Most of them are I got a nismo v3 rep from duraflex and it fit like pure ass hugeee gaps, ended up buying a painted oe bumper and just throwing a lip on it.

Low speed pulls are mostly gearing based. Run out 3rd and 4th and you'll have some bus lengths.

@@Mightyxenos I've seen the same results when racing my BRZ with a 350Z, they didn't pull away in the straights nearly as much as I would have thought.
Love the comparison, would like to see similar testing done between a stock BRZ and MX-5. No mods other than changing to the same tires. Really evens up the playing field.

It was clear the guy in the Z was going easy on the BRZ during the races. However the prices between the two cars are insane, 350z is a huge performance bargain. Imagine if it was a 370z.

@@lazarvelichkov3967 the cd009 is a commonly used trans in swaps to handle big power. They are compared to the V160s that came in the supras, and many people use them when going turbo in a supra and other chassis as well. They are definitely the best bang for your buck transmission without question

@@SweetSandman88 As an RX-8 owner I'll say they are incredibly reliable if you maintain them properly, yeah yeah broken record. A late model RX-8 stock can absolutely beat a BRZ on the track. Car handles like a monster.
Nice comparison. Having owned a 350z HR and FR-S, I'd also pick the FR-S. A used 350z is a fantastic value (I got mine in good condition for half the price of a new FR-S), but the little FR-S is so much fun at the track and great for all the reasons you mentioned. One suggestion for your test BRZ is to throw on a set of camber bolts and get it aligned. You can pick up -1.5 degrees at the front or < -2.0 if you double up. Not enough for real track work, but dirt cheap and would give you a little more front end grip. Both fun cars though and there's no wrong choice between the two IMO.

As a BRZ owner, I completely agree with you. Anyone who bought a BRZ to go fast didn't do enough research into the car. It's a lot like a Miata; it's quick-ish, but it's more about the feel and the handling of the car than the raw power or speed.
Even if you threw some forced induction under the hood, it would probably just break even with the 350Z unless you were to push some serious boost, but then you're looking at reinforcing several other aspects of the engine and transmission too.

@@esperfire3779 I'm running 9 on my boosted brz. Stock internals e85. Conservative tune walks 350s at 30 rolls. And I'm only hitting 268 at the wheels. I raced one z from a stop and barely lost, but my wheel and tire setup is lacking. 18x8.5 245 35 squared
HD Ramen 260 is a good spot for hp on the brz in forza 7 I place 3rd and first often in b class lol though I race against some noobs x)

I would pick the BRZ anyday too, but this comparo is between a modified 350Z and a near stock BRZ, how is that fair even though they both cost the same to buy used LOL Both cars NEW the 350Z (or 370Z) costs 50% more than the BRZ as well. Maybe compare a used 2013 BRZ slap some mods on it and compare against this 350Z again ;)
In Hawaii a used 86 can go for 10k$ better deal atm over here for a twin then a z car

I'd be interested in a comparison with a Fiesta ST and a BRZ both are rated about the same power and same weight. I know they have totally different platforms and drive styles but feel it would be a different and interesting comparison.
The St would definitely out accelerate the brz, but handling to the brz. Would be interesting
@@TexasVexes I have a Fiesta ST and a 350z pulls on me, based on the way the BRZ hung with that 350z I'm not so sure. Also the Fiesta handles better than most people think. I know Fiesta ST do really well at Auto cross. I still would like to watch it and think it would be interesting to see.
@@ryubiggie I'm sure the ST does handle well. Its a great platform and if I had 20 grand to get a decent one and tune/bolt on I would. Instead I got an Rx8. I've road-raced a ST. Top end we were pretty neck and neck from ~80-120 but the torque b/c turbo has that acceleration. And the Rx8 is faster than a brz (not much but it is) so that's how I made that assumption. It would be more interesting than this one for sure. This last video was an apples to oranges comparison. The 86 platform is a 4 cylinder, the rx8 is a 2 rotor equivalent to a four cylinder, and the ST is a turbocharged four cylinder. The Zed is a 6 cylinder motor and it's going to have the superior power (unless the others have crazy horsepower mods). To some degree it's true there is no replacement for displacement.
@@TexasVexes I haven't had the pleasure to run an rx8 yet. My Fiesta is tuned with wheels tires, springs and intercooler, intake. I have been wanting to run a BRZ and rx8 for a while but never had a chance. My car definitely falls off at the top of it's rpm but like you said the mid range tq is no joke. Definitely feel would be good entertainment. 👍
I have a ST ive raced 3 brzs one when i was stock. My stock ST easily pulled on a fbo brz from a dig and 20 roll. Now im on a stage 3 pro tune running e30 230whp 320wtq and the other two brzs a raced was on e85 i pulled 2 buses. Brzs are cool but the firsta ST has to much torque the brz has none. With a good driver the ST will gap a brz everytime unless the brz is supercharged and the st is stock turbo. You should really upgrade the turbo then your beating v8s.

A lot of young dumb friends of mine bought this cars when car yards were selling it for 30 even 40gran back then... hahahaha and I feel really bad because not knowing it took years before they even start releasing modifications super chargers kits etc,etc and the lack of tuners for this thing. I admit the handling is great but that's it.

