its a sales tactic. The same happened with a roblox game called big brother. The developers made another game called eviction notice and intentionally bugged it out so players would start playing their new game. Sony are doing the same thing, and it seems to be working pretty well. I plan on getting a PS5 later this year because I am tired of all this nonsense on the PS4 and all the new worthless updates meant to bug the system out. They will do the same to promote the PS6, the PS7, and so on.

Mine started to crash and then it started with the can not start ps4 ended up initializing it bc update wouldn’t work it work for a bit and same thing crash now it won’t even load screen but ps4 with have a white light sometime I’d I unplug it and plug in back in and put it into safe mode manually the screen with pop up but crash as soon as I touch button on controler

I’ve been dealing with an issue where when I setup the ps4 after manually updating it when I get to the part where I set up the “adjust power save settings” once completed it just keeps freezing and looping back to the beginning my edits remain but why is this happening?

I have a standard ps4 console, I have replaced the internal 500gb hard drive with a brand new 1tb internal hard drive, I power up my PS4 console and keep my finger on the power button so that I can hear the 2 beeps, I know that I will be in safe mode, attach ps4 controller using a USB data cable, the safe mode screen with all of the options are there but here is the major problem, only option 7 is highlighted with a light blue rectangle, option 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 are visible on the screen but for some reason I cannot access any of the other options, I am permanently stuck with option 7, I cannot do anything else even though I connect a 4TB external hard drive with the system software update on it so when I select the option to read from my external hard drive and several seconds later my ps4 tells me that there is no system software, my external hard drive is in the correct format and I just cannot get out of option 7, all of this that I have done is in safe mode, there isn't anything else that I can do that will allow me to use any of the other options, safe mode, option 7, stuck, cannot move up or down, any ideas will be very gratefully appreciated 👍🙂😀👍

I have a issue that I can’t get any control to hook up at that safe mode area it worked fine before I did a master reset for it now controllers not working did a reset on controllers have 3 and none will link to ps4 if can help please
You have to plug your controller into the original USB cable that came with your PS4 to get it to connect. If you don't have the original just try to use any extra USB cables you might have. If the cable you're using isn't working it's probably because it's only capable of charging the controller, you need a cable that has the ability to transfer data as well.
What happens if in safe mode, your controller is plugged in and the X and O buttons work but not the directional buttons to scroll through the various options (1-7)? Anyone ever had that problem and found a fix?

I have never had a problem with my ps4 getting into a bootloop b4, I have had mine since a year after they launched when Destiny 1 came out, I got the destiny white ps4 and it has seved me well and only just now am I having this problem with it.

If you can’t boot into safe mode here: when you turn off the ps4 hold it until it beeps twice… after that wait a few seconds and then hold it down till it beeps twice again

Just let it chill in the initialize screen after you click option 7 eventually you'll go back and itll let you move around

How could you possibly do anything other than unplug? The system is in consistent loop, you can't change settings or do anything if it's rebooting every 10 seconds.

Turn off ps4 completely and then hold the power button until you hear 2 beeps that should get you into safe mode options where you can try updating it.

If they were bought online through ps store and u have a psn account ull just need to redownload all of it. It won't keep any saved data tho ao ull have to re-download and start from the beginning of anything u were playin
If all these methods don't work for you, (it happened to me), just use a diffrent HDMI cable and if that doesn't work move your ps4 and switch back to the old one. It should work also leave your ps4 off for around 10 minutes in between switches of the cable.
Just use different hdmi or use hdmi and do all the restore steps??

I tried to restart my PS4 in safe mode but nothing, it just stops on 34% and then switches to a that says USB reinstallation of the PS4 something like that . Does anyone have tips that can help me maybe without having to lose all game data .

Hello. I get no options. It wants me to plug in the controller and press the PS button but it stays on the screen telling me to plug the dual shock in. So i run a regular boot and i get a blue screen asking me to do the same thing and after i plug in the dual shock and press the PS button, nothing happens. I can not get back to the main system screen.

I had the same - you need to change USB cable for better one - which can transfer data, orginal one or from JBL or smthg like that, this with poor quality will charge PS4 pad but will not work in Save mode

I suggest watching this other video and trying the methods it shows. It is pretty in depth and has many possible solutions in it so it is worth trying.

To everyone still going through the problem after attempting everything mentioned in the video to solve this problem.
I was able to contact PSN and the store I bought it from as it went into "the loop". You can't fix it. Take it back and trade for a new one, if still under warranty.
I ended up in deathloop where absolutely nothing worked. You ultimately have to get to that backend menu and Factory Reset your PS4 (Option 7, Initialize PS4). You'll lose everything, but it's worked for me since then except when I leave it unplugged for long periods of time, then I have to do this again. But it beats buying another outdated system if you can't afford the 5 yet or don't have a warranty.

@@fanningthefame12 sadly, I searched the internet for a couple hours trying different things and eventually had to wipe it.
Beyond doing the full system wipe and reboot, there really wasn't any more to do.
Best I can tell, it has something to do with leave the PS4 unplugged for too long. Not sure what that triggers, but it happened to me again a couple weeks later.
