I am so with Aaron. I love how restful one plant per pot is to my eyes. I also love how supportive you are with each other!
Yes her stuffing planters look like a hot mess more than not.
⁴
@@deedew6430 I love the way she does her pots. You’re so rude!
@@lindagardener855 yea she does a great job, I agree with you!! We should spread positive things instead of the negative stuff you don't like. It's not for everyone, therefore move on if it doesn't interest you.
Spread kindness, it's free.
I love that you passed the baton to Aaron to see what his creative side can do. Then he ran with it and I’m super impressed he knew all the plant names!! Go Aaron
👏👏👏
I'm your everyday viewer for years now, love how Aaron progressed from ah...I'm into videography not into plants to be excited about plants and know bunch of them by name, to your grass and trees wizard 😊
Tnx for all brightness you bring us daily 😊
I wish I had a greenhouse on my property full of plants I could just go "shopping" in.. that must be nice.
also a small mountain of soil and compost
And plant starter don’t forget that!
Well, we sort of do. Thanks GA team.
@@dolliemaesone i cant find that starter fertilizer anywhere! i just use garden tone for everything! lol
I wish I had a backyard with a small greenhouse. I only have a patio and vertical planters. But I can't complain, many have nothing and I've been blessed with what I have. So I will give thanks to the Lord for it.
Laura, in 20 years you will be finding small toys while digging in your flowerbeds. It warms my heart, and brings back happy memories of when I had little ones.
The one pot project ends up looking like a giant arrangement - a single thought with various heights and textures of pot. It's like a micro version of a terraced landscape. Love it!
Never tire of watching you plant. So fun to see Aaron involved with flowers.
So fun!! Love when Aaron helps out. Such an easy going guy. Please don't ever stop showing us annual planting. It's my favorite!!! You guys are awesome!!
Working with plants is one of the most enjoyable jobs in the world🌱🌱😍
Near the end did Laura really say that she “likes space between things” 🤣😂🤣😂 I love this show & all the full pots. Thanks for the occasional laugh.
Since the two containers on the back porch aren't on drip, maybe you could set an alarm with Alexa for Benjamin to be his "special chore" to water every day. It's such a small contained area that, now that he is 4, it will start teaching him a responsibility in a fun way. You could set a goal for him to earn a prize if he keeps the plants healthy and alive for the summer 🌞
Don't forget to stake that miscanthus!! LOL I love that Aaron goes "shopping" in your greenhouse to find the lucky varieties for the One Plant Per Pot Place, beautiful!!
I love Aaron’s choices for your one plant per container project. That Lantana is beautiful. I live in hot West Texas and Lantana does really well here. That color would be perfect for my yard.
I love when Aaron comes and gets involved!!! Thanks Aaron!
By the front entryway where you plan to widen the flowerbeds, instead of cardboard and mulch, maybe a sod cutter and use that grass for the grass pathways in the south garden? I know it’s more work, but would save work seeding the path.
That is a wonderful idea!
Laura (& Aaron) i have to tell you how much you inspire us. i started watching your videos right at the very end of when you had the other home, and had just bought this property. i had gone through a really traumatic injury (& surgery) and your videos really helped me heal. i've recently uploaded a few short videos of my garden (no where near your level of quality) but only because i know how seeing other peoples' gardens can be inspiring and therapeutic. thank you so much for all the work that goes into your vids and i know i speak for most of us, that every morning with cup of coffee in hand we watch and smile!
I never get tired of annual planting . I love all of the videos you do . I can't wait to see how Aaron's one plant pots progress.
I must admit I am a one plant, one pot girl most of the time. I definitely would have done one plant per pot where those three pots are together (portico area). I would like to repeat the plants in the window boxes, but individually.
I love the one plant per container when you have a number of containers grouped together. When it’s one pot or a pair, I love your combos! And absolutely love the trees in planters, they offer such instant impact! ❤️
I was thinking it might look nice if the one plant per pot weren't symmetrical on each side. Keep the same plants but vary the plants in which pots are used. Might be a cool experiment to try!
