- Please enjoy this little pre Drift Week video where we check out Jonathan Durham's new super charged 2015 Ford Mustang! Stock seats, big angle, suspension, full interior, is this the best Drift Week car lol? I love how different Drift Week cars are getting and how people are building super unique stuff!

Dig this guy. Average straight shooting midwestern dude. 5.0 and busch in hand. Hell yeah brother.
Durham is one of the people who taught me to drift and helped me greatly. Good dude
Good stuff. Ya the price of used cars are kind of ridiculous, people wanting 7-8K for something thats worth 2-3K.
the drift tax is insane bro u could get a gtr in nz 10 years ago for like nz 10 k which is about 6 us fuk lets hope they keep makeing rwd manuals in the future
Every 240sx and e36 ever now lol
@@janmatuku8960 10k if it was a heap of shit . 20k is about right . You could import a vsepc for around 30k landed
@@janmatuku8960 its not even drift tax nowadays it also has to do with covid and hate to say it but the americans importing them i remember a few years ago in australia like 5-7 you could get mk4 supras from like 5-10k like kinda ratty shit ones those same supras are selling well above the 30k mark cheapest one ive seen recently was like 21k and half of the interior was missing or painted badly and had a bunch of miss parts or needed to be replace its insane
@@Isaac-zz2uv prices had been increasing long before covid as far as cars in Japan. Mainly it is the fact everything started creeping up to the 25 year mark so Americans could import, many started buying and storing them waiting for them to be legal, others started importing and state titling them. That coupled with the fact you have many other people in other countries bidding also started increasing auction prices especially for good examples. Now it is just simple supply and demand, demand is there but supply is drying up and people are just buying anything and willing to pay whatever.
Prices hiked during covid with people snagging money off the government or from superannuation and the influx of expats flying home and needing cars to get around.
Many other factors go into obviously but the cars are getting older and more sought after so prices were always going to rise no different than what happened with muscle cars and the older generation.
Man cool car. This guy is pretty cool. Simple build, good power and comfortable.
If you think a GT is cheap at $33,000, I bought my 2015 Ecoboost Mustang for less than half of that. My car is even simpler with no hydro or angle kit so it’s even more streetable and still works well on track. I think we’ll be seeing more and more of the s550 chassis Mustangs at drift events very soon!
4c tandem drift is sketch
I just got mine not too long ago still debating on if I wanna go street sleeper or drift build
The 4 cylinder? Fuck that shit, my stock Falcon that I paid 3kaud for cuts them every time, They're trash.
Heated and cooled seats??? Daaaaaaamn living the life here. Meanwhile Rudys dogbox with no windows 👀👀👀👌👌
I could hear this man read a book to me
I do a lot of crazy things for money lol
Money doesn't ever hurt. Dont forget it.
Thanks for this channel. There's no bullshtt like in others.
Keep it up!!
For 20k you can:
A) buy a 2021 Honda Civic
B) build a clapped out Nissan
C) get a 450 hp rwd manual car that has sofas as seats and more features than a base model bmw
It's hard to find a good 2015+ 5.0 mustang manual for 20k right now.
2 years later and its hard to find a food 2012+ mustang gt for 20k
Good video buddy, partied with this dude at villains in WA on driftweek, good stuff
America is lucky heaps of domestic built cars that are good prices and heaps of imports, Europe is probably the only other place that has easy access to alot of different cars .
I love this guy.
That thing is crazy
Most important questions IMO: How does the car drive with it's electric power steering system and throttle drive by wire????? What needs to be done to keep the car's assists from kicking in and ruining your run/putting you into a wall????? Drifting potential of the newer cars are plagued by these systems IMO.
This ^
Literally just unplug the abs and all that turns off.
Cortex makes a controller for the electric P/S that improves the feel a bunch. Drive by wire has been around for a while now. Most ls swaps nowadays are drive by wire
Check the community for apps to turn off and customize many computer/software-controlled features of the car. When the car starts up it will default to your customizations. I've seen a few for the coding on the newer BMWs. ProTool, Bimmerlink etc
I had a friend that drifted a s550 with electric steering, he drove it like a z. It felt so weird, may not be used to that power but, it just felt weird, the steering was definitely weird, but he drove it like a beast
Next drift week you should see if you can go to tri city raceway that has banked turns!
