    Thank you so much. Followed your instructions and the dishwasher drained. I was lucky enough not to even need to disassemble as much as you demonstrated....just removing the hub and filter was enough to get to what was clogging the drain line (including one very large coffee bean!).

    Dude!! Awesome walkthrough. We’re renting our house and I just wanted to fix the clogged drain myself. This was what I needed. Better than a schematic!

    Thank you for taking your time to record this video and share the how to! Strange that GE made it so difficult to clean the filter when you have to disassemble the entire dishwasher internals. While looking for the right video I noticed some other GE models allow to remove and clean the filter without unscrewing any other parts. Plumber conspiracy is real?? 😮

    If you follow the step in the video and it still won't start....Be sure to allow the door remains open, for 2-3 minutes after restoring power. This will reset the machine if it was stuck on a cycle when it stopped. Came upon this subject by mistake but it worked. " Found shredded power towel in my drain basket."

    I followed your instructions exactly and it worked! Getting the basket out was the hardest part. It takes some fiddling. I think tilting the right side helped. Thanks for taking the time to post this

    I don’t see you fixed any things all you did is taken them apart and putting them back. What’s the issue?

      The issue was the filter. It was clogged and was not letting water pass through. Clean both filters.

    Unfortunately, your video didn’t work for me. I actually wrecked the basket filter trying to take it out using a fork. You wouldn’t happen to have the part number to replace that basket would you?

    At time mark 4:00, you mentioned rotating the centerpiece counter-clockwise and it comes out easily. Well, what if I'm still rotating and it still doesn't come out, what is the next step?

      Is the piece stuck in place or did you get it loose and you keep turning it but it’s not coming out?

    Mine is hardwired into the wires not a plug so do i have to turn off the power off to the turned off dishwasher cause it still always is like plugged in even when you turn off something and its still plugged in you can get shocked..

      In your case, make sure you unplug the dishwasher and any other sources of electricity.

      @@tanishkumar9602 yes, how? I have to turn off the power to my house because it is hardwired into the electrical wiring there is no plug!! Scarey.

      @@tamarakennedy4976 there should be a breaker specific to you kitchen. Turn that off. I didn't turn the electricity off. You are just dealing with external parts. You are not being exposed to any electrical parts.

      @@tanishkumar9602 from bottom, which is covered, difficult to open. i see water on the floor. i opened it up. the water level of the out part seems higher than it should be

      You should remove the plastic mesh at the bottom of the dishwasher and then clean the plastic grey filter.

      The grey filter was dirty and clogged in my case. Clean it out and see if that solves your problem.
