This is a very easy project, loved it!
2 minor things which I did differently:
-when folding the cap part, instead of measuring, just fold it in half wrong sides together at first, and fold the halves onto themselves. The folds are going to be perfect this way.
-to minimise sliding when stitching the edges together, sew two layers at a time. With a bit of practice the stitches are gonna end up on the same spot.
Ps.: You are a great teacher! I saved a lot of your educational videos into a playlist!
And now I can wear a comfy spacious scrub cap in the OR while my patients are asleep. Cheers from Hungary!

This is fantastic! I really appreciate you sharing this project, and doing so with such clear instructions. I started sewing masks about 6 months ago and can't believe we're still at it...after seeing this, I feel reenergized and excited to continue sewing and donating. I plan to make matching sets of masks and caps to gift to healthcare workers. We need to show appreciation to all the people taking care of us!

This is great! Do you think it would work with a fat quarter that's 18 X 22? It would be a little shorter on each side by 1/2 inch but longer in the back unless you cut off some extra.

There’s NO WAY I can sew the ends together! I jammed up 3 times, had to tear apart the bobbin area to remove the jam. I used a zipper foot, hand turned, to no avail. This is ridiculous. I have a Juki machine that has handled all I’ve thrown at it. This is a fail :-(

    • @KatRo13834

My machine kept eating mine too. What finally ended up working for me was starting from the middle and using reverse then going down. After the first swipe through it wouldn't much my ends anymore.
I also made multiple headbands and switched to a thinner fabric for one, and used less layers for another that was for a friend that wanted a thicker band, and I had a slightly easier time after that first swipe as long as I started in the middle.

I love this pattern - we are making headbands and caps - thought this would save us time and fabric - however, my needle keeps breaking when I try to sew ends - when you do it looks like it goes through easily - I am using thin fabric - any suggestions?

I hammer down the thickness by using a meat pounder. Just hit the thickness a few times to compress the layers before sewing.
