So while we wait for the WLTOYS 124019 to turn up we needed a way to kill some time!
What better way than a nice cheap 1/18th Scale RC to have some fun with!

Now i have had my eye on this little Desert Truck for a while. Mainly because of the price it looks like
a nice cheap but well made little buggy and i wanted to see for myself if that is indeed the case?
I do like maverick a lot they certainly bring a lot to the party for not a huge amount of money
I also own the Maverick Strada which i converted to 4s power!!

What do you think of the little Maverick iON DT? Just one of many 1/18th Scale offerings from Maverick! A nice cheap RC which would be ideal as a gift or maybe even a christmas present for the kids/family or trying to get someone into the RC hobby.
If you are looking at this with the intention of buying it as your first ever RC then you should also check out the WLTOYS 144001 which is also as a very similar price to this and potentially the better option as it features a lot more metal parts and just a generally nicer buggy for someone starting out!
While we wait for the WLTOYS 124019 we will have some fun with this little buggy and kill some time!
Also an update on the Absima AB3.4!
My final video in that series will be along soon i am just finishing up and need to re-do the 3s speed run as it started raining and had to leave it for the day but i will be giving my verdict on that and seeing if it is a worthy cheap RC Kit!

Just got my 7 year old son a Dromida 1/18 scale MT for Christmas. A few days ago I decided to buy myself the Maverick Ion DT so we could play together and broke it 2 hours after buying it. I didn’t expect the tires to be so grippy on the street and flipped and broke the wing. Then I crashed into my foot and broke a suspension arm. My local hobby shops don’t carry parts for the Maverick so I’m waiting for them to come in the mail. Hopefully next time out I’ll get more than 5 minutes of play before something breaks again.
That's a really nice looking little car, and the colours really do it justice. Good to see something that isn't a 'Banggood Special', too. Can't wait to see what it can do. 👍🏻

Love the body shell but can't help thinking the hs18311 for example isn't far off for almost 50% less, obviously the Mav has the build quality but the 18311 can't half take a beating. Saying all that though I'm sorely tempted to save up some pennies as a Xmas gift 😉
I got a Yikong e18 brushless, essentially the same car. About $40 from gear best clearance few years ago. Much better quality than wltoys a959.
These look amazing for the money mate .maybe you could upgrade motor but keep it brushed and sensible in a video I will definitely get one if it's easy to upgrade
Not a bad idea will look into this! Are you not a fan of brushless? They actually do some very cheap brushless combos that would work in this!
@@beyondRC I do like brushless I just think it's a nice little buggy if it could have I little more speed for a few quid more it would be perfect. I don't believe in taking a budget entry level car and putting to much money into it . I've subscribed to your channel because your still reviewing and having fun with this type of car . Other you tubers have gone to far in my opinion saying cars are dirt cheap when it's more than weeks wages for most. Keep doing what your doing and stay safe
@@bradmenday3843 I agree i will definitely look into that! You are absolutely right which is another reason why i started my channel dirt cheap isn't always the case. I noticed a lot that that some cars costing over 200+ were also being considered cheap which they certainly are not!
My channel is pretty much made up of cheap / budget RC's that i think more people can afford. I'm not saying i will never do the expensive stuff because providing the channel keeps growing at a steady rate i would like to think anything is possible my Goal is an X-maxx or outcast 8s!

That's a rebranded Himoto/Iron track/Redcat Volcano 18. I own the Iron track SCT and the Redcat Volcano 18(brushed). They run smooth, but there are better options in that range
Grate vid. After trashing my "made of cheese" ftx carnage iv looked at this as it cost the same as the repairs I had to make after one trip out.
Also the ion cam be brought from a local hobbie shop so a bit of support is worth the price difrence. 👍🙂

Looks like a cool little truck is there a lot of ruum under that body for separate esc and reciever?
Doesn't look like a huge amount but anything is possible! Can definitely squeeze those components in but will be tight! I'm sure we will find out soon enough as my usual plan is to change things up!!
What good lipo battery 🔋 I could use for that RC with out damaging it?
maybe a small 2s i think a 1200 would fit fine!

Hi. Would this be a good starter RC car for my 8yr old? Don't want to spend £££s if he's not into it. Would mainly be using on local field and bmx track? Thanks.
Should be fine for an 8 year old to start off with. is very small though and low to the ground so wont go well on grass if it's long. But overall not a bad little starter RC
