Love seeing you do a video in your shop in a t-shirt at 17 degrees outside, congrats man.
Thanks so much Craig! It is amazing. Really blessed to have it this year. I'm not sure what is worse, the cold or the heat in the summer! Thanks so much as always for watching Craig!
Long weekend, so I finally got to watch this week's video. I'm not looking for one for shop use, but that heater looks pretty interesting, and at a pretty nice price, and the protractor may be pretty handy. Thanks for another fun video.
Thanks so much Pat! Sounds like you need a weekend from this weekend! :) Have a great week!
Merry Christmas!
Thanks so much Donald! Merry Christmas to you as well!
Happy holidays, Brian.
Same to you Paul! I hope you have a wonderful holiday! :)
Thanks for the video’s and a excellent choice of items for this show. I always find the information that you come up with interesting and informative. Thank you for what you do 😊
You are too kind Michael! Thank you so much. I know all of these items aren't necessarily woodworking items, but I think they will help to get some woodworking done! Thanks again for watchign and commenting Michael!
As always great video and great tools to look into thanks for sharing
Thanks as always for watching Jim! I really appreciate it!
When I was a commercial electrician we would daily have a morning safety meeting. One particular morning was extremely cold for Houston. Everyone was shivering and rubbing their hands during the meeting. At the end of the meeting, the General Foreman said, “The heat is in your tools! Get to work!” 😂😂😂
Haha! I love it. That sounds like something I would have said. It was so cold last year in my shop. I literally would take a hot shower every time I recorded a video. I was even telling another viewer that I would get slurred speech sometimes it was so cold!
@@FlynndoggWoodwork wow! Yah, that’s a symptom of the onset of hypothermia. Been there, done that… oof!
@@Damon_Barber Oh wow! I had no idea on that! :( I think part of it has to do with a surgery I had a few years ago for a salivary stone I had too. 1/2 of my tongue has been numb since that surgery since they damaged a nerve. Makes it that much easier for me to slur! :)
The new shop is looking great. Congrats on the ability to make a winter-time video in a t-shirt. I eliminated the "cold shop syndrome" by moving from Chicago to Texas. Now I have "hot shop syndrome". Haha. Merry Christmas.
Oh man! I'm definitely jealous! It really is a blessing to be able to work in a t-shirt this time or year. Thanks so much for watchign and stay cool! Merry Christmas to you as well!
Good video, you always find stuff that bears a second look. The pinless moisture meter has me pondering a question…does it give you the moisture content at a depth of 2”, or does it give you the moisture content on a two inch thick board? If it goes 2” deep, then you could tell the moisture on a 4” thick slab, which is very significant. Merry Christmas to you and stay warm.
Excellent question Michael! It is my understanding that it goes 2 inches deep. I intend on using this for just the purpose you spoke about. Next time I purchase a slab, I will be taking this with me. When I get there I will probably ask to see what their readers says as well just to see how it compares. Thanks as always for watching!
👍👍
Thanks for watching Mark!
So how did you manage glue and finishes when in an cold shop?
Oh that was always a problem Kenneth. I had many instances where my glue "chalked up" Many of my projects have visible wood glue marks because of this. Didn't think it was a real problem until I had it happen to me all the time during the winter. Great question!
@@FlynndoggWoodwork right now my shop is a spot on our porch. Lol So I am trying to figure out how to still get stuff done.
@@kennethpulliam5031 Oh man, I feel you. If you are able to get those glue ups inside it would be amazing, but I 100% feel your pain. I've been dealing with that for the last 5 years.
Can you provide me with information about that insolation you have on your roll up door?
Great question. I know it was manufactured here in Indiana. The contractor I used to install them is Kyle from KRC Construction. Let me check with him.
@@FlynndoggWoodwork that would be fantastic. I need something like this for my garage shop
@@Gozeto17 I shot him a text to see who manufactured is, I'll let you know what I find out.
@@FlynndoggWoodwork thank you so much for going above and beyond.
@@Gozeto17 I have still not heard back from the contractor yet, but that doesn't surprise me. I tried to do a little research on my own and I believe he used a company called midwest garage doors. Not 100% sure but I believe that is the one.
It's not a "holiday" gift! IT'S A CHRISTMAS GIFT!!
Relax. To each his own
You're right, Buddy but I'm sure Flynn's heart is on the right place, and he probably doesn't want a ban for racism or some other nonsense 😂😂 Merry Christmas to You and Your family.
Whaa
Sorry to hear you suffered a traumatic brain injury in the war on christmas. Hope your VA benefits come through soon. Everyone is celebrating something this time of year. Nobody cares what you're celebrating. Nobody needs to subscribe to your world view.
Oh boy. I celebrate Christmas, but I know a lot of viewers aren't all Christian. In fact I know a few of my viewers are Jewish, etc. These are holidays too! :)
Hey seems most or all of your reviews are of China made products, do you review American made ones as well?
I would absolutely love to include more American made tools. Problem is, with a channel this small I'm on a pretty tight budget. I would be happy to feature more higher end American tools, but I haven't gotten much opportunities from these manufacturers yet. Great question though.
Dogg, man, are you gloating? Is that the best gift; a climate controlled shop? Oh, there it is...electric coat. It's our hands that take a beating out in the shop during winter. How much did you spend on these things that could have been put towards your sweet lathe? We love us some Lie-Nielsen and Veritas tools...miles better than Cantonese tools.
I know, it is hard to not show how much I appreciate the warmth of the shop this year. I would literally start slurring my speach when I was doing videos last year it was so cold! :) That sweet sweet lathe is coming, believe me. That and a sweet new sander :) I actually had some time to do a little more research while I was on vacation.
@@FlynndoggWoodwork Dogg, you are the man. We've never had a surface sander in the shop (used my buddy's when required), but that may be the Meat Workshop's purchase in the new year. Now if the dang shoulder would just heal.
@@themeat5053 Well, I'm trying to figure out if I want to get the same rigid occilating sander with the spindle attachment or try something new... I liked the rigid for it's price and flexibility but it might be nice to try something new.
