- We have some brand new plot details on how Infinite came to be and more in Sonic Forces
In a recent interview from Famitsu, Iizuka and Nakamura were interviewed about the villains and how they take part in the story of Sonic Forces. We find out some details of how Infinite came to be, as well as how the other villains will take part in story as a whole! I analyse what I can from the new information given as well as giving some of my story predictions! Unleashed actually had a good story, I liked chip and the end of the world scenario, anyone agree

Have you seen the Egg Dragoon boss fight on this game? If you look at its wings, they're Red like ruby instead of Azure.The Phantom Ruby's name is taken as red gemstone of illusions. That means the Phantom Ruby must've realistically altered the Dragoon's powers and altered the Eggman boss fight from Sonic 1 and turned it into a swinging spinning chainsaw. As for Metal Sonic from Sonic 4 Episode 2, His strange Ergokinetic powers combined with the Phantom Energy, as I'd like to call it, must've gained the upper hand of doubling the chances towards Sonic.

I'm here to state a fact. The fact is that these villains might be even more powerful than before Sonic could ever get stronger later. Remember how you've seen Sonic getting stronger than PERFECT Chaos? That could be the result of Sonic's strategy and an other reason why Eggman used the Phantom Ruby to empower Metal Sonic, Chaos, Shadow,and Zavok MORE.
I honestly like what I'm seeing from the story so far. It is getting very interesting in a good way in my opinion.

Calling it now, we're gonna see the same ending trope that we've seen in so many earlier 3D Sonic games near the end of Forces. Infinite's gonna betray Eggman, which causes him to team up with Sonic & the resistance to take him down, leading Infinite to be the final boss, which leads to Sonic turning super along with his classic self & the avatar to beat him.

Based on what we've seen from the shards of the Phantom Ruby in Sonic Forces: Speed Battle, I think Eggman only has part of the Phantom Ruby and hasn't been able to power up Infinite fully. Maybe the Resistance/Classic Sonic have pieces or the final piece and that's what's stopped Eggman from taking over the rest of the world. Just a theory.
I'm glad to hear this because I really wish people would stop jumping the gun just because he's in a tube of Eggman's with him saying "work into this instrument of destruction/my ultimate weapon is complete" when that can just be seen as instead Infinite can just be a envoy of his hatred that he put his effort and sweat into perfecting with the modifications he saw fit.
This supports the theory even more that Infinite can just be any unlucky animal character that came into contact with the Phantom Ruby and was a friend of the avatar's before being Eggman's ultimate warrior of destruction in finally reaching his goals.

ChaddyFantome you make it sound like everybody who dislikes the game only hates on it for that one reason, the gameplay was pretty lame all you did was run forward and you have to use the analog to move left or right and you can occasionally jump,the level design,execution and controls were awful, thats just my opinion

My theory on Green Hill Zone is that that is where Sonic has disappeared to; he is being held captive by Eggman, and your first mission is to save Sonic as the Custom Hero. That could at least give Green Hill relevance to the story.

Well, no matter what anyone tells you, Infinite is a wolf. That's why the wolf avatar is being promoted SO much! He was first to have artwork, is in a CINEMATIC TRAILER, the story trailer cutscenes. Compare the wolf to Infinite's design. Strange, isn't it? They have to be related somehow and they can start by having them be the same species. Right?
If Infinite isn't a wolf, that's the dumbest design flaw ever.