Dude this thing is wicked fast, we got to kick it it with John down at KLUTCH kickers and he took me for a spin and gahleee she absolutely rips !!!
Need the follow up on this :)
Johnathan is a cool dude.. he saved my weekend at no star bash last year by selling me his extra kendas
"but that's kind of irrelevant for this conversation" 🥇🏆
Nice 👌
Great stuff . I've chased a couple of drift cars but never driven one but looks like amazing. 👍
Sick.
I wanna hear your opinions on Camaro's Aaron. Do they work for drifting, how do they compare to other american sports cars like the C5 and C6 corvettes or BMW E46's and such.
Tyler Macquarie used to compete in a gen 5 (I think) Camaro in FD
Look up zack Calvin on CZcams 🙌🏽
driftstangs ftw
I'm just thinking about airbags going off when hitting something
The guy giving this interview is hilarious 😅😂
I wanted to see more of the stang drifting. That thing looks nasty
Plz rephrase this 🤣🤣
@@rolandojunieljr.924 thanks
@@MrBassbump wasn't being mean btw just sounded a bit off have a good day 👍
@@rolandojunieljr.924 I didn’t take it as such. I messed up and it needed correction. All good
Fr fr Df all this talking
I wanna have a beer with this guy at parc
I was lucky enough to do that
wish we could see pov/incar footage of it driving on track
He definitely should get a wreck 5.0L GT and turn it into a drift car.
Crazy cuz I was literally thinking about having a build like this seconds before seeing the notification for this video
9:29 thanos does have a nice mustang
Does it have any cage?
no
I didn't see this thing without a debeaded tire all weekend
Yeah what was up with that lololol?!
Probably running tire pressures too low.
@@carcrobatics yea I was running 14 psi hot. After villains I started airing up to 30 and it was fine
@@jonathandurham726yo man I love your car I have a 19 bullitt myself. What angle kit are you running? I didn’t catch it in the video.
@@notjesse2458 fdf that I cut and shortened the arms to make it look better
2011 to 2014 best looking modern mustang
"its stock....well except for the blower"
Yeah but it is a factory ford blower installed by dealership, so I’d argue it’s stock in a way.
What he means is it’s simple, these are all bolt ons and make the car more reliable
What angle kit is this?
Fdf with shortened lower arms
Big sad we can’t spectate at evergreen!
Why is there no camaros drifting?
Bc makes coilovers for the flex and escape but not the crown Vic. This is why I get grumpy at the promotions telling me to check out coilovers for my car but they don't make em. I'd love if they did
That's because crown vics are only good for demo derby.
@@robvanderkroft6515 that’s not true there’s lots of dudes that drift Vic’s
@@COCarDude in competition ?
@@robvanderkroft6515 grassroots yes but anything more than that they are too heavy and slow normally.
@@COCarDude which is why not many places make aftermarket parts for it . Like bc coilovers.
😎😎😎👍👍👍
There's a target on his rear quarter now. Lol
I am genuinely curious why out of literally every video you have ever made absolutely none of you guys will ever even think to talk about a hyundai genesis as a drift car.... Why would a 350z be great as a drift car but not a cheap 2.0 turbo or 3.8 v6 2 door genesis with a manual trans?!? I don’t want one myself buy why would they not be everywhere in the drift scene like 350z’s?? Please let me know if you actually know.
the genesis motors are junk they spin bearings and break rods constantly. spend a week on the genesis groups and you'll see why people dont drift and race these cars.
Genius sucks the power just isn't worth the hassle on them (touge racer)
@@VS666 Ok hmm that’s unfortunate. Thanks for that info.
