    Never thought about taping the brush so the varnish doesn't go up that high and makes it quicker to clean. Good Tip!

    The box is perfect .as the tip with masking tape, it protects a bit the bristles of the upper part of the brush ?
    if not clean I put it in the adequate solvent in a bowl, and the bowl in the Ultrasonic bath , this is very efficient.
    even with the US bath it can take some time for big large brushes after using alcool based laquer/varnish, with colophon, even when using strong solvents The top of the brush is still loaded with semi dissolved lacquer
    I think I will try that tool for immediate or second day cleaning... Lets give a try ;) regards

    Thanks for showing me a better way to clean my varnishing brush, and how to store and control my brush's bristles. Where did you get the Brush Spinner?

    Hi - do you not want to rinse again with plain water to remove the soap residue? Won't the soap affect the next use?

    • @JamestownTV
      @JamestownTV  Před 7 lety +1

  • @CityThatCannotBeCaptured

    'Mineral spirits'? Is that turps?

    • @Jay_Sullivan
      @Jay_Sullivan Před 8 lety

      They are similar, but not equal. Turpentine is stronger and more expensive. Both can be used for cleaning, but turpentine is better for thinning oil paint.
