That was a very satisfying moment for me, especially when I reassembled all the cleaned components 🤩
This PS4 is coming from my cousin as "The DIRTIEST computer I've ever CLEANED" ( • The DIRTIEST computer ... ) did! That video just reached 100K views, so let's hope this one will have the same success 🤞

Another great restoration of yours! I really was looking forward for your next video. It's really comfy to watch it. I have spotted 2 things: 1 is that vaseline oi has its Polish equivalent on the bottle and the other was on 17:40 - was that dust left on the cover :)?

What cleaning solution did you use for the top & bottom cover? My ps4 slims top cover is fillied whith scratched & dirt inside those scratches. Might be important to note that im not the first owner of the ps4. It was from a friend, we made a trade but the ps4 came real dirty. Anyways i wanna start with the top cover more than anything. I dont like nasty all that didrt makesbit look

I never got bored while cleaning these things while learning how they made its design. I thought about the reason why often and I guess I found it; I respect the machine itself and think that box doesn't deserve being in a mess. Because these machines are the product of bunch of hard working genius engineers. Second reason is to know its best performance by making it all clean. oh you are right, I didn't even use the sewing machine oil in this video 😅
The blue padding is ARCTIC TP-3: Premium Performance Thermal Pad, 100 x 100 x 1,5 mm. To be honest, I finally don't think 1.5mm is the best format for the PS4 Slim. I would use smaller next time.

I have never been able to find a screw small enough to take mine apart to clean it, but now i have a man who has the screwdriver and the will power to help me clean this 10 year old console 🥲👍
Well, if it is "just" to clean the PS4, you could just get a random screw driver pack from amazon. But I hope this video can be a small help for that.

I was literally thinking today that my PS4 is a bit dusty and also played some Rdr2 earlier so it was a little surprise😁 I'm no tech wizard, maybe one day would it be possible if you label the parts? I could recognize the disc part before seeing the disc but most stuff was a guessing game🤔

That's something I often think about. Should I take time to make slow and smooth movements, or should I put more energy and make fast movements. I tested both, and looks like slower videos are working better. But I still have to improve that aspects of the videos for sure.

I remember opening my original ps4 for the first time, it was so bad. Recently had to change thermal paste on it last year due to having it since near release. The thermal paste was dried up

Oh, I believe it. I deep clean consoles at work all the time and have seen some nasty ones. Worst ones are cockroach infestations and ones where someone's pet used it as a toilet and it went unnoticed.

What if I do not put new termal paste?
Well, I would say that depends on the exact version of your PS4. With some, It is easier to clean the fan and the heatsink without take apart the heatsink and so have an access to the processor thermal paste. clean the dust is already a very good thing, but of course change the TP is better.
If you can't clean properly the heatsink without take it appart, I would definitely recommend to change the thermal paste. Even if it is a cheap one.

What material are you using to add on top of that chip (Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc.) What if I don't have that. 14:40
I am using Thermal Paste here. It is was we use on the processors. I don't think we can use something else unfortunately ... so you will have to order some. But you can find it for a fair price.

Makeup brushes work better and last longer. At least here in the States that is. The paint brushes just end up fraying, curling up and they get like split ends. I took one of my daughters makeup brushes and I have used the same brush kit of about a year now. You really should give it a try my friend.
mmmh I never imagined using makeup brushes, I will try. In fact I would ideally give a try to Anti-Static Brushes. It is I guess the best choice to clean electronic components.

Question, what do you use to clean the plastic components of the console?
I firstly used WD40, Then Isopropyl alcohol. I was not so satisfied about the result so I tried with a bit of windows cleaner product. But I should find on interned what is the best way to restore black plastic.

My friend your video is really great. I wanted also to clean my ps4 but not completely as you did. I followed until you disconnected the black part with the whit tiny cable. So i assembled everything as it was, and now my ps4 won't turn at all. When i plug it in, i see no light at the power button no matter how long i press. It checked everything three times and no sings. Did i ruined it maybe because i opened it while it was still warm from using?

A bit easier with the right tools I can see
Absolutely anxiety inducing, very extreme and deep cleaning. The average person doesn't need to remove all of that, just clean the fan and blow some air into the rest of it every few months. That is not beginner friendly

Just a question, if i want to follow you and clean the metal and plastic part with water. How long do i have to wait for it to dry?
Well, during the summer, I just let everything outside under the sun. It dry very quickly. If it is the winter, I'm using an hair dryer to dry it as quickly as possible, especially for the metallic parts which can rust.

The thing is, it was quite difficult to reassemble everything. So I would say less than 1,5 mm. But I don't have enough experience to say what is the BEST one. That was the 1st time I used this in a cleaning session.

ah yes, there is one. It is basically the same for PCs, to have a small electric ressources to save some settings.

Thats one of the most imporant things to clean so yeah you should do it. I only cleaned the fan area and my PS4 went from very loud and hot to silent and normal temperature.

You know what else sucks to is when you get bug infested devices. Nothing like taking apart a computer just to find 100 dead cockroaches and bed bugs. Anything I get in stays outside until it passes an inspection to make sure there are not live bugs in it.
oh you know what? Currently everybody in France is afraid about having bed bugs. I didn't even imagine have some in a computer or gaming console! I should be more careful about this 😅

Well, it is a controller I recently bought to test this PS4 as I didn't get the controller with this console. The store where I was didn't have a Sony controller, and I didn't have time to find one, so I bought what they had, a "FREAKS GEEKS" PS4 controller.
