Odyssey is stunning visually, but the worlds lack a mario feel. If slightly altered i could easily see link inhabiting it. Except for the modern areas.

My take on the remixes: Tropical Resort: It's decent, the piano is what brings it down. Sweet Mountain: They really dropped the ball with this one.(It's bad imo) Starlight Carnival: Absolutely Godlike! The guitar and the shooting star like sounds create a perfect atmosphere for the level and manages to sound better than the original! Planet Wisp: This ain't that bad tbh. It may not fit, but that doesn't make it an atrocious remix. Aquarium Park: The Japanese instrumentation was what the Original was missing, and this remix added it. Great! Asteroid Coaster: While not having the same energy as the Original, this manages to fit the stage very well and sound good! Terminal Velocity: Easily my favorite remix in the whole remaster! I was afraid of it missing the sense of urgency the Original had, but luckily it didn't! The guitar manages to sound diferent but without missing the urgency the Original had. Excellent job Jun Senoue!

Sunshine is my favourite 3D Mario its very personal to me and i love the moveset available with fludd and i also prefer fewer stars/sprites/moons that are much more involved to get though, Odyssey has loads of moons but many arent particularly interesting to get theres just to many that its not special to get them after awhile imo.

For the seizure enducing glitches, it seems to be more of a corruption glitch more then anything. I am guessing the day one release of the game, the result of the. Just moving the entire game into a new engine must of messed up the game pretty bad.

4:19. Here is where the downfall exactly started. Gamefreak poured their hearts out in creating gen 5 and yet it sold lesser copies than the newer games after it. I think Gamefreak caught on and just decided to wing it. Why put in effort when people will just buy the games anyway? Even with Sword and Shield being the most controversial games they released besides BDSP and Scarlet Violet, SwSh ranks second best selling games just behind RBY. The data I'm looking at is as of March 2024.

I know this isn’t the point of the video, but seeing both versions side-by-side makes it clear that Ultimate’s textures and models are are massive improvement over the original, it’s just the lighting that makes it look like shit.
