Went to the Isle of Arran today. On the ferry back I sat next to some members of a Welsh choir from South Wales. They were sitting at various tables and all of a sudden a group of them started singing, and the rest of the choir joined in. They sounded fantastic. A man from the choir told me they were going to be singing in Stirling and in Dunblane next. It was a miserable wet day in Arran today, but listening to the choir more than made up for it. What a treat.

Im not really sure why I watch this it’s so mundane nothing really happens ,just Sean making tea and doing his shopping and spending time in his kitchen with the occasional bit of gardening , but I find it so relaxing just watching and listening to him and if my mind wonders it doesn’t matter I really haven’t missed anything.

My microwave broke and I didn't think we needed a new one but during the winter I missed it, for doing left overs and soups and my son does beans in it, so think about putting it in the other room as you may regret losing it, yes they take up room in a small kitchen but it doesn't need to be there if not used often

Yes, I thought the same, but I use it a fair bit for reheating my coffee when I've let it go cold. Also, for a jacket potato for a few minutes before putting it in the air fryer to finish off and crisp up the skin.

I saw Nye last week - at the cinema. It is showing around the country at certain cinemas. There was a Q&A with the writer after the screening I saw and that was so interesting. What a great show and fantastic performances. Not only was the NHS Nye's legacy but he was also responsible for a huge boom in building much needed housing. And his wife, Jennie Lee, had a fantastic legacy too.

I visited Hawaii 43 years ago when I lived in BC, Canada. Almost all flights into Hawaii land at Honolulu on Oahu, which is densely populated. Kawaii (30 minute flight from Honolulu) is the lushest, most beautiful island - exactly the tropical paradise of my dreams. Maui (40 minute flight from Honolulu) has the most barren hinterland but the most beautiful beaches. I now live in East Coast Canada, so the Caribbean is now my tropical destination. BUT - NOTHING quite compares with my visit to Kawaii. BEAUTIFUL!!!

Hi Sean. We visited Hawaii in April 1996 when we returned from Australia. We stayed a month & did the 4 main islands spending one week on each. Lahaina was the favourite but sadly raised to the ground now. However April is beautiful weather wise a lovely 24°.. & on our wish list at that time of year was to go out on the water to see the whales which we did , something I will never ever forget & a must do! We did it on a shoe string booking everything ourselves & self catering or eating out which was reasonable back then. Snorkeling is another must do! & swimming with the amazing sea life on the reefs. Plan ahead, leave nothing to the last moment & you will have the holiday of a lifetime 💙🤍❤

Sean, Have you tried to put a piece of wood from wall to wall where the fridge is all the way to under the cabinets. You can paint it black or cover it with black contact paper so it looks similar to the rest of the kitchen counters. Now you can have the fridge, your microwave and a small shelf to use as a small pantry, maybe to have your kitchen appliances or put away your pots and pans. That will look something like this: the sink and window, to the right of that the shelf, again to the right of the shelf will be the fridge and last but not least the microwave. This will give you more counter space and you still have the use of the cabinets under the fridge. Is just an idea.

Hawaii in October is perfect. We enjoyed two weeks there a year ago. The weather was warm but not hot. Enjoyed the beaches, historic sites and watched some championship surfing competitions. Amazing. We were staying on the island of Oahu for this visit. Stayed in the capitol city of Honolulu. I can list some places that are a must see if you are interested. A car is definitely needed to tour the island and enjoy the various beaches, little towns and historic sites. Pearl Harbor is a must see.

I Love your harmonica opening song....its such and easy going happy tune. I find myself humming it while I garden. The broken cup story....wow it looked fairly well packaged sad state of affairs.....Normally I try to repurpose things too, but if it's giving a bad feeling everytime you use it. I say toss it if it's not bringing joy, in your life ....But it's up to you, if you love the cup, and it makes you happy that's different. I ask myself would my life be happier with it or without it? I am giving a lot to goodwill to repurpose. Simple life.

As for Hawaii, it depends on which island you go to. I have a personal love of Oahu and Pearl Harbor specifically, but Navy so I would go see the Arizona Memorial whenever we would pull into the harbor. The battleship Missouri, where the Japanese signed the surrender, is also ported in Pearl now as well. I was able to get a tour onboard when she was anchored in Bremerton, Washington in the mothball fleet at the Naval Shipyard many years ago. A fantastic bit of history there!

Used to work in Hawaii. Oahu is way too touristy; Maui’s gotten too resort -focused. The Big Island has an amazing variety of landscapes, plus horseback riding and hiking. Kauai is awesome, beaches, mountains, canyons, and Molokai is generally less crowded. Lanai is ultra-expensive, with limited places to stay. All depends what you’re looking for. Try to go in the off-season - after the summer heat and crowds, before the winter visitors take over. February -April, end September-beginning November used to be the best times.

Gravy! I'll be having that tomorrow. Had boiled potatoes fried in butter 🧈 the other day after months of low carb and it was heavenly. Down 35 pounds so can modify what I eat. China: look at the places that sell used sets you might find something vintage and to your taste. I like things that had a life with someone else but now need a new owner. I had half a slice of cinnamon raisin bread with butter and am on cloud nine. Vegetable stew tomorrow. Step counters have a setting for stride length, which is important. I have a shorter stride. And if I don't move my arm it doesn't always count. But if I use a map version it seems pretty accurate. Sometimes I walk zig zags and patterns which makes a funny end of walk map to amuse friends on the same app.

the step counter measures the individual wearing it. maybe the most steps were for someone with shorter stride. That person would have to take many more steps than someone with a longer stride. I get around 100 steps a minute at regular walking speed. I have short legs.

If you stay on the island Oahu there are public buses that will take you all over the island. You can purchase the bus cards at most ABC stores. Lots of history lessons to learn, beautiful beachs when you get away from Honolulu. (Which has a lot of homeless people) Fuel for cars is expensive and finding a place to park is a challenge. Most places , parks and museums, require reservations in advance. We were there December 2022, between the busy Thanksgiving holiday and busy Christmas/New Year. Weather was in the mid 70's. Best of luck.

Good morning.I went to Cardiff to a Christmas market which was located somewhere opposite the castle and through a shopping mall/centre?We went on a coach and almost missed our ride home due to the main street being closed off to traffic as a football match was on and all the fans were being escorted to the ground by police on horses.Troube was no one told the coach company so they had to park elsewhere and we werent told where..eventually we found it.!

You've had a jam-packed weekend. I have been to Kauai Island and its nice. Small island. Lots to see. Its a long flight from London. You may want to book some activities in advance and figure in the jet lag. I had a timeshare and had to rent a car. I think a package deal might work better if you want a car.

Hawaii's high season is the winter. Everything will be more expensive from September 15 to April 15. I recommend going just before or after the season for best weather and lower rates. For me the most interesting islands are Kauai, "the garden isle", for natural beauty (don't miss Waimea, Hawaii's answer to the Grand Canyon) and the Big Island for volcano sightseeing (helicopter ride over the eruption, hiking on old craters and lava fields). If you're into surfing, the north shore of Oahu (the island where Honolulu is located) is the place to be. Also on the north shore is the Polynesian Cultural Center with craft demos, authentic luaus and hula/fire dancing shows. Honolulu is worth about a 2-3 hour visit to souvenir shop and/or look at Waikiki Beach, but traffic is dreadful all over that island. A fun place to shop is Bailey's second hand store (in the Diamond Head neighborhood) for a huge selection of vintage Hawaiian shirts and other kitschy memorabilia such as hula dancer lamps. Maui is nothing but a tourist trap.
