- The Yamaha WR450F is a bike that needs little introduction in Australia.
Already the most popular enduro model on sale, the WR450F has been a go-to option for trail riders and enduro enthusiasts alike for many years.
Now, the WR450F has come in for arguably its biggest single model change ever, adopting many of the elements successfully incorporated into the YZ450F motocross model in 2023.
Sam Charlwood jumped aboard the new 2024 WR450F at the national launch in Stroud, NSW.

The best WR ever
Looking forward to the new 250.
What they don't tell you is you have to purchase another $200 ECU in order to get more than 50% throttle (it's physically Limited) and its 50% down tuned from the factory you have to pay $200 in order to get anything more than 300cc power. BS. And of course they didn't tell me until after I bought my bike 24 wr450f 🤬
The Yz450 was 1k dollars cheaper too since it was on sale $500 and it comes with the ECU. I was pissed. Last Yami ill buy d/t deceitful practices like this.
damn, thats bullshit. id be pissed
I'm guessing it's due to emissions. I would not be surprised if the bike wouldn't pass with the upgraded ecu.
@brandonpoley on the fender it says this is for off-road use only. The ECU is on the cheaper model yz450f. That doesn't make any sense if it was for emissions both models would have the junk ECU.
So are we blaming covid for the outrageous increase in bikes over the past few years? This is just too much.
Price gouging at its finest!!
