🔥GUIDE TO MOVING TO BGC: www.thesavvyexpat.com/
What is BGC
Hey, thanks guys! Great interview! As a black man, I’ve always had a very positive relationship with all my Filipino friends here in America. So I’m really looking forward to going to the Philippines early next year to enjoy some island hopping. Definitely on my top two places to check out for retirement.
BEEN HERE 6 YEARS LOVING IT.
You’ll love it here! Every black friend I have here gets treated great.
I've been here seven months today, May 5th I landed and never looked back. You're so right about how welcoming these people are towards melonated men like ourselves. I can't remember the last time I saw so many smiley faces. The Pinay experience here is on a whole other level! Other than business I have no interest in going back to the West.
Thanks, Evan for having me, it was a pleasure speaking to you about my experience in the Philippines 🇵🇭 and hope it won’t be the only one. Looking to come back, God willing.
For a more thorough breakdown this is how much I spent there, incase someone is curious.
Grab (Uber ) + Food + Entertainment ( social drinking and eating out ) : $568.29
Airbnb: $1165
Night life : Revel at the palace :$150, Poblacion $60
Boracay: $438 ( 4days/3 nights) Flight + hotel + island activities ie island hoping, snorkeling, ATV etc
Total : 1733.29 without boracay and Nightlife
Thanks for cost breakdown Mark 🇵🇭 Hope to see you again back here
Part two 👀👀
Philippines is amazing! Love the people the most! Have a great week!
You too!! Where are you guys located?
@@TheSavvyExpat We are in Seattle working 90 to 100 hours a week to finish our hotel project there in Cagayan De Oro City! We will be there again for Christmas to see family and check on our house and our hotel! Thanks!
@@OHANA-Beach-Suites-CDO thats so cool man! Keep us updated
@@TheSavvyExpat For sure! I would love to meet you later for interview. I also want to see BGC!
Love it in the Philippines been there twice already Bohol Cebu metro Manilla and El nido i haven't been to BGC yet coming back in a few weeks. Love your videos they give me great ideas!
Howdy :) From Illinois but now been in Tanza, Cavite for 2 weeks. Loving it here!
Fellow Illinois boy! Where from Illinois are you from and why did you choose Cavite?
@@TheSavvyExpat Ottawa, IL. Chose here because my LDR girlfriend lives here.
Finally with her after talking online for 3 years.
I'm really loving the new interview format to the show.
Glad to hear that! We got lots more coming.
Good interview Evan, thanks !!
Thanks for tuning in 🙏🥂
This is so dope great video
Amazing video brother
Soul brothers always welcome in the Philippines!
Nice content.
You can tell Evan is from chicago by that handshake at the end. It has the perfect amout of popping sounds to it. Lol
Yessir!
Really makes me consider moving to the Philippines
I live in the Philippines and no one has ever held a door for me. I can leave the mall with packages and the Filipinos will slam the door right in your face. A guy turned around and looked at me and I had arms full and he slammed the door in my face. The security guard even said why did you do that to the man. I'm in my 70s.
as a Filipino i can attest that Filipino values is fading so quickly specifically in urban areas.
@@lexlier8336 it's just common sense and respect. Common sense isn't a commodity in the Philippines. Sorry but true.
There's class and then no class
Might be you are rude to them
That's why he did that because normally we respect everyone so that might had happened
Evan, you would love KL. You are very close to Kota Kinabalu. Kind of like Malaysia's provences.😁Malaysia is a Muslim majority country...no alcohol. Exceptions are made for non Muslims, but it costs more and more restrictions on who can sell alcohol. The food scene in Malaysia is amazing.😋
Hey! Is the new studio in a coworking space? Im very curious to know
It depends on what kind of work you do! Manila KNXN is a pretty private space but I can get you to meet the guys behind it. Shoot me an email 🔥
Speaking of my hometown San Francisco 🌉, a decent place is $4000 per month. Add utilities. The 2 can be $5000 per month. 😖
For my hometown feel in Metro Manila, I prefer Eastwood City. Family name of the most famous San Francisco actor for less than 1/2 the price quoted above. 😎
Good 👍 episode.
only yooooo know that chineez game
I enjoy your channel .I am older than you but I live in New York . I am a retired schoolteacher. I went to Morgan Park High-School Class of 1972 I am visiting the phillipines this Novermber and Thailand. It could be a possible place for me to retore I guess I will find out
I hold the door in NY all the time as others do for me.
I find Americans as nice as Philippinos and less nosyActually, retail workers have better attitudes than most filippinos working.
There is a lot more Filippinos who want to come here than vice versa.
Come to Park Ave or Sutton place in Manhattan and there is no litter, beggars or crime.. the rest of Manila is filled with, crime, beggars, unless you are only going to stay in BGC..
Ok. How's the state of wokeness/mental illness there?
First time I heard this that culture of Filipino is like that
Maybe depend how you treat them because we are not like what you mentioned... GODBLESS
hehehe. leave some ladies for us, funny guy :)
Sounds like he’s just on holiday lol 😂..A nice condo and a above average lifestyle in Makati/BGC is going to cost you triple that especially if you have dependents. If ya like coffee ..it’s gonna cost $..a month.
If he thinks people in Florida are aggressive, he needs to come to Atlanta 😂
Atlanta is a whole nother level 😂 People in Florida are mellow compared to chicgao
bgc is really better than san francisco
Dubious monthly calculations there 🤔. $45 per night = a minimum of $1350 per month. Which leaves $250 for groceries, eating and drinking out + transports for a month. $8 per day for all those things. Sorry no 🤷♂️. Especially not in BGC.
..............Why don't you just say you cant afford it...period. It's not for a Hobo.....plus you compute the rental on a daily rate. If you do a monthly rental it can go down to less than $1K. Go look and see if you can find a cheaper rent in the US with all the conveniences of a modern city. A 1-BR apartment in LA will cost you $1800-2000 plus a month or even more and it's a 35 y.o. apartment with lots of cockroaches and your neighbors are the homeless people.
Yeah, seems unreal, especially in BGC. In reality, it'll probably cost nearly double that. Maybe that's possible in the provinces.
I'm poor here in the U.S. with a passive income of $1,700 a month, could I survive on that in the Philippines? BGC?
For me BGC 1 room condo 25k a month furnished, croceries and food are damn cheap, for me 1k a month including rent, electricity, wifi and going out once in a whike to a bar not drowning myself with alcohol, just for a shot. But if you want to drink alone hell yeah 250 paysos 1 bottle of whisky.
Black people is more welcome in Thailand , u guys should try in thailand , its more cheaper , safe , night life is same as west , red light district is allowed no discrimination. Livable place thailand. 1
I thought gossiping was a big cultural thing in the Philippines.
Very true
@@TheSavvyExpat he's really enjoy the community of africans esp kenyans in ph
You will get shock how big gossiper Germans, you dont see them in the road gossip with others but they are whoaa.
The pinay battlecry, once you go black, there's no turning back 😂
black white or polkadot we are all Gods creation😅😅😅 no big deal for us
BUT NO MEDICAL CARE
Feeling sad for you. Cant even afford trousers that go to your ankles.
You might find yourself feeling more melancholic. Observe one of his earlier videos, and you’ll see a clear difference in his economic standing, evident by his attire of ripped Levi's 501 jeans.
😂
That's the Michael Jackson style!
Smooth criminal, man!
