause I'm the only girl and when they like threaten to throw things once he kinda like put his arm behind my head to shield me.