The brz wasn’t made with speed and power in mind lol. Subaru made it as a fun to drive energy level sports car. It’s aftermarket scene is quite nice and the engines can’t handle quite a bit.

Fun video, i have similar videos with my n/a BRZ chasing modified 350Zs and S2000s and the BRZ keeps up no problem on smaller tighter circuits ;) And like you said its way more practical than the 350/370Zs. Love the Zs too though, just not as practical.

Please start doing a braking test too. Either a 0-100-0 or just a 100 - 0. Also consider doing repeat runs to show brake fade. Love this series.

me too they are a ton of car for ~5k
330ci would get destroyed. I've got one and a 350z HR model (not a BRZ I know) but in the handling stakes there it's like night and day. The front end doesn't bite like a Z and the e46 rolls a lot more (and that's with h&r sway bars) mainly cause of its higher CoG. U can literally feel the Z maintaining optimal suspension geometry better and for longer as u push, meaning u can turn on tighter and accelerate out earlier.
@@ozstriker4075 BRZ and 350Z are obviously more focused sports cars the 330 is a bargain for what u get and can be a very good handling car when sorted as well as being much more practical. mine has full spherical bearings and solid mounts where applicable and BC coils on Nankang NS2R rubber, rips good in grip mode 👌
@@dirtslider1997 I agree that it's more practical, but youve now compromised ride comfort and bearing longevity with spherical bearings and solid mounts in comparison to a stock 350z. I used to think when the time came I would turn my e46 into a track car, but it just isn't designed for that, so instead I've dynamatted the entire cabin and made it a cruiser.
But it's interesting to hear how different people, compare different cars with/without mods etc

I think we are living in a generation where sport cars are getting way faster and feeling way more dull. In a new world full of electric steering people will miss the raw visceral feel that these 2 little sport cars provide. As I get older I find myself prioritizing the feel of the car more than focusing on just speed.

zeke soto 350z wins by a car lenth or so. I own a 2005 350Z DE and my homie had a 2014 genesis coupe 2.0T, we would ALWAYS line them up when we be with friend. I had a STOCK 350z with none, friend had F&N intake , lower 1inch, staggered rims even TOOK OUT HIS SPARE TIRE lol, it was always 1 car length behind. The first 3 gears it be trouble but once we reached the 40mph to 50mph gears inbetween. It would always take off from there. IT BE FUN THOUGH! Definitely loved the interior on them genisis!

They were going easy on the BRZ. You can clearly see how hard the BRZ driver was shifting compared to the Z. The Z was on a sunday drive lol
You guys should do one of a stock charger or any muscle car vs the stock 86 platform, they may take us in the straights but can they still take us with turns involved too? Leave them both stock so we can see what they would do against each other from factory
Its rare to get 2 comparable drivers with such great feedback on dynamics and abilities of each car explained exactly by people who truly track their car at limit.
There is 10/10th drivers and people that barely get their cars over the edge, this is a channel for DRIVERS not idiots that just have more money than driver mod. I just binged all your comparison videos and have to say keep up the good work making mainstream car channels look pathetic #Americashotversion
During the roll races, Daves shifting in the 350z was slower for sure and was costing a bit of time compared to Pete in the BRZ. I don't know if that's just the limit of the shifter or something about Dave's technique. In terms of the outcome, I think they might underestimate what 2 car lengths mean on the drag strip, it's about a 1 second difference quarter mile which is comparing a 13 second car to a 14 second car. It's not like we are comparing the BRZ to a Corvette here, the 350z only has 300hp and weighs a lot more so the difference is about what I'd expect. Finally, you can find a 2004 350z in decent condition for 6k and values are going up. A 2013 BRZ in good condition starts at 10k and values are still dropping. If you just want the better performing vehicle, the 350z is the place to go. If you want a newer vehicle that is better balanced and easier to live with on the daily, the BRZ is the superior choice.
370z with the 7AT is much much much better, and gears 1-2-3 are closely spaced. You do need a transmission cooler for it though. I think you can easily find a nice 370z for $10-$15k.
My 6mt Z hr is my daily 😂
Earlier CD transmissions in the 350Z are a bit slow. I've driven multiple Z's the CD009 in the HR equipped 350Z's seem to rip shifts quicker. But they occasionally reject a shift quite badly.

You guys should do a stock BRZ versus a stock 2019 Miata comparo. A bolt on NC Miata comparo would work too. A bolt on NC would probably be close to the 170ish whp that a BRZ puts down.

Hyfer Aux it’s so fun I learned to drive manual in it it was easy I learned best by my self and when I took it to school it was even funner I had a rev battle the first day I took it

Question with that bumper on the z can you keep fender liners? I never want to lose them. Tbh. Also had both"ex gf had one" ill take the z. And my sentra ser spec v is faster than the old brz. Like by top of 4th I'd have 4 5 cars on it. But my 4 door spec v is under 2400lb. I'm just a nissan kid haha.

I have those tires on a stock 350z track I purchased for 700 dollars. (And have since fixed the mostly lapsed maintenance.)
They’re good. But could use more confidence on bumpy mountain high way driving.
5th gear full throttle sweepers, and above 130+ mph confidence starts to drop.