Laura ... Consider Relocating The Two Concrete Containers @ 30:51 Over To The 'Older Entrance' Of Your Home ... Placement Would Be Where The 'Large Wicker Pots' Are Currently Located. They Would Look Absolutely Beautiful Closer To The Black Ornate Railing That Leads Up To The Wooden Porch, And Compliment The 'New Fountain' Arriving Soon For That Area.
I heard a clear echo of your mother's encouraging voice when you were assisting Aaron. Lovely.
I just love "Aaron's Garden"! It is so fun to see what plants he will choose and where he will place them! This year's selection is lovely!
Please please let Aaron do the one plant per pot each season, he’s very funny doing it, it makes me smile and it’s very enjoyable to watch as you record him, love from Ireland 🇮🇪
We plant lantana every year in honor of my beautiful grandma that passed november 29 2021. She has lantana that grows every single year. She lived in the desert so it winters over just fine. Oh how i miss her
Precious memories of your grandma❤️
@@sherrywhitaker3369 grandpa too. He was the gardener and chef. I like gardening and love cooking. Grandma always told me i was just like grandpa. A few days before she passed i made her spaghetti, thanksgiving dinner I'm so grateful we were able to spend Thanksgiving with her and cook for her 💖 and my grandpa's sugar cookies. She was so happy.
@@nashnash7997 ~ I am sorry to hear of the passing of your grandparents! It sounds like you have great memories of them, to hold near and dear to your heart! GREATTT BIGGG hugs.
@@kimberleyfrasquillo3684 thank you. They are missed dearly
@@nashnash7997 ~ More GREATTT BIGGG Hugs to you. Grandparents can be such an integral part of our childhoods! Keep those wonderful memories close, for when you are feeling lost, without them.🥰💞 They teach us to be good people and about their lives; who they were. They teach us about Love; it's less stressful for grandparents, so they embrace every moment with their grandchildren. Whereas, parents have to do the raising and, at times, be the bad guys...
I am in my 60's and still miss all 4 of my grandparents and all 8 of my great grandparents! They've been gone a few decades, now. But, they were always involved in me and my 3 brothers lives, when growing up and into adulthood.
Good morning, Laura, from Windermere, Florida zone 9b USA 🇺🇸
Every day we are bordering on 90°😱
I garden very early each morning and then plan my attack for the next morning while inside with the AC on.
Happy Gardening Everyone 👩🌾 👍 💓
Exactly my strategy here on Northern California zone 9b with days over 100 for weeks. Early morning gardening is a must!
@@payton8613 98° is the expected high today and I have Garden Chores and a video to film this morning. I'd better get out very early. Stay hydrated 👩🌾👍
All of your containers turned out beautiful. Aaron did a good job on picking out plants. I think he has had a good teacher 😁. I can’t wait to get my hands on the new Lantana next year. It is very pretty.
Keep filming, Laura! We want to see it all!!!
I wish I had a table full of options like that 😍
Perfect way to while away a rainy east coast morning this morning, with a hot cup of coffee ☕️ and a lovely, long Garden Answer video. 🌱🌻🌿
Would be so awesome to want to do a project then just be able to walk a couple feet to a full greenhouse and pick out whatever you want!🌸🌸
The weird porch corner was looking very tidy before the plants… but.. don’t hate me.. too many containers… it would have been plenty with just the big planter.. it’s a nice temp spot for the trees too.. the small containers make it chaotic. Caveat: I’m an anxious person who needs to live in an open airy zen type environment 🧘♀️ Laura gives me a workout sometimes 😝 🥰
Laura ~ I could watch you plant something every day!, Oh, wait a minute ~ I already do! Always a pleasure! Always beautiful plants. Always learning something new! Thank you for all you do. Aaron ~ great job on your one pot wonders, as well!
The Unique Stone planters are so stunning on their own that the one plant per container really works. It’s been pouring here in VA Zone 7A, so seeing happy blooms is cheering my mood this morning. Happy hump day GA friends! 🌼☀️🌻
Did you have to spray the maples and other plants as a preventative to keep the spider mites away? I love Aaron's plant choices again this year!! As always thanks for sharing!!
"Less is More" vs "More is Best" ... the dynamic duo in happy harmony.
