      Not exactly, Somalis are in insular ethnic group that maintained their homogeneity through close intermixing. It's not that Oromos have too much phenotypic diversity but that Somalis lack it.
      Oromos on the other hand had social institutions like Moggaasaa that allowed for the subsequent adoption of non-Oromos and they definitely did integrate several ethnic groups although this has been greatly exaggerated. Oromos are not an insular ethnicity but they naturally have a more diverse phenotypic diversity, it was also considered abhorrent for Oromos to marry people of their own subclan, it was equated to incest. Only 7th cousins or more.

    I must add that I was acquainted with some Oromo, and I must also add that they were always very
    Pleasant and amiable. On another note, I must add, once again, that your sweeping coverage of
    Africa is indescribably unique. If you have not done so, do a study on the Herero, and their courageous
    Struggle against German genocide. The fact that their extermination was the origin of Nazism.

    • @NoRockinMansLand
      @NoRockinMansLand Před 4 měsíci +1

      Sadly their history has been greatly distorted by the Amhara elite in what I believe was an attempt of forcefully making them assimilate into the hegemonic amhara culture. It's akin to European colonization but because it was done by African collaborators, it has been largely ignored. I'd strongly urge you to read this book (or I can reference a scholarly article on this topic of colonization if you want):

Learning more from your channel on the cultures of our people from the motherland is just fantastic. However, and for the most part when others single out particular groups as being more beautiful than others even thought that's their own opinions, say much to how the views of many are much influenced from another perspective let's say Euro centric to begin with rather than the love influenced from among our own inherited views of the family within our midst. In order words all the various ethnicity are beautiful in the way they are created by the Mos High. One love 💖

    You should also look into how the Amhara’s have changed the history of Oromos and some even took to themselves, the Amara’s came from Yemen originally and married to oromos but then wanted their culture and started changing the ruling and squiring lands and they multiply and they started getting power and started stealing our history and assets and started eroding history of the oromos, God is good the Oromo ppl have been through a lot and fighting back these evils

      Cut that bs, Amharas weren’t migrating from nowhere, unlike Oromo who came to Ethiopia from Kenya or Somali nobody can even tell. Amharas are ingenious people of Ethiopia and descendants of Axum, the tribe in Yemen was assimilated by Axumites not other way around so them Arab tribes came to existence from migrants from Ethiopia that’s why they might have some similarities, and stupid European scholars and human beings like you say they came from Arab just to split people in this country

      @ybzuoiun ygzh xintyawmade From what I gathered you blame the youth for the Horn collapsing. Don't you think it's these outside forces playing a big part of the problem? I mean they are organized and have executed every plan so far. Look at the Arab League countries, they have done what their ancestors put in plan. And Iran is next, or shall I say started. What is your solutions? There was this other African guy on CZcams comments suggesting Africans in the diaspora need to go back to rebuild their towns. And only then could the country come together. If you ask me I blame the elders for not being organized and leaving their offspring in this state. Surely whatever worked in the past should be returned. But will the outside influences make it easy? After all their puppets are in charge of Africa.
      Some people say it's a hoax, others say it's the truth but the words are a fact about Africa and if Vladimir Putin said these words “Africa will never be independent. Africans believe in Europeans, Americans and Chinese more than themselves-they don’t trust themselves at all.
      A white man will commit crime in Africa but no action will be taken because Africa authorities view us as semi-gods, far from the truth. A blackman can be abducted in Europe, get harrassed or even killed but no African authority will question. Africans present themselves as weak people with no hope especially when dealing with Europeans and Americans." Click the link to see how Vladimir Putin's words end, hashtag truth hurts.

The Gadaa system that has been registered by UNESCO as world heritage is what it is! Again, Oromia is the cradle-land of coffee arabica-coffee has spread the world over from there. If anybody needs to know more on this great African nation, let me know.
