Opal Creek and Three Pools - Oregon Swimming Hole Cliff Jumps - PNW Adventures

- Opal Creek and Three pools are two of the best swimming hole areas in Oregon. They feature crystal clear emerald water and also some great medium sized cliff jumps ranging from 10' to 40' in height. We were there on a perfectly chilly, overcast, spring day and had the magical pools all to ourselves. The fact that the water temp of Opal Creek and Three Pools was 50 degrees also kept the crowds away!

Opal Creek was devastated by a huge fire in 2020 and is now closed to the public. Wonderful to see this video remembering what it used to be like.
Thank you for sharing, this is on my bucket list for this spring/summer!
Have fun and be safe!
Great video Jesse! The Opal Creek Wilderness is such an amazing area and I can't keep myself away for very long. Keep up the great work!
Thanks man! Lots of cool places to explore there for sure!
Lovely! Go Splash! Such clear water!
Thanks
Its crazy to see 3 pools from an outside perspective. Been going there since I was a kid. That tall rock is one for very few people... ive seen a guy do a double backflip off it and was fine but ive seen people hurt themselves as well. If you go upstream about 100 yards from that rock there is a very cool little area with a few more great jumps. Also to note, on the first rock you jumped from at 3 pools, there is a circular pool in between the bottom area and the area you jump into, there's a small underwater arch you can swim thru underneath the tiny falls/current that is a favorite among me and my family and friends that many don't know about.
thanks for the info! i love swimming through underwater arches and tunnels! sweet!
Love your vids man! Can’t wait to be back in the PNW. Subscribed
Thanks man
Awesome video, can't wait to visit these places
Thanks. They are truly beautiful for sure.
Love those backward jumps! LOL Man those pools were so clear. Awesome video!!
WILLIE PRICE Yeah it was amazing, they were cold AF though. Worth it.
Beautiful country! Loved the tour guys
🙌🤙
Very beautiful natural scenery and waterfalls thanks for sharing excellent video congratulations 🙏
this is so stunningly beautiful that I sent it as a location for inspiration to Vegetable police in his previous video - I feel being surrounded by water is clearing and soothing and renewing
Yeah! The Pacific Northwest is so gorgeous!
Found You Last Night..Your My Favourite..Thanks Foreverything❤️
Awesome! I'm curious how you came across my channel?
This is stunning! Oregon is on my travel list this year, I will make sure to check these pools out when I visit! Visiting from our Facebook group nice channel 😊 I'm going to be adding some travel videos too in the next month or so.
Peas, Love & Pineapples That sounds great! I know they get crowded though in nice weather, so get there early. Also there's a TON of awesome vegan restaurants in Portland, Harlo and Off the Griddle had AMAZING breakfast/ brunch, enjoy!
50 degrees.... I bet you guys were in and out pretty quick. Beautiful place. You are like a swimming hole aficionado. Great video.
Stayed in a little too long at Opal Pool and my body was shutting down, ended up injuring my foot when I slipped off a climb down from retrieving my camera. All good though.
You are so brave. I would be scared to jump in the water😂. The creek looks so beautiful and peaceful. Great video.
Thanks! Sometimes I get so overwhelmed by the beauty that I just jump right into it, lol.
Im a nature person and i love adventure.Im planning to go there next week on my day off.Very nice video of yours.Like always!
Have fun!
Great video, gorgeous water!
Thanks! Yeah that place is beautiful.
Another great video and location 👍🏼👍🏼
Glad u enjoyed it!!
I was there yesterday and it was SUPER fun. I jumped from the same places you did and some people jumped that really huge one and it looked super scary!
Nice! Yeah that high one did not have deep enough water for me.
Thank you for the video, Brazilian viewer here. I ended up here pretty randomly, but boy did I find this place BEAUTIFUL.
🤙thanks!!
This is absolutely stunning! I love it! :)
Yeah it really is breathtaking
But the water is cold but it's really pretty
So pretty that the cold doesn't matter ;)
The slide is actually really fun, I’ve done it a couple times! And I’m a big chicken. One of the best hikes I’ve done. Your videos are well done and addictive, so I had to subscribe! Thanks for sharing, and stay safe. 😎✌️
Thanks so much, welcome to the party 🥳🤙
I love it!
🤙
Que hermoso y mágico lugar ❤️
🤙
I’m in awe of this place. I almost drowned here when I was five and haven’t been back in a long long time. I think I need to check it out again.
Yeah it's one of my favorite places in the PNW
Oh man the courage and experience you have jumping off .. AMAZING!! 😯❤️

