Welcome to Adi's Little Shedshop, I needed some me time recently to reflect, so I go to my favourite place, which is Colchester Sports Park. It was a really windy day so unfortunately I had to cut the sound out, but I have replaced it with writing and some music, I hope you enjoy the beautiful track and the surroundings. If you get the opportunity to go to the Colchester Sports Park, take it, as it is fantastic, or if you have a local cycling track take yourself there as cycling has so many great benefits, not only good for your health but great for the mind.
I enjoy cycling because it has taken almost 10 years for me to get back on a 2 wheeled upright bike after an accident at work made me become disabled. I went through a bad spell of depression until my wife found a group called Wheels For All which is a fantastic charity that helps anyone to be able to ride, even if you just don't have the confidence in riding. I have been going to Wheels For All at my local track (Colchester Sports Park), for about 3yrs now and I started on a hand cycle, this thing was amazingly fast and extremely fun. After a year or two there was an event going on at the London Velodrome called Limitless, where disabled bodied people could go and try out the Velodrome on tandems with Pilots. This was my first time back on a "real" bike for years even tho I was only the "Stoker", it was exhilarating and it spurred me on to getting back on 2 wheels.
Cycling is one of the best sources of mindfulness and can help produce many endorphins, adrenalin and serotonin to help bring up the mood in every activity partaken on a bicycle, which is good for mental wellbeing, stress relieving, love, life and happiness. If of course you enjoy it.
Please visit your local track here is the details to mine:

Oh this track is soo good, it can get windy, but it's worth it, the boy isn't fond of the road bike and likes to stop often as he's not too keen on the padding, unfortunately Mrs Shedshop doesn't partake in 2 wheeled fun. Layby is an awesome café, great coffee, and top speed that day was 36mph I think. My fastest has been 38.7mph there, I probably had a tail wind that day 😉

Impressive bit of speed there then, I think one of my top speeds ever 😮 in the country slight down hill giving it some ( bit scary to say the least ) just a fraction under 50 😮 to car driver's disbelief, never did it again though on skinny 700 's bit frightening 🫣.

It's scary doing proper speed on a road bike tho, when I did the JOGLE, I hit 70mph downhill in Scotland, I think we were on 700x23's around 130psi and it was the first day, but it had taken a good half hour climbing before the down came. That was probably one of the scariest moments I've had on a bike ride, 9 days and around 1100 miles, certainly don't think I could do that again, maybe the shorter distance one and maybe a couple of weeks 😉
