      The old GE's and Hotpoints from the 80's wouldn't burn up, but the damned pump shafts will stick inside the seals constantly. I can't count how many techs and supervisors I've caught trying to throw away a dishwasher because the pump shaft was stuck.

    Hi Lex Vance
    I appreciate all your dishwasher GE videos as I am a new homeowner. The home we bought came with a new GE dishwasher but with in the one year warranty it broke down and a tech came to fix it at no cost because of the 1 year warranty. The dishwasher broke down again the second year, it was the timer it melted. We had to pay $200 for the labor and parts. If I can’t fix this dishwasher on my own which dishwasher in your opinion is the best to invest in? I can’t deal with this GE crap!

  • @realSamAndrew
    @realSamAndrew Před 2 lety

    Hey Sir Lexus, I have a GE dishwasher from around 1989 that is very similar to this one, except for the style/looks. It drains fine when running, but after the unit sits up for a few days unused, water creeps UP from the bottom and starts spreading from back to front in a shallow puddle by about 1 inch per day. Inches long and wide, only about a quarter inch high! I find I can drain it back out by turning it on as a new cycle (empty w no detergent) and the first step is to pump out the water. Then I will catch the right moment before the spray and manually turn it back off. Days later there is a new wet spot.
    Do you have any wisdom on something like this?

    • @LexVance
      @LexVance  Před 2 lety

      Weird. The only thing I can think of is water creeping back up the drain hose due a garbage disposal that's kind of clogged. If the disposal isn't draining well, water rises up to drain hose and goes back down into the dishwasher. That's a weird one. 🤔
