The e-reader wasn’t even released in Europe. Of course instead of including all the levels that had been made available up until that point for free they just removed the Level Card option entirely.

A lot of E-Reader stuff to my knowledge has thankfully been reserved through emulation. Even if that weren't the case though I wouldn't necessarily worry about it becoming lost media because the cards are highly collectible and sought after and therefore are in the hands of people who know how to preserve stuff.
Only Nintendo would lock their only original 2D Mario content for a system behind a card reader of all things.

my copy of mario advance 4 didnt even come with the cards lmao, they probably reprinted it after the ereader died