Black Knight was pretty much the last game with a good story. Was the last game I really enjoyed too. I liked Gens but it wasn't anything special to me, and I never played Lost World, I've just seen the cutscenes and such.
I'm thinking Infinite's chest has either a shard of the Phantom Ruby (since it was a pretty big gem honestly) or just a different gem Eggman made that was like the phantom ruby a la Tail's fake chaos emerald.
I don't think they'll return anything past Sky Sanctuary, if EVEN that. You could be right, but who knows until later. Depending on what they do with the level's aesthetics I won't mind anyway.
Also the level design isn't that great from what we've seen, to be fair, you bringing it up was fine. :^)
Plymouth the Cat At the same time, when putting more story emphasis onto the game level design does tend to get more restricted, as they have to fit together relatively cohesively in the story.
So this is likely why we see more returning places- they're more unique areas but very well cemented into Sonic's world, so it doesn't seem too strange to see the characters there.
The last bit was more of a joke thingy lmao. The level design ain't tearing me up and I'm still super excited to play the game but I still think it's not that great. I know for sure I'll still have fun regardless.
I think i got the story:
Eggman got the ruby
Merged it and a captured citizen
Infinite is made and eggman can control different dimensions
Shadow is shown a dimension with Maria or one where she survives
Cahos is back from the past
Zavok is from a dimension where the deadly six won
And metal sonic is brought back from mania or rebuilt by eggman.
And these guys are powered up by infinite

I wonder how Modern Eggman found the Phantom Ruby. CLassic Sonic and the Phantom RUby must've been in the Modern DImention for some time. I'm very interested in the story. I hope to god the story doesn't suck.
I am making a 45 minute Skit mixed with some try not to laugh challenges. What I'm trying to say is that what you just said Twip is part of my plot in my skit you just put the pieces together. The clues are The Custom Character and Infinite know each other and were friends and the phantom ruby is originally from the real world. Basically what happens just before Sonic Mania and Sonic Forces. Releases on October 19th 2017.

They could've easily made brand new levels for "world building" so your excuse is extremely idiotic and you come off as desperate. Adventure 2 was also an anniversary title and it didn't involve us going back to Emerald Coast or Windy Valley all over again. What's Forces' excuse?
Ace Well at the time of adventure 2, people didn't have NEAR as much nostalgia for sonic as it had basically only had 5 games. (1, 2, 3&k, CD, and Adventure, and no the spinoffs don't count.) For Forces it's less of a nostalgia pandering thing and more a "using locations that actually make sense" thing. SEGA's not looking at Forces as "hey, how can we pander to the fanbase?" They're looking at it completely from a story perspective. We might look at, say, Chem Plant, and only see that one stage from Sonic 2, but SEGA's looking at it from Eggman's perspective. Eggman was just thinking, "hey, where can I store all these weapons? Oh, I can drain out the ol' Chem Plant and use it for a storage depot!" Then Knuckles looks at the plant and decides "hey, we should put a stop to this! Rookie, GO!" See my point?
Tl; dr: They didn't add in old places to pander to nostalgia this time (for the most part). This time, they looked at the script for the game and picked the locations that made the absolute most sense in that context.
P.S. I'm sure SEGA could've made up entirely new stages, and it would've worked just as well, but think about where they are right now. They're still on pretty rocky ground, and keep in mind they're trying to make Forces a game for all fans, old and new. So still including old stages makes sense, as they're trying to get Sonic back on a safe spot. So yeah, there's a little bit of nostalgia pandering, but based on SEGA's comments right now, such as the infamous "there's no adventure 3, we want to move the series forward" comment, I can almost guarantee that if Sonic Forces does well, there'll be little to no nostalgia pandering by the next game.

I'm more excited for the story than the game. Gameplay seems fine. But the story seems more promising. The last time we had a game with a good story was Unleashed.
Infinite is actually a jackal of the jackal squad who is a mercenary and uses the phantom ruby.
Thank god he wasn't created by Eggman (I had my doubts so im glad they were answered) Im going with my previous prediction based on that scene. Something pissed off infinite and drove him to darkness, he decides to team up with eggman and power up eggman's forces using the phantom ruby. (as shown in the video with all the cubes in cylinders, think of them as separate power sources). So eggman is just teaming up with Infinite with no mind control involved. That said, I cant wait to see all the other villain's side of the story. Especially Chaos.

Crazy hypothesis: classic eggman is helping the resistance, hence why we haven't seen him, although it can be assumed classic eggman and classic sonic got transported to the future (as the end of Sonic Mania implies). Why would classic Eggman help the resistance? I don't know, that's why its a crazy hypothesis.

