Yep. Peter Thiel took JD Vance down to Mar a Lago a few years ago and there was likely some kneeling and slurping involved (along with cash influx to Trump's campaign via Thiel). When it was over, Trump endorsed Vance for his Senate seat. Thiel dropped $15 Mil on Vance's Senate seat (the largest single campaign donation in history). Then Thiel dropped $10 Mil on trump's campaign right before Trump announced Vance as VP. Seems like someone needs to investigate Thiel.

I am glad as well. Middletown had tons of people from Appalachian Kentucky come to work in the steel plants in the 50's, folks such as JD's Mamaw and Papaw. Middletown is very similar to Youngstown and Akron.
Middletown and many other places are in the north migration path. My family is from eastern Kentucky, but ended up in Columbus looking for work outside of the coal mines.

Go look up Vance's track record - Peter Thiel is his puppet master. Thiel propped Vance up on everything he's been invovled in over the past 13+ years and then dropped $10 Mil on Trump and TOLD TRUMP that Vance is going to be his VP - there was no decision involved. Vance got his sentate seat after Thiel donated $15 MIl to his campaign. Vance is a full on puppet of Thiel with Theil's hand so far up Vance's ass - Thiel is going to be the VP by proxy if Trump assumes Office. And if Trump cannot complete his tenure then Thiel will have found a way to subvert the "natural citizen" clause of the Constitution to be President ... by setting up a puppet that he can fully control where Vnace's decisions will be whatever Thiel tells him they are.

I think he did go into the details a fair bit after 8 minutes in. Plenty of footage of his beliefs in the Senate as well as a Ted Talk that shows his beliefs and where he stands. Obvious policy will align with that.
I tend to hear Democrats say a bunch of a nothing and make crazy amounts of empty promises and just call the other side "bad" or "evil".
Party conventions sadly aren't venues for actual substance. American politics in the post-war era (and before) has been about optics and dumbing actual substance to an attractive veneer. The general public aren't, and largely can't, be informed,. The job of figures like Vance are to excite their base instincts excited enough to pick a side. If you want policy debates, read a think tank journal.

When you look at the strategy, and the fact that he is not bought off like most of Congress by the military industrial complex (his voting record shows that), he seems to be one of the best VP picks Trump could have picked.
