Those 50cal shots were on point though , that bird got shredded.
Defending buildings especially that big is ridiculously easy. I'm in the army now specialising in urban combat and to have a reasonable chance of succeess while attacking we usually need 6:1 man superiority and even that is often not enough

Especially considering that a gold bar like that weighs almost 30 pounds

It will have a purpose down the line. Probably used to pay the mercs or something.

The only problem with this series is that the commander acts like every Soldier should act and the soldiers barely act like soldiers they act like little kids that got weapons and they're doing a special Forces mission
Master_G you basically just described battlefield
the only problem?
@@fictionperfectstudios well thats just not true. a good actor can act like an astronaut or a doctor or a soldier without actually being those things. thats the definition of acting.
Hm, it's almost like it's based on something. Battlefield, maybe? No, it's not like they mentioned it in the teasers, or anything, right?
Kevin Chapman yea like Johnny sins who acts as all of those and many more in his movies
After gearing up around 7:30 mark, you can see how the Marines were kinda dressed after Battlefield classes... Force Recon dude being a BF4 Recon lookalike, the pilot with the repair tool, ball cap and peltors, and the support gunner with that big-ass backpack, just like Support classes in BC2 or BF3 ran it... I love it :)
"Our brothers didn't give their lives so we could line our pockets" ... yeah they did so the bureaucrats could line theirs :D
Perfect reason to take 2 bars right there. Instead of some righteous shit that will get you no where. I dont like McNulty.
the name McNulty 😂
Bro, you know it. I was us army, not that its relevant. But... yeah, war is money friend. The corporations make money producing weapons, and those companies lobby (pay) for politicians that increase their profits.

I hope they realise that melting the gold won't get rid of it...
8:47 "keep your voices down"
10:34
me: ok then so much for that.
sure gold will melt like butter with little explosion....
ans even if it melts... it's still gold---
Its Thermite, which is hot enough to melt steel, and they got a shit ton of it, and then they launch it to spread it, it will take forever to put that back together, effectively making worthless.
@@WearingGoldluck Amazing, every word of what you just said was wrong.
First of all while thermite theoretically burns hotter than the melting point of steel it's not actually that good of burning through stuff as they show you in the movies. It's much better for welding stuff together when properly confined though.
Secondly incendiary grenades use thermate which is an "improved" thermite that burns hotter.
Thirdly no, they do not have a shit ton of it - they only use around 12 grenades which is not nearly enough to melt that gold.
Fourthly as much as they spread it hasn't really made it worthless - if anything that's just a minor inconvenience and won't actually take very long to put it back together.
Conventional gold mines make a profit excavating ore that has 8-10 grams of gold per 1000kg. Here in the buildings rubble the gold content wold be orders of magnitude higher than that (probably 100-500kg of gold per 1000kg of material).
Here's a part of my comment that I left below episode 1:
"And a personal criticism for the total disregard of the laws of physics (and logic) regarding gold that's featured in the movie:
First when one of the soldier steals a bar of gold (casually picks it up, puts it in his pants and then carries it for good while). If that bar of gold wes real it would weigh around 12kg (26.5lbs). There's no way you could just pick it up and carry it in your pocket like it was nothing.
Second is when they showed what looks like to be about 1260 bars of gold - that would be about 15t of it. If it was all 99.9% pure gold it would be worth around 713 million $ not 2.5 billion as they said.
Third is when they used 12 incendiary grenades to melt all that gold.
Melting gold is not a small feat - it's dense as hell, and you need to heat it up to around 1100°C. Melting 15t of gold would require at least 2128.5MJ of energy and that's assuming all that energy went completely, instantly and evenly into all that gold.
AN-M14 TH3 incendiary grenades use TH3 thermate. However there's no information anywhere regarding thermate's energy density. It is said to be burning at a higher temperature than regular thermite, but I doubt it actually has that much higher energy density. Let's be generous though and say that it has twice as much as regular thermite. That would put it at 8.26MJ/kg. This type of grenade has around 750g of thermate. That would mean that one grenade can emit a total of 6.2MJ of energy. 12 of them would provide 74.4MJ of energy. That's quite a lot to go to reach 2128.5MJ. In fact that would require a total of 344 grenades to provide enough energy to melt all that gold, and again that's assuming all of the energy released by them would go straght into the gold. In reality in such an open space you would probably need ~50x that amount so 17200 grenades.
And lastly even assuming you could melt all that gold and collapse a building around it. Does that really matter that much? Have you really robbed those bad guys of all that gold?
No, not really. That's just a minor inconvenience - there's still 15t of gold lying in the rubble. That's like the best grade gold mine imaginable. The World Gold Council defines a high-quality gold mine as having a gold ore density between 8 and 10 grams per ton. Here the gold would be very highly localised within the rubble so it would probably be around 100-500kg of gold per ton of rubble.
tl;dr: Writers - get your physics right - it really makes a difference. There's a reason why shows and movies with high degree of scientific accuracy like The Expanse, Interstellar and The Martian are in such high regard."
Undy i remember hold having a much lower melting point than 1100C but if thats the case then yeah, melting it to that point would be difficult, and I expected the explosion to be bigger but it was kind of a dud, and I’m surprised with people like D nearby, that they kinda botched the blasting of C4, not a great breacher when its a stick, and much more powerful, that shits nasty. But I’ll concede that i was vert wrong, I thought gold had a melting point of around 900F, but its 1900F, dropped the most important digit
@@thisismaddened6896 The movies you listed are silly and very obviously over the top. The tone establishes our expectations: in those cases, that the movies are not taking themselves seriously, and that we should not take them too seriously. Conversely, if you make an entertaining movie that is based on fact and research, you don't lose anything and you gain a lot of respect. It also means that the writing requires a bit more thought than it otherwise might, but finding ways of justifying cool stuff means there are opportunities to come up with interesting answers. My problem with this series goes back to tone; sometimes it seems to take itself very seriously, and sometimes it wants to be fun shlock. It's possible to do both, but they're not especially well-integrated, so as a result you get people talking about real-world weapon-handling and tactics and stuff, where effort was clearly put in, and you also get criticism of the absurd central premise/conceit of the series.
If it is worth to dig threw tons of dirt to extract a few hundred gram you don't make tons of gold worthless by speeding it out some feet ,😂
"im army, can i have one?" whilst wearing a USAF nameplate.....
It says U.S. ARMY
TheSilent006 Yeah
Helis tend not to be operated by the air force anyways, so still accurate.
@Diego Recio Rivera because it was made a few years ago means its okay to be crappy?
@Diego Recio Rivera wait... Is this the original??? Or did they remake it or enhance it???
I love Steven Ogg. He's such a good actor.
Did anyone else notice that the four Canadians are all equipped to look like the four classes in battlefield 4?
swat1306 that’s what this series is based on, “rush”
Melting then blowing up over half a ton of gold = still half a ton of gold 🤷🏻♂️
Well just is a lot dirtier and not measured out. Thus, takes a bit longer to get into circulation
nope. most of it is completely useless now. almost impossible to clean and refine.
They were trying to disperse it
Omg thank you I was like that is just slowing people down from spending it
Finally.
Some good muzzle flashes.