Black Knight was awesome.The acting was overall very good, Sonic is such a joy, but is serious in the right spots, and there wasn't a bunch of plot holes or confusing lines and contradictions like in some of the others.

TWIP I had this thought for some time, Is it possible that Infinate might reform insted of getting killed off in the game`s end of the story?
Because we know that it looks like The Custome Charicter was trying to give him a fist bump, almost like as in the C.C was trying to reach out to him convincing him to turn away from being bad.
In the Story trailler Infinate also said "fine I will show you fear and then pain", does this mean that maybe Infinate
tries to make the Custome charcter join with him and Eggman, almost like as if Infinate would like to be friends with the custome charcter but only if he turns to Eggman`s side?

We never actually see Eggman make Infinite, so why does everyone assumed that was the case?
hmmm....I have a theory.It is possible that a small part of infinite's power or power source in the other maun villains for 2 reasons. First of all, if you notice the infinite story trailer, the enemies' eyes are all red,while they have other eye colour. In addition, in the story trailer,we see metal sonic with infinite cubes starting spinning around him, so some infinite power must be IN metak sonic.

Okay good, Eggman didn't create him, he simply enhanced him. That makes more sense. Infinite simply being created from scratch by Eggman would have been a boring explanation.

He was apart of the jackal squad and tried to stop sonic because they thought shadow was causing chaos (no pun intended) but the jackal squad was defeated and eggman found the phantom ruby and found the jackal squad dead expect infinite and eggman gave infinite the phantom ruby to become powerful and infinite thought sonic is shadow so that's my theory
If infinite turns out to be someone like sonic or one of the other characters
The only way I would want that to happen is by the multiverse theory in the game

I like the new bit from the interview. I agree that black knight was the last good sonic game story. I think it would be pretty lame if infinite is the oc's friend. There r just to many stories like that and now it's just getting boring. Not always bad they say well that means it could be either blaze cream or big for all we know.

I just want this game to be like Unleashed... amazing story and fun gameplay, and challenging boss fights, and a super sonic ending...
This is something that I want personally, but if infinite is too powerful for the resistance, bring back the master emerald, transform the chaos emeralds into super emeralds, sonic/s (and maybe the avatar) go hyper and wreck his shit.

I LOVED Sonic Generations, but it did not have a good story. I mean Mario is not winning awards for story, but if Sonic Team made the level design and gameplay like generations, or similar to it, with a good story, the game would be awesome! And of course the music!

I was looking at something to do with mephiles is not infinite when I seen a good theory that the writer said was probably not true that theory was that infinite is big the cat and then everything fell into place in the sonic time line. To start in sonic one there was fish and I think these indescribable fish are actually froggy clones and big the cat is useing dr egg man as puppet this game is at the end of the time line big has ruled the world and only a few pleases are live able like angle island. But to the start of the time line sonic adventure 1 you see big the cat is trying to find his frog 🐸 but then at the end of the game sonic steals froggy secretly and gives him to metal sonic then sonic hero’s
So then a historic event happens big the cat disposed of egg man and became him with a costume(that he can take off) he then stated to make a space station that would scan the moon to see if froggy was there but he academically made it have the ability to blow up the moon so instead he started to make the ultimate life form (in game it even looks semi reptilian) he also enslaved a kid called Moria to find froggy but apparently she soon died because shadow spin dashed into her. Big saw sonic trying to stop him so he gave him many challenges to face and made the Chao garden to distract him. But then half the moon blown up and froggy was there big though froggy was dead until he saw a little green dot. Then it is sonic forces one day big fishes up the phantom Ruby and desides to do some exisises and jumps in a oil bath and becomes infinite he then partners up with a Robo dr egg man and then takes over the world in the end he sees knuckles is froggy and froggy was leading a resistance against him
Big is now thinking and in the mean time takes over the world then sonic 1-4 then sonic but then he makes a being to change time till when froggy was alive (froggy so old now froggy is dead) that leads to the events of sonic generations and then big finds froggy and then sends him into the vacuum of space because froggy was his biggest enemy big then gets lazed to death by froggy as froggy wants revenge