Everything looks so beautiful! I feel your pain on the spider mites. I found an infestation on 3 new little lime hydrangeas a few weeks ago. I ended up having to defoliate them and cut them back they were infested really bad. They were a pretty good size so it was difficult getting every leaf effectively. Such horrible little pest’s.
Spider mites actually attacked my lavender this year. . . arrggg gotta love Summer! haha
@@GardenHappy It’s so frustrating for sure to get rid those pesky things. Lol the love for summer!
One plant per pot is great for my budget. More bang for my buck. Love that I can enjoy your mixed explosion of multiple plants as well.
Love the one plant per pot! Here comes the ☀️
I hope everyone has an awesome summer!
Love the way Aaron just picks a choice, sticks with it and it's done. Wish I could be so confident.
I get a kick out of how you speed up the videos to save time, but I also imagine you going in real life at that pace! You’re a hardworking gal! Love, love, love your videos.
I agree with him. I hate the pots jammed full of plants that don't look good together.
Good morning from Ontario Canada
Your window box is looking so lovely! I love it when you and Aaron do videos together. 😊😊
I was terrible about watering my pots on my porch, so I started leaving a pretty watering can, full of water on my porch as part of the decor. Now when I walk out, I always have water right there when I need it. Of course, you have to keep refilling the can, but it helped me. Love your channel!!
Carri, I do exactly the same thing with a fancy copper watering can.
I absolutely love the container plantings in ALL the places! Aaron did a great job picking out plants and those containers will be fun to watch. My favorite thing was where you planted some blue lobelia. I love blue flowers! My question is, will this variety hold up in the heat and sun you get? I ask because in Boise I tried several times to grow lobelia (different variety). I tried different areas and conditions and the just couldn’t stand up to the heat for me. I’m hoping to see them in updates. 💚💚💚🤞
I love lobelia, but the earwigs decimate the blossoms, so I quit planting them. I live west of Boise.
I love the pop of Lobelia in the pot. Great combination.
Hi Laura, I heard you say, that you almost considered, not filming this, because it was just alot of finishing off areas - but I just wanted to say, that these last couple of videos, where you planted LOTS of containers and finished areas around the garden, count as some of my favourite videos, that you do! 😁 I find it very inspiring to see, how you plant up containers, and do these arrangements in different areas. The mix of colours and plants is just gorgeous, and I see the effect in my own little projects, as I have completely changed the way I plant my containers, since I started watching your channel! I use more plants, mix textures and colours, and the results are just that much more interesting and beautiful- so thank you for the inspiration! 😁💐 Oh, by the way.... I absolutely love hostas, and so I just love your big hosta bed, near the chicken coup - and I noticed, that there was yet another big, shade-giving tree, right next to that bed, so how about maybe expanding your hostabed even further? 😁 I have built a big collection of different hostas in containers on my shady terrace, and they just perform beautifully every year. I love the variety of leaf sizes and colours, and they just look wonderful. My terrace has a fence around it, and I have lots of windowboxes on that, which i then fill with colourful annuals, like million bells, lobelias, etc., and I will dot in a few colourful containers with the hostas too. I love the effect, it gives. My newest addition to the terrace, is that I planted a pink wisteria, "Pink ice", and trailed it on my fence, too 😂 It produces flowers, that are very long and scented, so I almost cant wait.....
Hi! A while back you mentioned your mom had ordered all the plants to go around the Hartley. I know you have been working on many project but I wanted to know when you will be breaking ground and filling around that beautiful structure; it’s such a shame to see it bare and empty! I would love to see the plan and the whole process! I think you also mentioned boxwoods so I’m curious to see them developing into a pretty formal space! You have such and eye for color, texture and display that I am excited about how gorgeous it’ll be! I’m also excited about the stacked stone little wall by the kitchen! It’ll will be sooo pretty!
Nice seeing Aaron partaking in planting up containers. I also agree that if you have the space to allow one plant per pot. Great job guys!
I love Aaron's plant choices and I think he did really well with placement! That area is going to be gorgeous as it fills in 🤩
Love the makeover in the corner of the porch!! Big impact, and nothing permanent!! 👍🏼☀️💕🫶🏻
Love the one plant per pot! Can't wait to see how they look at the end of the season.
