In this episode, I bring you my Samsung Galaxy S20 vs LG V60 comparison! When comparing the two new smartphone lines, it becomes apparent that the real test is the LG V60 vs Galaxy S20 Ultra - the V60 ThinQ just has so many features packed into it that compete with Samsung's top-of-the-line smartphone rather than the entry-level standard Galaxy S20 - however, the LG V60 ThinQ 5G will sell for less than the cost of the entry-level S20!
What I've done here is compare the LG V60 ThinQ vs Samsung Galaxy S20 devices in 5 key areas that I think matter most to the average consumer, those being display, camera, performance, battery, and price. Stay tuned for the full Samsung Galaxy S20 review, and LG V60 review - both are coming soon!

Not mentioned is LG's phenomenal manual audio AND video controls when recording. I know this comparison is aimed at the typical user, but content creators are going to want the V60 hands down. You can do things on it that no other phone can do.
Samsung was traditionally the go to for those wanting point and shoot simplicity, but even that is in question now. With all the complaints about the S20's focusing problems, the V60 could take that spot as well.

    • @formless4541
      @formless4541 Před 3 lety +2

Manual camera hardly ever gets mentioned. The manual controls arent even the main reason for the manual mode being better. Even without adjusting the sliders/dials the quality is better because manual mode records with a higher bitrate. This important fact is never mentioned. So manual mode can be used as if it was auto and still be better but hardly anyone knows this

At the end of the day, why pay more for a few more features that you will probably never use? And that quad dac is out of this world. Best audio experience you will have on ANY smartphone period.

I currently have the Note 20 Ultra as my daily driver, however, after spending some time with the V60..my note will more than likely go back into the box and be stored as a collector's item for a later date. Keep up the good work nice to see LG getting equal time to samsung and apple by a few youtube tech channels that are fair and honest to all brands.
LG is definitely the best value, and usually have the best audio and pro video manual modes, while apple is good at the phone does everything modes.
I hope samsung and LG have good data rates with their video, focus peaking etc, without needing filmic pro at extra cost.
I consider the quad dac. high power amp headphone jack sd card superb audio recording all premium features all pro phones should have.
The dual case is just icing on the cake and does not have to be used all of the time, I am just imagining ways to use it at home and in the car with a good mount.
Navigation on one screen spotify and real fm/ local talk music radio split on the other from the headphone jack to aux port or using the aptxhd or ldac hidef audio formats.
Should be better and sound better then most infotainment systems in cars now.
My favorite for design this year is the no notch no hole Xperia 1 mark 2, I also prefer it's physical finger print scanner, and it's class leading 4K HDR 21/9 display, but it's battery is small, and it's dac/amp is not as good as LG's but it might just have the best balanced camera system.

That would be very worrying if true. LG is advertising the V60 with the words "Quad DAC" whereas Qualcomm never uses that phrase, so I don't think LG is removing their extra DAC. Maybe the inbuilt Qualcomm DAC is used in the non HiFi setting, or the info may be related to driving the speakers (rather than the jack).

I've found a Korean website (translated well by Google) that describes in addition to the Qualcomm DAC, there is an external Quad DAC. So all good!
However, DTS: X sound tech has been dropped for LG 3D sound engine.
Big News! The website says the V60 is the first V phone to support an active pen. 4096 pressure levels, & tilt recognition. But whatever this means, it uses EMR method instead of AES method (like Samsung). But it is Wacom based. The pen does not store on the device, and is thicker as it has is own battery.
Cool. Large Dual screen, Audio quality, and a pen. It's all set!
It just needs a IR blaster.
