    It's kind of horrifying that, when a Sim goes missing, the very memory of them that other Sims have is distorted and warped beyond recognition. They aren't forgotten, but nobody can remember them clearly, even if it was their best friend, their lover, their parents, or even their child. Like their whole existence is a repressed traumatic memory.

    When I played Ultimate Collection in Strangetown, Johnny Smith would often look out the window and these "squished needs icons" would pop up above his head. My assumption is that he "saw" something invisible through that window, and to this day I wonder what it was 🤷‍♀

    I actually came across the squished interest icons in my rotational pleasant view (Ultimate Collection, by the way).
    However, since Hoodchecker came up clean for me and I take good care of the neighborhood, I did not think it was corruption.
    So, I did some testing in a different test hood, trying to replicate the situation from my pleasant view: a kitchen fire where the stove burned down to a pile of ash.
    When my sim cleaned up the ash, I saw the squiggly lines. In my test hood, this did not happen until I used the same kitchen cc I had in my pleasant view house. Then, they showed up again.
    So, just a heads up for anyone, the squished interest icons can show up in the UC in niche situations and won't necessarily mean corruption ^^

    Hey April, I saw you said you’re working on a Bella Goth video, I have some information you may like. Bella has straight up no DNA, every time I resurrect her and have her and Mortimer reproduce, it’s always a female clone of Mortimer’s DNA, meaning the baby has brown hair as that’s what Mortimer carries the gene for, it’s basically Brandi Broke’s pregnancy but in reverse. Bella also doesn’t have Alexander or Cassandra marked as “known” in SimPE, meaning development-wise, she never met her kids. Viewing Bella and Mortimer’s relationship in an untouched Pleasantview shows that they have the default relationship for a married couple, possibly meaning loading the town is what causes the game to reset Mortimer and Bella’s relationship to the default for sims who aren’t married. Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong, but this is what I’ve found.

    • @aprilblacksims
      @aprilblacksims  Před 11 měsíci +6

      Well spotted with the pregnancy! I actually talk about that in my video, so hopefully I will shed more light onto that issue :) I will also touch on the relationships and the 'Known' flag. • @ninjacraftb
      @ninjacraftb Před 10 měsíci +4

      @@aprilblacksims if you want to look more into beta/deleted content, Bella AND Michael both recognize an unknown sim as their sibling, Alex and Cass recognize this unknown sim as their aunt/uncle. I also spoke to Ray Mazza (he programmed object functions for 2 and worked on the graphic design as well as the lore of Sunset Valley and Riverview for 3) and he told me that the reason Mortimer always rolls a Nina want at the start is a scrapped plot where Nina and Dina would try and compete for Mortimer’s money. If you go into the Sim Wants And Fears, there’s a history section in there which shows hidden history data for the sim, like who they were made in CAS with and such, and it shows that all the Goth ancestors were added to the Goth household, married, then killed, as Mortimer, Alex, and Cass have hidden history of witnessing the marriage of Mortimer’s parents and grandparents, and even the marriage of Simis and Jocasta. Something I want to look into is if Alexander and Cassandra are genetically linked to Simis and Jocasta, as they seem to have DNA unlike Bella.

    Wow, this is really great work! I appreciate how thorough you've been in testing everything out instead of just repeating the misinformation that's already out there. I haven't seen your earlier video yet, but I'll definitely be checking it out - I recently installed the Ultimate Collection and I've been so nervous about corruption given that I have a lot of memories of the game being pretty fragile, heh. Looking forward to seeing you dissect the issue in detail, and anything else you make in the future!

    this is genuinely interesting! I was given a sims 2 basegame dvd not long after its release, and since that have encountered I think most of the bugs you've mentioned in the corruption video, as well as squiggly lines, but I never really looked into it. so it's new info and, again, it IS interesting. great work!💙
    also I think at one point if I downloaded new cc, some of the cc that had already been installed disappeared from the game, but I was what 11 or 12 at the time, so I take my own memories with a grain of salt now (didn't look into it but you've warmed the old interest in sims in me enough to try and find whether or not it happened...)