You guys inspire me to become the person I want to be regardless of what anyone wants me to do. Thank you so much, and keep up the hard work so that others who look up to you guys can too.
I am pretty sure if they refine the gold from the rubble it will still have a higher concentration of gold than natural gold ore... the ores are like 10 grams per ton...
lmao "I'm ARMY, can I have one?"
great line
Anyone notice the pilot getting his ankle taped on the truck in the scene with the mercs? Then in the ending scene running out of the building the actor jumps off the stairs and lands on one foot to make it look like he didnt want to hurt his ankle more... but landed on the foot they were taping up in the earlier scene
13:16 "I'm army, can I HaVE One?"
"I'm army, can I take one?" Actually a funny line was completely unexpected love it.
When Miller said that he'd never seen a female sniper before he could have totally saved his ass with "It's a very male dominated field and I'm impressed by the way you've climbed ranks in a harsh trade like this"
The battlefields 1942 music hit that nostalgia button.
Oooh that sweet sweet BATTLEFEILD music

12:25 this kid just lifted an entire gold bar like it was an empty juice can. Put your gun down chief we got Mr. Incredible over here.
This episode is just a game of Zombies
When that manikin fell out the window onto the ground....i felt that
I don't get why film people always ignore basic logic. Gold isn't gone when you melt it down and blow it up. It takes maybe a few k to pay someone to pick it up and melt it down again, hardly a pocket change when we're talking billions. And also wooden tables aren't cover.
Basically what happened is this was a sponsor for a game in where there's a mode where you burn down the gold and defend the objective. So I guess they kinda had to try and make sense of what they had to put in it.
You’re applying real world logic to a mini series that’s using video game logic
@@brotherofAnubus Facts
Dude theres a million things wrong with this. Hes call a sgt. Sir. The one guy was wearing dog tags outside his cammies. Its a web seris based of a video game. Corridor does a good job with their research this series is really good when you take it what it is. It was for a game and also you gotta remember their tailoring to an audience who may not all have military or gun knowledge. Take it for what it is
Yup, a lot of it will be recoverable, but it would be annoying to go sift through the rubble. Just an inconvenience, but Corridor's probably doing their best to mirror Battlefield's Rush game mode.
Why did you suddenly upload it to your CZcams Channel!? What happened to g90!?

But something cool that could've been added, was the part where their waiting for the people to come up and the gold is melting, the little bomb that makes that sound during 14:58-15:10 could've slowly gotten quiet little by little and then hold onto it for a while in order to build suspense. But hey im no expert, everything about this is great 😙👌
