Cleaned mine today and the thermo paste. Can even hear the fan anymore. It's nice not hearing the plane in my living room lol.

Cristian if it’s super dusty give it a try but not really it won’t help much the fans don’t get loud due to just dust alone it’s also because of the cpu/gpu performance in games which now most games use pretty much most of like Modern Warfare
It is much quiter and I noticed the home page was alot smoother when going between a game to CZcams or others. If you clean out the inside I also suggest doing a database rebuild in the system safe menu to help speed things up even further

Great tear-down, just 1 thing, please don't remove the cables by pulling on the wires themselves, use needle-nose pliers and pull from the clip. If you pull the cables like that you are going to cause micro-fractures which can lead to the cable failing or even shorting if you are to aggressive.

I JUST cleaned my ps4 today after having it since its release date. It wasn't anywhere near as dusty as this guys ps4. He must be playing it somewhere dusty/dirty. Clean whatever room you have it in, or else it's just gonna get dirty all over again in another year. Dust your room, sweep around....

I bought a 2nd hand ps4 pro, looked almost like yours. It was so dirty that I wondered where it stood. It also sounded like a F16 when running just the OS.
Anyway, after cleaning it, changing thermal paste it looks great and runs near silent!
Thanks for this man, to be completely honest, i havent cleaned my ps4 in three years. Recently though, specifically during game cutscenes, it decides to overheat and shut off. The fan has also been louder than usual. I figured it was about time but honestly had no idea how to do it. Thanks for the video, this will hopefully keep me from destroying my ps4

I've taken apart my 360 a few times, each time helping it recover from the red ring of death, and luckily succeeding each time. I was dreading how much of a pain this was gonna be, but this looks so much easier
When I had the PS4 pro I just took the top lid off entirely so the fan wouldn’t scream, helped so much. But also, the dust.

I have a 1st gen ps4 from right after launch. Upgraded it to 2TB. Cleaned it twice since I had it. If your ps4 sounds like a jet engine, gotta make sure you clean the inside of the heat sync. Extra hidden dust there. No need to replace thermal paste and all mother board pads are still there intact. Easy work. Nice vid!
I got the pro when they came out... 1st time cleaning it. Waaaay quieter, which was expected. The fan used to kick on full bore as soon as I opened ESO or Fortnite. Not no mo'. Unexpected bonus... The video quality is way better? My kids and I were blown away.
I have bought my ps4 pro 4 years ago and now its starting to make sounds even when i play games like fortnite or injustice. I just hope it survives until the ps5's price drops

Mine used to sound like a jet taking off until I tore it down completely replaced thermal paste and not to mention that heat sink was caked with dust, after putting it back together it ran like it was brand new even today it runs solid 💪
Turning it around, removing the motherboard, gaining access to the other side of the radiator (there is a lot of dust and hairs aswell, especially with it being filthy the other places), would help you a lot... Putting on fresh cooling paste is a must! aswell..
PS5 will have more vents so get ready to clean.

Just a full FYI here, if your console is this dirty and dusty, do a full teardown and thoroughly clean it out. That much dust inside a device that produces the heat it does clumps up and becomes more like tack over time, air duster will not get it all and it will collect dust that much quicker again. Also, air duster will just push that dust elsewhere in the console regardless. Air duster is a good option to remove the bulk of the dust, but you'll want to go in with paper towels, qtips and rubbing alcohol (90% proof is best, but any 60% and up will do too). Swab it all down and clean every component, lightly and sparingly. While in this process, it wouldn't hurt to replace the thermal paste, it's quite possible given the state of this ps4 and if your's looks like this, it's been running hotter than normal and that thermal paste is looking pretty crunchy. But it's dealer's choice on that last bit, definitely do the rest, your console will thank you by living longer.
Yeah, agreed. All of the dust is stuck in the radiator fins and thermal paste and pads should be replaced too.

I cleaned my ps4 slim however buying a slim is good for a reason first if u wanted to clean a ps4 pro and the ps4 original are hard because they're large the PS slim was always known as the small Playstation so definitely I buyed my ps4 for that reason just to not take alot of energy in cleaning it nice video.

Thermal paste is needed only when the machine or console has aged. Being a PS4 and just a few years now so no need to change the paste. just more air pressure would have been great. also with just this clean up he has already saved aka prolonged the consoles life

My first ps4 was this bad that was before I learned that you should clean it every few days. It is now spotless.
Definitely important to consider the amount of dust your console is breathing! Very important to maintain your device for optimal performance 👍
My PS4 Pro is a later 7216b (2018) model and it sounds like a turbo jet at times. I opened up the top (super easy, no unscrewing) and there was very little in the way of dust in there, but still cleaning the fan and surrounding areas helped a bit. I think they just run loud, that's just what they do. I'm gonna open up the top every few months and give it a clean. That way I hope dust won't make it's way down into the innards of the console.

I was worried I would break it
Had loads of issues with my original PS4 for a while so thought I'd open it and give it a clean, wasn't that dirty and didn't fix the lagging, stuttering and freezing. Saw something that suggested that an external drive could cause all these symptoms so I unplugged it and unbelievably, it's worked like it's brand new since FFS.
The speed of the drive can bottleneck the performance
@@GamesPlusInternet the strange thing is it was affecting games that were being played off the internal drive, I even moved the game I'm currently playing from the external to internal drive and it was as bad. I can only assume it was interference of some sort, EMF possibly. It is working perfectly now though without the external drive being plugged in.

It took me this long to figure out that there were two main models of the PS4 Pro. I have the same one in this video (the 2016/2017 PS4 Pro) AKA the jet engine one... but I realized that the 2018 redesigned model (CUH-7200) has a different power plug, and a more power efficient motherboard. So when I got my PS4 Pro I was surprised to see it overheat so fast, unlike the newer quiet models. Oh well... at least I will buy the PS5 in two years when consumers can actually buy it.

YOOO this video helped me out a lot!! Also, here's some more tips for lazy people, I didn't have a small enough flathead to get the screws out so I used a kitchen knife instead and worked like a charm, also I used a an old mascara wand and a makeup brush to clean up the fan, inner corners and a vacuum cleaner so that the dust doesn't settle down even further in when loose

Earlier at around March I decided finally to take apart my ps4 slim that I got in December of 2016, and just from the way my heat sink looked on it, I would really RECOMMEND you do so, and not just some half ass job cleaning the fan and calling it "cleaned". My ps4 could now be at ease though since I'm mainly on pc but geez the amount of dust chunks that came out had me mortified 😟

The main problem, specially with as much hair/dirt that is in that ps4, is the area between the fan and the heatsink radiator. without pulling it completely apart you will never find the wall of hair/dirt that collects on it. Going that far into cleaning your ps4 you will also need some thermal paste. Just a heads up to anyone with a ps4 this dirty! I cleaned a friends that sounded like a jet engine and now it sounds like the fan is broken because it is so quiet
I agree if there was that much dirt and debris in the fan odds are good that the heat sink is completely blocked on the fan side.
For sure, after re cleaning it later I realized that I missed a portion of the cleaning
