      1. Regarding the Minsk agreements. They contained an important point for Putin: the autonomy of the DPR/LPR and the ability to veto all decisions of Kyiv. This is actually a stranglehold for Kyiv, since this boil in the Donbass is exactly what Putin needed to prevent Ukraine from being independent. Yes, there is no need to seize Ukraine, it is enough to have your own pro-Kremlin president there, like Yanukovych was. Therefore, Maidan 2014 threw Yanukovch off the throne. For the same purpose, a Russian purulent abscess in the form of Transnistria has been created in Moldova for more than 30 years, which would have been created under Yeltsin. Moldova wanted to join NATO? Never!
Putin didn’t take over Belarus either, it’s just that Lukashenko has long been Putin’s tame president. Belarus is actually under the control of the Kremlin. Or does anyone doubt this?
      2. If Putin doesn’t need Ukraine, why did he tell Carlson for half an hour his historical fantasies of the causes of the war starting from the 7th century?
      3. Does Putin not care about Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania? Haha, but for some reason that's where the most anxiety is now. Probably everyone in these countries is idiots? Doesn't Putin care about Finland and Sweden as NATO members? Once again haha, so he doesn’t care that his access to the Baltic Sea is closed? And don’t even give a damn about Russian Kaliningrad? Very funny. Especially if you remember his words: “If Crimea had not been taken, then NATO would have stood there.”
John Mearsheimer is not an idiot, he is Putin's agent. He keeps silent where he needs to, and distorts somewhere. If a literate person sat in front of him, or even in front of Putin, with all the facts in hand, he would have smashed both John Mearsheimer and Putin into dust. They both dissemble, distort facts and juggle facts. In fact, Mearsheimer still has a lot of holes in his arguments; there is simply no desire or point in sorting everything out here.

Indeed. While I'd like to commend Piers at least for keeping inviting Prof. Mearsheimer to his show, I am puzzled by his approach to these debates. His questions do not seem to follow any logical path other than the continuous pursuit of a gotcha moment at the expense of the professor, with the invariable result of getting humiliated at every turn by someone who is intellectually way too much above his league. Why does he keep doing it? One possibility is that he's too dense to even realize the beating he receives because the professor is too polite to throw a ko punch and just keeps jabbing him. Either that or Piers is a masochist.

If you don't have them to counter his arguments, you're going to lose. The classic defence of Morgan is to interrupt as soon as he realises his view is being dismantled, but it doesn't work against someone like Mearsheimer. He's too smart, to well-researched and too soaked in facts. He says it himself midway through the interview. We need to hear more voices like his on screens all over the world, and more people with his intellect in high office.

..Putin was talking about Poland invading Czechoslovakia in 1938 ..for Russia the WW2 was set in motion by Munich Agreement in 1938 .. even wikipedia writes about it ...
Within the region originally demanded from Czechoslovakia by Nazi Germany in 1938 was an important railway junction city of Bohumín. The Poles regarded the city as of crucial importance to the area and to Polish interests. On 28 September, Beneš composed a note to the Polish administration offering to reopen the debate surrounding the territorial demarcation in Těšínsko in the interest of mutual relations, but he delayed in sending it in hopes of good news from London and Paris, which failed to come. Beneš then turned to the Soviet leadership in Moscow, which had begun a partial mobilisation in eastern Belarus and Ukraine and threatened Poland with the dissolution of the Soviet-Polish non-aggression pact.[3]
At noon on 30 September, Poland gave an ultimatum to the Czechoslovak government that demanded the immediate evacuation of Czechoslovak troops and police and gave Prague time until noon the following day. At 11:45 a.m. on 1 October the Czechoslovak foreign ministry called the Polish ambassador in Prague and told him that Poland could have what it wanted. The Polish Army, commanded by General Władysław Bortnowski, annexed an area of 801.5 km2 with a population of 227,399 people.
The Germans were delighted with the outcome.[citation needed] They were happy to give up a provincial rail centre to Poland. It was indeed a small sacrifice, spread the blame of the partition of Czechoslovakia, made Poland an accomplice in the process and confused the issue as well as political expectations. Poland was accused of being an accomplice of Nazi Germany.[4]
    First Vienna Awardedit
In November 1938, Poland crossed into Slovakia where a minor firefight took place at Spisz, resulting in two fatalities on the Polish side, before the Slovak withdrawal.[5] Poland occupied some northern parts of Slovakia and received territories around Suchá Hora and Hladovka, around Javorina, and in addition the territory around Lesnica in the Pieniny Mountains, a small territory around Skalité and some other very small border regions. Poland officially received the territories on 1.11 1938

He evaded the question about how he can trust putin. He is either dishonest or absolutely ignorant of human psychology and can't distinguish narcissistic traits and lying like Piers can.
And that NATO promised not to expand to the east is a lie. First of all, there is no such agreement signed (in contrary russia did sign a document respecting other countries choice and freedom of joining alliances etc) Secondly, in the context of when it was mentioned it was about East Germany when it was reuniting with West Germany. Because West Germany was NATO and to the east there was Poland and other countries which were in Warsaw Pact and USSR satellites, so there wasn't even where to expand. And that doesn't even matter, because USSR ceased to exist soon after and everything changed and new agreements were made (like the one I mentioned about russia)

When you live in the first world, losing your wifi connection for a few hours is a disaster. Of course "existential threat" has little meaning to many people, especially people who practice their professions through media and screens, almost hermetically sealed from reality.

Piers plays fast and loose with history. He forgets that Crimea originally voted for independence at the fall of the USSR. It was the US that made the agreement that if they stayed in Ukraine, they'd be 100% autonomous -- and in 2014 Nuland let the new Ukraine regime rescind that agreement - then Crimea went independent again before voting to join Russia.
I could write a book on Piers' blatant biases

He's paid to deliver lines and ask questions. He's a UK gov mouthpiece. I really doubt any will ever know what are his real thoughts on anything. What you see in his interviews, is what his boss thinks.
Just watch him read all his points from the papers he always has lol.

I think Pierce Morgan is very talented interviewer. He interjected some 'official
line' arguments to make it look a little bit like debate, but in reality this was
an interview. Pierce allow John to express himself with exceptional clarity.
