    Amen! This is exactly my point. It may not be perfect, but LG ticked most of the boxes for a flagship phone in a price point that is affordable. Thank you... this will help buyers who tend to get confused with other reviewers clamoring for 120hrz. Great content. The only reason I kept the ultra is because I use it for my review videos and the front facing camera is better for that, and also, I can plug my mic right into it and then my portable SSD to drag and drop the files over. Other wise the refresh rate is nice but otherwise it's a bland and way overpriced phone.

I thought the headphone jack was too small too, but in my case, it just took a little extra pressure to feel a pop and get the headphones to work. My cords with elbows don't work, but straight cables do. 2, I don't know if it was what you meant, but you can have full screen texting in landscape by pressing the keyboard icon on the right side of the keyboard. The text screen will move to the top screen, and the bottom screen will be the keyboard. I agree no facial recognition and the gap between screens can be annoying. Thanks for the video

      I LOVED my G8. Got it when it came out in 2019. I did have to send it to warranty twice and both times they replaced the screen. It went haywire every five months.
      I moved on to the OnePlus 7 Pro a year later for the hidden front camera and 90Hz display and it just made the G8 feel like a laggy, stuttery mess.
      I started missing the headphone jack and Hi-Fi Quad DAC, so I ended up buying a V60 to fill that need, since the price went down.
      EDIT: I do suffer with 60Hz displays. They look so choppy compared to the fluid motion of high refresh rate displays.

    Hi TEchOdysee , I'm using a pixel 4xl, so I have a decent phone plenty capable. However that being so, I am looking for a backup with a newer chip. I'm drawn to this model for many reasons mainly 865 and size with headphone jack and large battery decent lenses. The only fear is the bootloader if it is locked or if it can be unlocked. If the latter ....I believe it is a no brainer. As support stops. The device can run further with battery swap and software flash. Opinions on this ? Thanks. Great video. My purposes or use of these is all channel use.

    i just got the v60 (w/dual screen 3 days ago (sunday 5-3-20) and... it's amazing. As, before this i had LG's 1st ever "V" phone.. the 150,000% lovely and... "way before it's time"...V10..!! yes, i've rocked a V10 for 5 years... just as their dac audio started... and has excellent cameras... it had a slow chipset.. an ancient qual. 808..!!!... but.. it rocked for 5 years NO ISSUES, one boot loop... got it fixed 5 years ago... fine ever since... has a dual screen on front!!... stainless steel frame....and not one....but...TWO LAYERS OF GORILLA GLASS 4 ON THE FRONT...!!..a wonderful "rubberized" / shock absorbing removable back cover to change out the battery....it's been dropped "a thousand times without a case"....on concrete, asphalt, etc...as high as 5 feet up....i refused to use a case to hide it's beauty...it never cracked/broke.... the phone is a beast.... it still works great, but the V60 pulled me in.
    now... from a V10 (w/2 screens on the front..). to a V60....(w/ 2 full screens period...!!)....
    all i can say is WOW..!!...
    (but i'm holding on to my V10.. one day it will be a collectors item..!! .)... on and off over the years i've had offers from folks who were crazy enough to offer me up to $800 cash for my V10.... because they are hard to find now...and they knew what it could do / has done...from way back in 2015... Hell, LG should do a "remake" of the V10.. call it a ..."V10-Retro"....(like carmakers do..i.e. dodge challenger, charger, etc.)..... and load it up with today's best chipset, a 865+...have a nice 90-120mhz. screen refresh.. ...a 16gb/512gb storage package...have it to look like the old V10.... and it'd sell like no tomorrow........

    • @TechOdyssey
      @TechOdyssey Před 4 lety +1

      Technically, I think the answer is yes. The camera is there and of course the hardware supports it. That's one of the curious reasons I don't understand why they didn't throw it in there... so, I believe so but who knows if they will. And thanks!

    • @realists7202
      @realists7202 Před 4 lety +2

      @@TechOdyssey Many reasons why they haven't added face unlock.
      1. It isn't as secure as apple's Face ID.
      2. It isn't that quick either.
      3. If a person is taking their time to show their face in front of the cam to unlock their phone, fingerprint unlocking takes the same or less amount of time.
      4. The phone unlocking preference of people in order is, Fingerprint > PIN > Face ID > Voice recognition.
      I guess that's why the left out the face id part.

    My only concern is the 1080p display. I’m really digging the V60, but 1440p is a must for me. Maybe their next V will offer that, but if not most likely I’ll just pick up a V60 as it might be cheaper once the newer version is out. Great review.

      I have 1080p, 1440p and 2160p computer displays and the differences are obvious. On the other hand, I've yet to be able to notice the difference of 1440p over 1080p resolution on my smartphones other than font size.
      The screen size of almost 7 inches is just too small for me to notice the difference in pixel density. I do notice high refresh rate. 60Hz looks laggy and stuttery to me on my LG and OnePlus phones. I kept my 7 Pro and keep my 7T Pro running at 90Hz.

    I like the phone more than the Note 10 plus, but I wish I could still have Samsung email. I love the flat screen. I HATE HATE HATE the curved screens of the Samsungs. Annoying. I love LG for two main reasons: first is that when you delete words in message, it goes at a nice pace, letter by letter, instead of deleting words at once; second is that you can add more than 5 apps, up to 7 actually, at the bottom constant app panel. It is my favorite option over all. Also, this phone has a headphone jack. The Note 10 plus doesn't have it, which is very irritating when you're driving in someone else's car and you want to plug in to their auxiliary. This is a nice, smooth, well-running phone.

    Good review here. LG gets a lot of hate towards it. They can improve on certain things however, I like them better than Samsung. I'm curious on what Velvet is going to be about spec wise. I have the G7ThinQ. I really enjoy the sound and the overall flow of the phone. I was thinking of waiting for the Velvet or buying this one but not sure yet. I rather a notch than tear drop but I guess I'll get used to that too. Wish my headphone jack on my current phone didn't go bad. Their sound quality is amazing.
    Good to hear they are not overly clunky with the skin they use over android. Don't mind the no facial recognition as I rather a fingerprint or pin. Good review man.

Of course it's important to have enough RAM and I think 8GB is the sweet spot right now for performance and future proof purposes. Even 6 would be OK but with the developments and app features and the OS itself, 8GB seems reasonable. 10-12 is definitely overkill.

    I think superior battery life and capacity is slept on, because most non replaceable battery phones are two year 1400 dollar devices. If you have a device that can last two days, well maybe three years from now you will still get over a day with degradation. I hate the trend of non replaceable batteries because it makes phone purchases even more disposable than they were before. V series is my favorite line of phone period though, don't see myself leaving LG anytime soon. The audio solution on this phone flies in the face of current trends and not only that but does it better than anybody else.
