    I should add that Moza did send me this wheel for free, which I should have mentioned in the video, but it has not affected my review. I already have DD wheels from Fanatec, Thrustmaster and Logitech in my possession which have all been gifted to me - you can see them in the background of my footage or the reviews on this channel.
    I have chosen to use the Moza because it's the one I prefer. You'll also note there's no affiliate links here because their shipping prices are too much to make an affiliate programme work, so I don't stand to gain anything if you choose Moza over anyone else.
    I should have disclosed that it was gifted to me, but it slipped my mind because at no point did that remotely affect my opinion on the wheel and never would - I will always disclose if I have been paid for something or if a gift is influencing my video in some way

      Yeah no for sure ha I've been a loyal Gillonator for awhile and watching you upgrade throughout has been great, seems like everyone left Fanatec and quite honestly with the "issues" surrounding them now makes me as a consumer nervous for the future but good thing is that as far as DD's go the market has never been better! How did you like the Thrustmaster I haven't got my hands on that one yet that's one I haven't, Asetek was brilliant I think honestly they are up there with simucube which is saying ALOT but also comes with the price tag. Id be keen to try the R9-12 V2 because it seems like your happy with it and so are plenty of others and they have great rims which Fanatec still hasn't come out with an F1 style rim with a screen..Keep up the brilliant work man, I was really really rooting for you in creator series hahah hoping for Ben and Skyz to bin it, still happy for Ben but also congrats on the win!!

    Moza and Simagic are doing wonders in the market. Great price and FFB, a standard Quick release for more wheel support, and their wheels are awesome. being able to just slap an NRG QR on any old wheel and use t for my sim is awesome. USB C has it's place and it is nowhere near sim racing. You need a chunky female connector that has solid solder footing, which USB C can't offer. There's a reason why the older style connectors have stood the test of time. HDMI monitors are good, but guess which cables and connectors broke first at college after several classes of abuse between HDMI & the blue screw type ones.

    • @Tyler_Evans0411
      @Tyler_Evans0411 Před 26 dny

      @@24hrsSimRace the lap times initially were slower as I was not used to the forces, but over time I think it’s about 1-2 tenths because skill matters more imo
      My t300 had alot of belt slip and thus I had to turn the force feedback down to not have my steering unaligned after a few turns.
      The big thing for me was when doing any form of gt or oval racing as when you are on the straight and the wheel is unloaded there is a lot of “wiggle room in the wheel” to where you can move it left or right a couple of degrees with no force feedback. While with the moza there’s force feedback in those areas
      Any other questions I’d be happy to answer or if you feel this answer was insufficient I’d be happy to elaborate more

    While not in the same price range, I had some similar experiences that you did when swapping out my CLS DD 8Nm with an Asetek Invicta base and wheel. There is just so much detail that is missing with the CSL DD that I can now feel so clearly on the Asetek base. Not sure how much of that is due to the much better Asetek quick release, but I suspect it is a mix of both base and QR.

I don't get as much free time to use it as I wish I could, so upgrading to a DD base is something that may only happen in the future. But, Moza is the front runner if I do. The only thing is I.would like to try out a DD wheel and load cell pedal first to see if it is something I'd even want, but not too sure I can find anywhere near me that would have a display to test out.

      Same T300RS, TLCM Pedals, TH8A shifter and SF1000 wheel all on a GT Omega wheelstand. I move them from the back room to the living room on a furniture dolly and hook them up to PS3,4,5. If I'm lucky I get to drive every few weeks.
      I either need a gaming laptop or pc before I can consider direct drive. And I'm I'd need a dedicated room and a cockpit. Before all that, I need time to actually use my current setup.
      Which is a love hate relationship as I'm getting better, butvI suck. Lol
      I think Moza would be my choice unless I end up with the Thrustmaster DD. I'd be good with TM if the T818 has a QR that I can fit to my SF1000.

But, even though I have the TM ecosystem, and there is an adapter to add my Sparco P310 to the T818, I just feel like the T818 base is bulky and plastic compared to the major DD brands that are smaller and metal.
      And my GT Omega classic wheel stand is movable to a point. After buying another shifter plate and bracket from GT Omega, and then getting a sealed in box Classic for $20 CND at a Amazon clearance store, it does not fold down any more. Lol

    • @purpletigerracing7087
      @purpletigerracing7087 Před měsícem +1

      @shawndixon4536 yeah, my I don't think my GT Omega folds either as everything is bolted to it.
      It weighs about 60 - 80 lbs or 27 - 36 kilos. So I usually just tilt it and put it on or take it off a little furniture dolly. Moves ok. Takes up about 2x3 foot of space in a corner. So roughly 1/2 a square meter maybe.
      I'll have to look at the T818 again, since you're saying it's not as premium looking. I personally think the T300RS looks nice, but definitely like a high end toy. It's a good unit, works well andvI enjoy my experience, but If I'm moving to DD I want the more premium adult toy looking appearance lol.

