Martin Luther College is the college of ministry operated by the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). Located on a 50 acre (200,000 m²) campus in New Ulm, Minnesota, the college prepares men for pastoral training at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary and men and women for service as early childhood teachers, elementary, and secondary teachers and staff ministers in WELS churches, schools and missions. A faculty of 82 educators serves approximately 800 students during the school year. The school is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, and its teaching program has been approved by the Minnesota Board of Teaching. - Hudba
Finally, l have found the beautiful Lutheran hymns l can listen to over and over. What a blessing as l draw closer to Heaven and my precious Savior!
I've been living in India for a while and boy can I tell you... I miss the old hymns. So much that I've taken a liking to hum them, sing them with my son, and listen to them here on youtube. Thanks for posting- Glory forever to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
One of the most beautiful hymns.
Beautiful rendition of this hymn! What request can a believer make in an hour of trial, at the close of this life, "In life or in death O Lord, Abide with me!" This is a request which He will surely answer. This is a wonderful assurance which noone else can give, but only Christ Jesus, our Saviour and Lord.

God's blessings on you as well. I believe wholly in Jesus Christ as the Savior from all of our sins.
Played at both my grandparents funerals and 3 of my uncles. Makes me sad but it is also so inspirational.

Beautiful singing! Perfect....well...only Jesus was perfect. MLC should use this video to promote their school. Toss those homecoming and parody videos in the trash. Please USE THIS. God's blessing to our pastors and teachers.

I have been fortunate to be a Lutheran all my life . I found your many great selections of so many old and some times forgotten hymns - ABIDE WITH ME is 1st among those hymns . My wife and I met in 2001 , we were married in 2004 , only a few months following my Mother's passing . I asked to have Abide With Me played at our Wedding , in Mom's memory and in the hope that my Wife and I will be Blessed with many years together --Thanks Ever So Much

I used to be Lutheran, Would like to be again, but most of all, I just want to be around people who can glorify God with hymns like these.
The Gods of the universe keep you from joining a Lutheran congregation? There are three large Lutheran denominations in this country and numerous smaller ones. They don't have guards at the door keeping you away.

It's nice to hear all eight stanzas.
My experience has been that in WELS Lutheran churches all stanzas of each hymn are usually sung but there are exceptions to that rule.
My you and your family have a blessed Christmas Jeremiah 31:33 I will be their
God and they will be my people. Matthew 1:22 .The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel which means God with us.
