- BMX handlebars on my mountain bike is pure dreams - The MTBMX is born! I fit BMX bars on my Canyon Stitched 720 slopestyle mountain bike and push the limits, riding dirt jumps, skateparks and gaps! Would you try this?
I owke up and felt like sending it today, so I fitted some high rise BMX handlebars on my slopestyle bike and created a whole new sport and its incredible, my new 26'' wheeled full suspension BMX is the best thing on earth and it does wonders for those with back pain! I get crazy at local skateparks, the big jumps of Twisted Oaks Bikepark, a BMX track and the final spot which was a small little skatepark where the unthinkable happened! Would you fit these handlebars on your Canyon MTB?

I did this back in the late 90's in Santa Cruz. My first full sus frame was an XL Heckler. When it cracked, I already had a Super 8 to ride around so I warrantied it for a size medium (In orange to match my Bomber.) slapped some GT BMX bars on there and it was amazing. I'm 2m so it was very much a 26" full suspension BMX bike. I did use lower bars than that though.
Yep, we tall used to put BMX bars on XL bikes until finally there was big enough bikes like the DirtySixer!😎

This was what I did as a child 25 years ago. Mountain bike with bmx handles and stun pegs or the bmx with mountain bike tyres. Dam I feel old now 😂

Box one makes a set of bmx bars with a 31.8mm clamp area, which means you can use a mtb stem to fit them.

@@SamPilgrim I've seen you ride a lot of crazy bikes but I'm just curious what would happen if you took a bike like the xxs grand canyon young hero or xxs neuron young hero and threw some bmx bars in it. The frame would be way smaller then your regular bikes but then you'd still have control by having bars that could work for your height! Mtbmx?

I actually ride a 4.5" rise BMX bar on a top mount stem on my Transition PBJ because I am 6'2", 49 years old, and I can't lean over and pull up with low rise bars.
I have an old 2013 ns holy one DJ that I put bmx bars on a few years ago just for cruising around lol I am happy to see this video Sam you rock

Yes Sam taking it back to the old school with those turn down flips so sick know the feeling of a bad back had to carry my glory up 10 floors to my friends flat after a Long Day street riding since 10 AM this morning and speaking of the wind hitting big stair caps in the wind. is not a nice feeling it’s sketchy AF
Seeing turn downs and flip turn downs are the best trick, coming from bmx to more dirt jumpers and MTB it's the one trick I miss more than anything that's just not possible on a DJ

I thought it was fine. Haven't done Crankworx for ages now so I assume they are cutting costs where they can because never seemed to be an issue back in the day.
i feel like if you got some old school bmx bars that are really low, it would be better. these seem just a tad too high!!