I love the oval concrete planter with sunflowers near your entryway! I’d love to see a container specific tour where you go through what you look for in a container, how and where you source them, and how you plan the arrangements.
Love all the containers! So beautiful! Anyone else want to "shop" at "The Greenhouse?" 😊🌼
The white butterfly on the heliotrope is not a moth. It is a cabbage white, so named because the caterpillars eat brassica. During the June garden tour of your veggie garden, you can see them all around your cabbage/broccoli plants. It was kinda magical lol. In that video you mentioned the green caterpillars eating the broccoli... those are the cabbage white butterfly caterpillars!
Me and Aaron are riding the same wavelength with one plant per pot. There is a beauty in arrangement of different mixes, but I love me a single-plant container more.
I really like the tropical vibe you have in the front of your home. It would be very cool for the summer if you had a touch of that in all your gardens. I am watching another video and the couple is bringing in lots of palm trees for their landscape.
Loving the coral and blue together! I find it so hard to find soft blues/ violets and it's such a stand out when they are used. Looks awesome and hope the spider mites are resolved soon!
Wow Aaron has really learned a lot over the years about plants. His combination of plants is awesome. Can’t wait to see how these containers do.
Question for Aaron: Choosing plants to put together (or next to each other) in a pot is definitely a skill - some people have a lot of experience and know what looks good together, others are very visual & can picture the final outcome, others (like me) have to struggle through trial & error with a lot of second guessing. What is Aaron’s process? He went through them so quickly 😆 I’d love to hear his thoughts!!!
I love that your husband is getting more into this!!! Doing his own arrangement! 😱 quite the minimalist
I love the one plant pots. So simple but not overkill.
Thank you for showing what spider mites look like on the holly hocks and how you treated them. Every pot turned out so pretty
I have all those mixed color/ ombré lantana by my walkway pots. Stunning.
Good morning Laura, just a thought. I also had horrible problems with spider mites and all the spinosad and bt really didn't change anything. The reason is that those products will also kill the beneficial predatory insects. This year I ordered a large amount of beneficial insects and applied in the spring and I have not sprayed a thing. You will see me picking off the occasional caterpillar and whitefly. However they are really just a few survivors whose days were numbered. At this point I have so many insects helping me out. I have just concentrated on soil health, and found that nature doesn't really need our help.
I really loved to see Aaron picking up plants and spots ! It was so cool to see the process. The salvias look amazing !
Thank you Laura for another blessed show 💐
I love Aaron's idea of one plant they grow so big and you are able to notice it more but all your containers are awesome!
YOU TWO ARE AWESOME!😁🙏
Best show on the internet!
I had really good success this year with putting green lacewing larvae on a Gardenia that I over winter indoors that was struggling with spider mites and mealy bugs. Gardenia tend to be sensitive about what's sprayed on the leaves so this was a last-ditch effort after hand washing each leaf multiple times. They were bug free all summer long outside and I saw the lacewing eggs on several plants so they continued to help throughout the year. I'm not sure if lacewings can thrive in your area but I'm a zone 5 in NY. Love watching all your videos. My garden inspiration!
Love all the combinations of plants in the containers. I learn so much from you! Do you have to worry about the Maples in containers near the Holly Hocks getting contaminated with spider mites?
She did get those awful close to the infestation I was thinking!
How wonderful it would be to have soil prepped and ready to go! I just spent all day digging weeds out of a 3ft wide new bed and my back is killing me! Unfortunately I can't till because the weeds in my area are rhizomatous (Houttuynia cordata) and will multiply if any little piece of the plant is left in the ground. It's such a pain!
As you were giving us a round on your ideas and pots to plant... at 28:04, I got a glimpse of the balcony or veranda and imagine them with planters filled with gorgeous colors and some trailing vines hanging over the sides. How much fun would that be!!
Your property has grown exponentially and beautifully. It is a testimony of your vision, love of gardening and resilience. You and Aaron should be proud of all the accomplishments you have made!!
I love Aaron's choice of plants for 'his' area of Unique Stone containers. I am glad you have chilled out with regard to one plant per container. 😊
You are getting close to having your property qualify as an Estate.
I would call it "The LeBoutillier/Kurth Estate" 🥰🌾
The wrought iron railing on your front porch is beautiful.