So it stays in place unless we clean or reorganize the room. But before we created this space, I have a Thrustmaster Ferrari Wireless GT Cockpit 430 Scuderia Edition. Being an all-in-one, folding, wireless steering/pedals set, I could sit on the sofa, my aged gaming laptop (or PS4) connected to our 70" TV and game. Or, because it ran off of 4 AA batteries, could bring it out on the back porch or in the yard and race out there. Only thing was I missed having force feedback and felt like I couldn't get a feel for even the easier racing. I am very happy with my T300 and it would take getting a bunch of money and spare time, or a great price (I mean dirt cheap stole it price) for me to move to DD any time in the near future. Plus if I got a DD, I would HAVE to go full motion setup, larger triples than my current 24" monitors, maybe a better VR than my used $50 CND Acer mixed reality, oh, and one of the kids to move out so I can get one of their rooms as a dedicated race room. Just in case I want that protection of having a unit with a brand I dont need to worry about supporting software etc. I love love my dd+ its almost as good as the ultimate. Its def as good as the alpha in power but the one thing about the dd+ is it always had a little more dampening or drag in the wheel like most fanatec products. The simagic has probably the smoothest and fastest shaft meaning almost no friction even when off. Its just a looser feel which makes rhe ffb feel more active when its on. And no im not talking about weight. Thats there a ton lol. Its just fanatec has this always on dampening no matter what you do but it doesnt actually hurt detial as weird as that is.

    I wont lie the moza has a nice raw snappy feel to it compsred to fanatec. But fanatec feels smoother and more polished. It depends on which feel you want more. Im one who wants smooth and raw like simagic. But moza would probsbly he my choice now over fanatec if I knew then what I know now. But the dd+ is a different story tjings a monster. I still main my 23nm simagic ultimate though I prefer its rounded smoother feel.
    Also ive proven many times that wheels do make you faster. Im faster on simagic over fanatec csl dd the dd+ gets close but no i prefer the feel of simagic with loading and unloading feel when cornering and i can push past the grip of needed thats the issue with fanatec. The center forces are almost to tight so when you pushed past ypu would just lose control with moza, simagic and simucube you can turn in that much more almost tbrough the forces without losing control. Its why ive found i much prefer a more loose less dampened feel even when more power. I eant to be able to push through the forces not the forced push through me. Fanatecs issue is they use built in dampening and that limits the feel that im talking about.
    But the reason why you were faster here was the pedals worked with you and the base. It wasnt just the base.
    Also something to consider you made that pb 2 days beofre this it could have been you were just hitting the point of getting better who knows.
    You were also mobing from a 5 to 8nm base to a 9nm base thats really over 10nm so you are getting that much more dynamic range for it telling you whats going on. That probably is it.

    I don't get how people keep saying this is an alternative to Fanatec, taking out the postage and getting it from a UK supply, The R9 base is £410, The cheapest GT wheel the KS is about £260, That's £670, If your happy with an after market power supply you can get the McLaren RTR bundle for £500 all in, For about 20-30 quid on top of that 670 you could also make up a Hub V2 wheel.
    Yes you may not have a metal QR1(And I have never had any trouble with QR1), But your talking 8nm, The best starter GT wheel on the market and a set of pedals for 500 quid, Even if you source the same set of cheap Fanatec pedals for the Moza setup it takes it up to about £740.
    And let's not forget, both are classed as starter bases.

      And lets be honest, If Fanatec wasn't in the news at the moment with there problems, Would the odd quality problem here and there be making the same waves, Probably not.
      And you have to talk about price, We are not talking an extra 50 or 60 quid, We are talking near on 300.

    Fanatec got complacent with the initial lack of competition and has just failed to inovate on their product. The price premium for console compatibility is something that could likely push away most of their target audience since if someone is buying a $500+ DD wheelbase they surely aren't going to play only Forza and GranTurismo. Those shelling out that kind of money are most likely chasing the most hardcore sim titles and are on PC already. And on top of that the struggles that the company is facing right now are just a cherry on top of an already failing business.

    It doesn't take much to swing people over to one way of thinking and sadly they're not conscious of the bias, also natural. Ask any psychologist if it matters to you. I'll keep looking for the genuine reviewers but so hard to find now.

  • @LargeStyle
    @LargeStyle Před 2 měsíci

    I'm perfectly happy with my Fanatec GT DD Pro and see no reason in this video why I or anyone else should change to Moza if they already have an equivalent Fanatec setup.
    99.99% of people who already have a Fanatec setup won't be gifted a complete Moza setup for free so will continue to stick with Fanatec as their equipment works just as well as Moza. Even if someone gave me a full Moza setup now I'd sell it on as I see no benefit in changing from what I have.
    I get that Moza is your choice and preference due to liking the quick release, the unique pedal functionality, and the software, but Fanatecs QR systems work fine, their load cell pedals already work perfectly, and their software (when using Fanalab) gets you manufacturer recommended settings within seconds and once configured never needs touching again.
    If you'd presented this video taking an approach of "Moza offers a competitive package to Fanatecs" then that would've been so much better and actually useful compared to "I've changed to Moza because I personally like it despite it not being significantly different and because it was free" which circumstantially applies to absolutely no-one but other simracing CZcamsrs.
    You may've had good intent to show off Moza in a good light but all you've mainly done is made a pointless and irrelevant video that demonstrates CZcamsr status exploitation.

The steering wheel matters when you are looking for these limits, but you are so far from them that it is hardly a matter of the base. I don't know, maybe this is a promotional video.