@@JesseStLouis 💙
Thanks luoise you rock! I hope this part, especially the pools area was not burned by the recent fire! If it did it can hurt me, as this is my fav place 😢
Man that looks so nice
It was awesome! But soooooo cold
Awesome
🤙
Me encanto todo muy limpio bonito
Si muy bonito
Great video, going to have to check this lace out.
Sweet, enjoy and keep it clean🤙
Always, we usually pick up trash on our way out of places we hike.
🤙
so beautiful! im going there again in a couple weeks and omg the water is freezing
Oh yeah!
How cold exactly is it???
From what I understand that whole area is closed after a fire last year
@@JesseStLouis damn, I'm moving to Portland in 3 days. I'm sure it'll open up eventually.
There's still an endless amount of beautiful places to explore in Oregon and Washington. Have you seen my PNW playlist? czcams.com/play/PLgebiYsPxyGwXlM24szR2NZfWepwJqIk4.html that will give you some good starting points but it's just the beginning. Enjoy
nice score having it to yourselves SO BEAutiful!// but yeah that slide looks a little tight for an adult
Yeah man, totally worth the shivering, lol
Dang that must've been cold. You're crazy. Lol.
Crazy cold but totally worth it
I just went there today with a friend and it was so sick!
Excellent
Check out these other PNW adventures: czcams.com/video/gbByHX3uO78/video.html
Hey bud! I went down the slide this summer and I’m much bigger than you! Well, maybe not taller but fatter for sure! I’m 6’ and weight 255 and that narrow part at the bottom is not bad at all and it’s a nice shallow ending. Hope you give it a try one time!
Thanks for the tip!! I love that area so I will definitely be back.
Awesome video 😍👍🏼 Where is it best to park to get to the different pools?
There is a parking lot at 3 Pools Day Use Area
I found this place on accident, definitely a wonderful spot.
Yes indeed
Yo jesse, have you ever been through mt shasta and mt Lassen in northern California?
Not yet, but I definitely wanna check it out.
Is there a campsite for tent or cabin and water rafting nearby here?
sick video man, what kinda shoes are the red ones in the video?
Those are wool socks, lol. They offer decent grip for climbing and walking on wet rocks. Way better than my Keens.
Man some beautiful spots. What month did you go? Planning of checking these spots out in October.
We were there in May, but they had a bad fire in that area last year and it's been devastated.
Wow no one there! I went in late august last year and three pools was packed.
Got go when it's still cold, lol
How long is the hike or walk to there?
3 Pools is quick
i didnt realize i was watching this video ×5 and i was like wow this video is bad 😂 my dumbass
Lol
How tall would you say that first jump is near the first pool?
It's been awhile...maybe 25feet?
Jesse St Louis thanks it’s been a favorite spot with my buddies and we were having an argument on the height lol
Hi I saw your review on opal creek. Do you happen to know the address? I’d appreciate if you could forward it - thank you.
Opal Creek trailhead is on Google maps
Jesse St Louis thank you!
Your so lucky to go there, I heard there’s a hole in the river that’s like 25ft deep
really?
@@JesseStLouis yes, I think it was from a website talking about the 6 best swimming holes in Oregon and it mentioned that the creek you swam in is 25ft deep in an area.
Interesting I didn't know that... maybe up by the bridge?
@@JesseStLouis possibly. It may be a little less or more now depending on the season and again I’ve never been there myself but the article I read did say there’s a hole there around 25ft deep
I'm going to 3 pools tomorrow
Have fun
Saucy
Yes
is three pools open right now
Probably not, they had a bad fire up there😥
@@JesseStLouis oh i was there when the fires happened they kicked us all out cuz of the fires
@@Thepro_1407 yeah it's so sad
Where do you get the money and time to travel like this?
I have a job that is flexible with time off, but most of my trips lately are long weekends or around holidays. As far as money, it's about prioritizing what is important for you. I dont have kids, a mortgage or a car payment. I dont drink or smoke.
Jesse St Louis wow, this is really inspiring, if you dont mind would you tell me do you like live in a rv appartement for rent? Im just trying to do the same as you haha
Just a regular apartment
Mid 50s and you jumped in?? Fuckk being there in the 80s the water is still shocking cold.
I go there at least once a year
Lol, it was worth it
Jesse St Louis i just went to three pools yesterday and the water is not as cold as it used to be. The water level has gone down quite a bit in like the last two years, still had fun though. Cant imagine what its gonna look like in 10 years
Opal pool jump is 40 feet on the other side
oh yeah!
Yea. I go there every year. There are so many nice spots. Next time you. Walk the river from the first bridge until sawmill falls. Trust me!
🙌
People are playing fortnite, but things like this are just too beautiful to ignore
Reality is WAAAAY better than fortnite!
The fire destroyed all of this. It is so sad.
😪 yeah, I feel so lucky to have experienced it before the fire. Any news on when it might reopen?
so sad to see such a beautiful place like this be destroyed i went just last summer for the first time ever and i unfortunately has to trespass to enjoy this beautiful place. the forest is burnt down along with all of the bridges to slide falls and other places you can’t take a car across anymore the bridges are burnt black. the only place you can make it to is three pools it is just as beautiful and one of my favorite places to visit in oregon but not being able to pass the bridge definitely made us upset please if you sneak in do not continue past three pools it is very dangerous and we had to turn around on the side of a canyon cliff full 180 we could have fell at least 500 down you will be able to tell you have gone to far if you start driving through tight fallen trees it feels like a tunnel