Loved watching Aaron “shop” for his flowers. Great choices! Beautiful containers everywhere and so helpful to those of us who don’t have large gardens. But…I love your large gardens! PS Where are you planting the magnolia tree, which is looking fabulous!🌸💜🪴
What a blessing to have a greenhouse filled with proven winners perennials to choose from! And I’m with Aaron - I’m a one plant per pot kinda gal. Now if only I had that restraint in my poor over-stuffed garden beds...
Good Morning! 🌞🌺 Love watching the "Video Journal"! I take pictures & video of what I have planted from year to year then I can refer back to remember what I have planted! Glad you found the spider mite issue! Love Aaron's plant choices for those containers!! All the containers are looking good!😊🕷📸📹🌺💚🌿
Those pots by your barn are beautiful with the bows.
Aaron, I can't wait to see your container selections to grow. I love your choices. Laura, you are amazing. Thank you and your family for giving us so much of your time and sharing your beautiful gardens.
I'm excited to see the progress of Queen Tut throughout the season. I think I'll ask the garden centers I frequent to get it in for next year!!! I love the Tut's!
I like simple or one plant per pot too! Sometimes 3 but simple is soothing.
I'm so glad you showed the spider mites issue, Laura. This is an area of gardening that I am so lacking in insect/plant health knowledge.
PS. Don't forget to tie up the ornamental grass!!😅😱🤪
Aaron did a great job on the singles, 👏👏👏👏
My first year with bubble gum and the white and they are both amazing plants.
I would love to see a driveway pot update, I see they are spilling over the sides 😎
Everything is beautiful, I really love the galvanized planter. Watching your videos I get introduced to so many flowering plants I never knew existed, thank you.
You two make a great team. I have learned so much from you. I’m wondering if you have published a book or a coffee table book?
A coffee table book would be stunning 🤩 🌺
The big table under the tree looks so friendly🥰 greetings from Germany 🇩🇪 we are in a big heat since two weeks (over 30 ° Celsius)
I live in Laura’s area and the high is supposed to be over 40* Celsius on Monday!
@@cynthiafisher9907 that is not my temprature 😃 i like to live with 24° and good raining over night
Great choices Aaron. You’ve been doing this so long you’ve absorbed it all. I think the one plant per pot is fabulous, especially for people on a budget for annuals.
Everything looks georgeous! So happy you're doing the one-plant pots again 😊. I'm worried that any surviving spider mites will migrate over to that lovely new maple? Is that possible?
Especially loved new view of Japanese maples from up on the porch. Makes it look finished down there. Aaron's one per pot looks great from the start. I like uncomplicated occasionally. 👍
All of your beautiful flowers and I keep watching your light bulb to the right of your door go on and off.
Aaron is rocking those plant names! He put a smile on my face.
*** HALLELUJAH!!! *** Thank YOU AARON for the Supertunia Vista BUBBLEGUM -----> I Love that PINK plant! Every selection that LAURA designs are so PRETTY, PRETTY, PRETTY! I want to Thank you both from the bottom of my heart for the JOY, encouragement, education, and inspiration you both give.
Special Thanks to Proven Winners for all the plants/research and availability. -&- Thank you Paul for all your hard work.
That green house shopping is a dream come true. Aaron did a great job! Love that he has favorites too.
I really liked Aaron's choices.
I'm going to have to start binge watching some of the older videos in January (for inspiration) so I can plan and budget my balcony more effectively. This year my plans have been a complete mess, and there's only one place left with any abundance of bedding plants.
I love love everything Aaron picked im so excited to see what his pet project will look like
When Aaron grabbed the lantana plants I was like ok go wicha bad self!! They are by far my favorite plant. Super Hardy drought resistant brilliant flowers with little effort and they bloom all the way into October such a rewarding plant to have💗
Soooo glad you chose the snow drift!!
It’s my fav!! So classic and definitely in that beautiful pot.
Love you guys 😍
Video everything we love it. Love the containers. Busy day. Great job Aron picking your plants. Thank you so very much for sharing this with us.🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Always love to see what combination or single plant you use.....never get tired of watching you plant and the way you place different planters
So cute, he really watches what you do!
