- We have yet another Texas 5.0 Coyote Mustang out drifting with us nowadays, and I find these things kinda fascinating. Newer chassis like his allow drivers to basically get an insane amount of laps due to their incredible reliability and become experienced drifters very quickly. There is no need to engine swap a car, go through a lengthy build of any kind, etc. Just bolt on a few parts, and go drifting, I love it!!!! So in this episode we chat with Austin Zeier about his experience with the car, and how he handles it. Because mustangs make great drift cars. All you need is a welded diff and some angle to really slay. Drift American has all the parts you need for 79-04 Mustangs

Yup, I sim drift and that lsd messed me up when sideways or when trying to initiate, I'm going to weld it soon

I’m Japanese and mustang is too rare here so for me it’s soooo cool and jealous y’all. I do drift on my AE86 and all the ppl here is drifting with 180sx, silvia, ae86, skyline32,33,34 and some rb or jz cars you know. It’s already boring for me. I know it happens for y’all too so now we gotta switch our place lol I go to Texas and y’all come live in Japan instead of me lol
Lol I'd take that deal with my eyes closed. My dream is to drive a Silvia S15, a RB26 Skyline, or really anything with a RB25/RB26, and I don't see how I can achieve this goal by staying in the USA where 80% of JDM cars aren't street legal and it takes thousands of $$$ in parts from Japan to create swapped clones haha

i liked watching the clip of his wheel work because he was steering with one hand, i think drifts look so much cleaner from the pov if the driver isnt flailing both arms around the wheel

Can you guys do a video like this but on josh’s 3rd gen Camaro? Like a in depth thing on his suspension setup, motor, angle kit etc? That thing is rad... I’ve seen it in a bunch of the videos but never really anything too crazy talking about it. Aaron’s just like “oh look this is a Camaro it’s rad love seeing different chassis... ooh look another car”😂

What up people! A question for anyone to answer. Do you think it would be cheaper to do a drift build like this one- good suspension, long tubes for a bit more power and that e-brake (keeping it n/a), as opposed to doing straight line build; slapping a tvs or procharger on? I just paid my car off, bought a nice daily and I now I wonna do something fun with my Coyote.

i love this cause mustangs are everywhere and makes it more likely more people can get into drifting!

Drifting my stock s550 out in Alabama they literally rip in stock form.
I wonder if a hydraulic rack from a first gen s197 would fit the rack location of the second gen s197 with a few modifications to connect the steering shaft and some clamps to hold the rack in place. And you could run it off of a toyota mr-s pump so it can be put on a switch. Im sure its not that difficult to make something work.
The bolt pattern for the racks is different. I know since I actually put a newer S550 rack in an S197 sub frame

Wow driving that looks crazy. The fact that is doesn't self steer would be so annoying to me. It looks like a massive amount of work. I assume its because they are electric steering and not hydraulic.

The owner definitely seemed nervous so didn't think the video was as easy/enjoyable as some of your other video's imo, either way cool Mustang and looks very capable with simple mods. Unfortunately these are super expensive over here in the UK compared to a 350z or bmw e36/e46. Would love to have a go in one to compare it to my Nissan though.

Honestly mustangs drift so much better than jdm cars you really don't have to upgrade them to get them to drift where as jdm you have to put thousands of dollars in upgrades even to get them fartcans to do a burnie

Is the self steering issue due to low caster in the front wheels or is it because of the electric power steering?
good question, im looking to purchase one hopefully next year and thats an issue im hoping i can fix to a degree even if its only mild improvement

it's the electronic steering that does it, it's either not fast enough or too fast it's weird it's not designed for drifting obviously , I think there's a kit for it to reduce the affects ask vaghn gitten or chelsea denofa their practice cars run em. be better to just convert it back to a traditional type steering setup maybe :)

They're more expensive, longer wheelbase, heavier, and the aftermarket isn't even close to what's available for mustangs, but all of that can be overcome with the right amount of money. Also, probably yes, the majority of owners are likely at the drag strip or hauling groceries.

Yup, it was in one of my early Mustang videos at Gulf Greyhound Park, maybe 2017 if you want to look for it. I caught it on my helmet cam. The video will be labeled Lone Star Drift Round 1 or 3 or whatever from that year.
