  • Removing the AC orifice tube is pretty easy with the right tools, this video shows you where to find the orifice tube and how to remove it once you've located it.
The best tool for the job is the Lisle tools master disconnect set:

Or just the basics that everyone should have:

What year 6.0 diesel is your video? I have a 2006 f250 6.0. Not sure if ford made changes during this year. Thanks for the info and good video!

This was an 05, virtually identical to your 06.

Where is the expansion valve located? if this truck has one? I have a 2002 f450 6.8l v10 and it has the same ac system as this.

These trucks run fixed Orfice tube and not expansion valves. So no, there isn't an expansion valve on your truck.

@@RogueWrenching Thanks, I have replace it. Looks that i am still have a problem. Truck runs cold for about an hour or so and then quits and hot air comes out. There was some small metal shaving on the orifice tube so suspecting the compressor may not be doing that good.

Do you have to evacuate the system first?

      Yes

Absolutely. This system is under pressure with toxic refrigerant. It needs to be recovered using suitable equipment and NOT vented to atmosphere.
