- So today I'm going to show you just how easy it is to Tax a VEHICLE here in Thailand.
Do you own a Scooter, Car, Motorbike?
Is your Road Tax Due?
If your answer is yes then this video will show you how to do it even if your vehicle is older than 5 years.
Vehicles that are 5 years or older will need a safety test / Vehicle Inspection a little like the British M.O.T, I will show you where to take them and what to expect, Paperwork and of course, all the costs involved.
I shall also cover The Land Transport Office, This is where you apply for the road TAX.
Phuket Land Transport Office: goo.gl/maps/C1...
Vehicle Inspection Station: goo.gl/maps/ZZ...
If you are an Ex-pat or considering living in Thailand then at some point you will need to renew your vehicle Road Tax.
This video will help you.

Wow 2 minutes in and Iâve learned nothing other that he likes his own voice. Donât waste your time
lol 2 minutes in đČ maybe you should try actually watching the video.... Always people who just wanna moan even though when your trying to help for 'FREE'
Thanks for video buy according to driving rules - 5 years for bikes and 7 years for cars
Good stuff Tony. What about a vlog on buying a bike/scooter, esp if your only a regular traveller to Phuket, not living there that is?
Thank You đ
Thank you, its really useful information!
Tried the DLT road tax website, it won't accept the ID Number from my Thai drivers license. Also tried to download the app, error message says, "unavailable in your Country", Thai phone Thai server....Why am I NOT surprised đ€Ł
unfortunately, I.T is not Thailand strongest area đ but it easy & straightforward to go in person
so when buying a second hand bike, is it the green book one has to check to see whether the yearly tax has been paid ad up to date?
Yes, at the back is should show when the Tax was updated. Never buy a second hand bike without the green book đ
just for your info mate , motorbikes are after 5 years but cars , pickups and trucks are after 7 years ...
your welcome Tony NO need to thank me ....lol
Hi Tony. I am planning to get an insurance and sticker tomorrow because it's already due.
I just need the green book right?
I still dont have my drivers license, i just want to make sure that theyre not going to look for it.
Thank you.
Yep just green book and test certificate if your vehicle is over a certain age đ
Can you pay the tax if you donât have the green book ? Iâve lost it during moving đŹđŹ
It's going to be very difficult to tax it without the green book you will need to take your last tax to the police station and report the green book lost they will issue you with a paper that you will need to take to the land transport office to get a new green book then you will be able to tax the vehicle. You need a green book to be able to tax a vehicle.
Hi Tony useful info I finally got to go to phuket for a month in Jan, does the insurance cover the person or the bike? My thai girlfriend did all the riding on her bike because I was concerned I was not covered to ride it!
The Insurance is for the bike, not the individual person.... So as long as the bike has insurance and you have the right license scooters needs a full Motorbike license you can ride it đ
@@thailandtony Thanks Tony thats good to know.
