I absolutely love this cap! Thank you for this stylish pattern. I'm making some for my daughter who is a nurse and she so appreciates them. I may have found a little short cut for anyone who hates threading things through casings as much as I do. I thread the elastic through the casing before attaching the ties. Then I wiggle the ends of the ties back into the casing after attaching the elastic and stitch everything in place.

  • @pattysherwood7091

I made 5 of these today. I love them. I actually figured out to tie the ties over the elastic to smooth it if my hair is in a higher bun. I use these as prayer coverings! And since I might pray at any time, I wear something all day. This cap is prettier than just a kerchief. And if I feel very old fashioned, I can tie the ties under my chin. ...and because it’s hard to be perfect, I make my opening for turning on the front seam but at one side , not center, so if my closing is wobbly, it will be on the side of my face by my ear. Thank you so much Laura

Thank you so much for this pattern. I made 22 scrub caps for the nurses that work in my DIL's ER unit. I used up my stash of batik fat quarters, and print fat quarters. I feel the need for some retail therapy coming very soon!

This design is basically the same as an "apron tichel" but with elastic helping out the gathering. I think it's beautiful for every day.

I did the measuring as you showed, Laura, and cut my fabric mine 16" x 18", and for my 7 year old grand daughter, 14" x 16". We both have short hair, and our caps fitted us both perfectly. Thank you.

I made your scrub cap for my daughter-in-law who is a nursing home nurse. Now, I am making them for her co- workers. Thank you so much. This is a rural community and supplies are scarce.

I've never sewn. I don't even know how to use a machine, but I ordered one and am going to teach myself. I'm going to try w/ this video when it arrives. Thanks.
