About 4 weeks from home now, will be home a couple of months, then we will do some smaller, more direct trips, plenty to see and do in NSW and Queensland for a while.
      Thanks Charlotte.

Hi Ken and Julie , this is the first time I have watched your videos , it was great ! You are doing what I would love to do caravan across Australia . Thank you for all the information and also the videos showing me what it is really like , it looks amazing ! Ken you are a real statistics man just like my Dad . He always used to write everything down and also keep a track of all the stats at the local footy game in Donnybrook . Looking forward to following your trip . Have a wonderful time .😀🌞

Hi Ken and Julie, it was great to meet up with you in Esperance. Our biggest cost occurred on the Nullarbor. A bird flew into the car and damaged our aircon. Just one of the many pleasures of being on the road.

Thanks Heather and Steve, its always great to catch up with fellow youtubers and exchange thoughts.
I've watched a couple of your video's now and i'm envious of your commentary.
We ran into the other couple we met when we met you guys, on the Bunda cliffs, a couple of days back.He wanted to put the drone up but it was blowing a gale.
I look forward to seeing more of your adventures, thanks for watching

Thank you. Yes, that gentleman did get his drone up after you left. All went well until he tried to catch it in his hand, it bounced off his hand and tumbled along the ground for a bit.

On our recent trip crossing the Nullarbor we had very similar numbers. It certainly make a difference to fuel usage when travelling into a headwind our worst was also around 20 litres per 100 km. 2018 model Isuzu towing 2.6 tn. Very informative vid thanks for sharing. Cheers!

    Hi Ken & Julie…
Thanks for an informative episode. We are planning the same crossing next May so I’ll take note of the expensive locations and with a 140ltr tank I can hopefully use the extra capacity to bypass the expensive fills. So far we have seen 15.8 - 20.9 l/100k with our V6 Ranger.
I know what you are saying about the “wind wall”, particularly when the trucks approach from behind… I communicate with the trucks via my UHF where possible and once they have pulled out to pass I ease back and reduce speed and when they are along side I “gently” apply the accelerator so as to barely increase speed but just to pull my combination “tight” and I hardly even feel them passing using this technique.
If I do overtake I “never” do it on even a slight downhill grade as my combination is then loose and many van rollover videos I have seen have been overtaking down hill.
I’ll re-watch this episode and plan out our fuel stops… thanks.
    Graeme

Thanks Graeme, some great tips there, 145lt tank should serve you well accross the Nullarbor, no having to fill up through the middle.
Appreciate the feedback, thanks for watching.

Are you taking the fuel figures on the cars computer or do you work them out your self?
I find there's a difference from what the cars computer says and what I work out on paper by using a fuel consumption app. Scangauge I fond is more of a realistic figures and there is not more than 1 to 3 ltrs different from the SG and what the app says.
Figures read out on the dash I most often higher than both the SG and the app

Put km and lt into fuel app everytime i fill up.
