Great point that a new leader for the Liberals can be chosen within a few months.
But the leadership race would have to occur when parliament is in recess or prorogued. As a lame duck PM in question period would not be a pretty site.
It is clear that the new liberal leader needs to call election right away and earn a mandate to set an agenda shortly after winning the Liberal Leadership.
So you don't buy Korys and Herles theory that Trudeau can hold off to the summer of 2025 for a 2026 election? Personally I can see that happening.

Bragging about consuming a steady diet of CNN and NPR is a weird flex. But OK. I hate how you’re characterizing Biden’s debate as him just being old. The man has full-blown dementia.
I'm 3 minutes in and for Geoff to say well they can find a replacement through delegates is not a good political take. It a take I've heard a lot from Canadian pundits. Democrats and his handlers hide his condition for 2+ years. They denied the American people an open primary process knowing the condition of Biden. This was avoidable but media were not honest.
If Biden is replaced there are state ballot issues. There will likely be lawsuits. The American system is a lot more complicated than our system. And I am a neutral observer.
@@Griff1984 Excellent points. Canadian party leaders owe their status to a paid membership. America has primaries and caucuses open to voters who identify with the party. Millions democratically chose Biden, so the Democratic Party nominating someone else would look profoundly undemocratic.
