I entered ADCC Trials and won matches by taking advantage of a strange loophole in the rules. Jiu Jitsu Lab: skool.com/jiujitsu XMartial: www.xmartial.com/?ref=joshrich Code:JOSHRICH
not a negative, as in the rules "If you shoot for a takedown and in less than 3 secs you go to turtle position breaking the attack, you will be penalized with a minus." good luck on the next one buddy proud of you
If you watch Mo Jasim's rules seminar on CZcams he explains that the turtled opponent needs to actively drive forward. There needs to be an attempt to finish the takedown otherwise you could still be subject to a penalty. Still it's always gonna be subjective. Josh had such an impressive showing, no question about that. In 2 years time you'll be there will all the greats.
I like this format! Compared to last year, feel like you got better presenting this to us. You being humble and down to earth makes me want to Watch every second of the matches.
I’m impressed with the way you’re still able to implement your game at this high level. We have a similar game, so to see you doing this well in trials is super encouraging to me! I think your wrestling was competent enough to win that last match, you just needed to be more confident in it. I’d check out Nicky Ryan’s wrestle up series if you haven’t already, it’s absolute fire.
Great job Josh! It's astounding watching your progress over the years! The match against the Black was pretty even. Black was slightly better than you in wresting. And good idea using each tournament and rules to your advantage including "turtle" which I thought you would lose points if used too long?
Great matches! Seems like there were some opportunities for your opponent to use the Roger Gracie hook on you while in turtle. Maybe they tried and I didn’t see it. In any event fun to watch.
Great performance overall. One small thing which will help you, when the 10p black belt double legged you, you extended one arm towards the mat on your way down. Try to avoid that habit in the future, it can lead to bad wrist, elbow, or shoulder injuries. Good ukemi protects you joints as well as distributing the impact in order to minimize damage. Try to keep your arm tight to your chest when you are on your way down, and extend it out only once your shoulder has made contact with the mat.
I mean people just need to get good at attacking turtle its one of the most common position in adcc when preparing for trials we dod a lot of turtle rounds and 4 points as its where matches are won and lost
try sambo or judo. I've been doubling legs for 2 years and after continious losses because of that decided to learn these judo tricks. I heavily recommend that.
@@0fficer_friendly I think it's because when you go for a wrestling takedown, you're main objective is to take them to the ground, but in judo, while the objective is to take them down, you have more control over them
@@AndyKingCoolthis is true but honestly with wrestling you can learn judo while doing it this person must’ve been doing something wrong but overall judo and wrestlers crush bjj competitions until guard is pulled

@@santiagobracho5964 stupid cause if you look at Gordon against buchecha, hes not actively driving forward at all, looks more like this
Less than 5 years of training but is still a unit! you've come a long way in a short time 5 years for you is like 10 for us your fine!
Meh that would be like 40 years for me (9-year white belt here)
very cool that you had weird al yankovic refereeing your match at 6:11
I thought it was Blake from workaholics
Any context about that ref? I always see him in ADCC
That's awesome you got to meet weird Al!!

Stay safe and strong bro, peace !
Great details, thanks. And I'm sorry to have laughed when you said "walk out of here on a stretcher" 😅

Where can I find that specific rash guard top you had on when competing in the tournament??
Death note sound effect at 7:38 ?!?! Great commentary!
I did an ADCC tournament around 2 weeks ago and mine was more of white belts pulling guard or a couple people that did wrestling before jiu jitsu
That shoulder crunch..captin 😂
lets go josh!
Good for you, you did great
Excellent work man
Thank you
Good job!
One of the most technical purple belts on the planet!
This guy talking as if he’s not a pro level jiujitsu fighter😂
that first sweep was nice
good run dude
Thanks
3 solid matches
You are a fucking beast, wow
Thanks bro
What app do you use to voice over your matches?
I use premiere pro
Goddamn that was exhausting just watching this.
Improving wrestling will make your turtle better too, that's the way grappling is going according to Craig Jones
Look Eduardo Telles turtle guard, youll learn from the turtle master!! Up this gambit
Turtle is an effective home base bottom position even in a sub only context.
Simple question: How many days of the week do you train and how many rolls per session?
6 days a week, 10-15 6 minute rounds a day
I mean people just need to get good at attacking turtle its one of the most common position in adcc when preparing for trials we dod a lot of turtle rounds and 4 points as its where matches are won and lost
Ok Eduardo Telles

so ur saying judo is more effective than wrestling? and how did double legs make u lose?

Kenny is a beast man
He was, I’ve never experienced leg lock defense like his before
At least I'm in turtle , 🌟My Happy Place🌟7:40
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
You’ve inspired me to get better @ jiu jitsu . Really start period that and ufc 4. Keep up the good work tho 🫡
I think the issue was you didnt keep going with the for 3 seconds
What did the cameraman do?😂
He was at the wrong place at the wrong time lol
but mom i want to see the rotuolo bros
we have rotuolos at home
the rotuolos at home
😂
You might not like the rules set, but I promise you it looks a lot better and it forces you to get better
Youre like mma jeff chan but from wish birra
dude awesome you rolled against my coach! if you are ever in So-cal come roll with us! at 10p fullerton!
He was really good, I definitely will stop by if I’m ever nearby!
Try the cricifix position. I think it would open great sub options.
Das dürfen Sie niemals tun.
Overtime dumb wait like 30 min then go again same time
BJJ is full of crappy rules
GREAT MATCHES
Dude, those flying t bags will get you 😂 gotta git gud ✈️☕️🎒🫡
I love it. Real life anime hero arc.