3.8 is fine to drift. Plenty of power . Most ppl with genesis coupe chassis complain about a lot and don’t mod the car appropriately for their application. It’s no different then any other car. Angle , suspension. And locked diff and it drives good. Bolt ons and tune will help the throttle respond and power pickup a lot better since the stock tune is very lethargic.only other big short coming on the car is resolving diff bushing issues. Stock diff bolts tend to snap with aggressive final drive ratios and driving the car hard. So upgrading to a better diff mount & upgraded bolts will be needed after a while drifting and stock soft bushings wearing out .
Things to note is used engines are pricy usually running about 3500 on average.clutch kits can be pricy for say a stage 3 comp clutch that runs about $1200
Never saw the point in removing ac and heat I'd rather drift my shit and keep it lol
I bet that ECU Master sponsorship is a little awkward now that Link is a requirement for FD.
Yeah for 9 grand plus flag hours you could have a roush phase 1 supercharger kit with a 36000 mile warranty........🤔🙊😘
anyone else hear the guy talking in the background in the first 3 minutes? creeped me out
how could y’all forget Corvettes! when talking ab manual V8 drift cars 😭😭😭
Did you just call the FRS/BRZ/86 irrelevant
"The gt350 are no faster than a regular coyote mustang." Alright kids thats enough internet for today. And hes not gonna break 5th gear its not the trans that breaks its the shifter fork on the mt82 that breaks. No but seriously though why try to keep making him overthink his decision when hes already said he has more money in the s13 and it doesnt run vs this turn key car. Its preached so much buy a turn key car then somebody buys it and now its bad they are preferring the turn key car that cost less than the project just because its newer, thats contradicting af and makes 0 sense. Should be glad he picked the turn key car since thats whats pushed so hard these days.
Have you ever driven a GT350? They are super disappointing. I have driven them back to back a good bit, it is really odd the GT350 is so hyped up. I think the auto v8 mustangs one year later were faster than the GT350.
@@LoneStarDrift gt350 fbo, e85, 4.56 gears pulling to 9k is yes similar but yet different from a coyote. Yes a gen 3 coyote can do 500 with intake, headers, and e85 but its not the same.
A stock GT350 is faster than a NA coyote, but GT350 is a better handling car than the GT. Coyote’s also produce more torque because the GT350 is a flat plane crank, making the GT better for drag racing and better for drifting.
talk yourself in circles and go back to sleep
@@despizedicon damn alright imma go back to sleep lol
David Kelly A stock GT with the 10r80 is actually faster than the gt350. The manual trans GT is slower tho.
@@Steven-rn1oo very true. The 10r80 is a beast. It’s faster in most ways in straight line
You were using stock as an absolute for a bunch of stuff that's not
Well it’s stock motor. Only thing modded is suspension, brakes, and wheels. And the addition of a hand brake. Everything else is stock.
@@davidkelley751 I want to put air condition seats in my car. A/C is not enough
@@davidkelley751 that blower is 100% not stock for a GT
@@clutchkickpj693 that blower is oem
@@clutchkickpj693 true but not true. The car doesn’t come with a blower. But dealers can order a blower and a tune and install it at the dealership when the car is brand new. So in a way yes it’s stock, but you can believe otherwise.
Similarly in 2005 you could purchase a ford GT and option a performance package which would add on a smaller pulley and tune which would be installed by a dealership. And technically the car is stock.
In my opinion a stock car is one that either still has all factory parts or that has a warranty with modded parts. Considering you could buy a mustang GT with a blower and still have a warranty in my opinion means it’s stock.
And then he went and had it caged and wrecks it 🙃
Wrong, you cannot get overfenders for these cars lol
I made some for my older mustang by cutting up and bolting them on top of others lol.
@@LoneStarDrift I've considered that with oem ones a couple times lol
Or make your own.make a fibreglass mould from originals
@@tinoguarino6937 my originals fucked up lol

I have had half a dozen of you watch the channel lol
I'm not trying to talk shit but i'd be surprised if Aaron wasn't on the spectrum. The way he interacts with people has always been odd.
Dang bro why you got to drill with the questions so hard like an interrogation, it's an interview making it hard to enjoy focusing on you and your input otherwise it could just be a camera and just be talking about a car and you could not even be in videos anymore and if they just had a list of questions or topics to talk about real quick and spots on the car to go to for the shots with
