Quick resume is only important if you have experienced it. Because it's one of those little quality of life improvements that you just can't live without anymore after a while.

@@LANFEAR93 there is a maximum of games that can be held in quick resume. If you exceed the designated amount of memory set a side for quick resume the game played the longest ago will cycle out.
Also if you've played a (play anywhere) game in quick resume on the cloud, pc or another console the game also needs to re launch even if it's in quick resume to sync with the progress made else where.
Okay, thank you for the information but I play only one game at a time. For a game (AC Vlhalla) that is bought and installed (not game pass) Can it be a sync issue due to network interruption and then I shut down the device and turn it on at a later time? @@MrMickey1987
This is so real! As a busy adult, I thought I preferred PS5 until I got a Series X. Now my PS5 is just taking dust.
I can only imagine. It is one feature I think PS5 is really lacking. When I'm playing games directly from SSD it's not too bad, but when I switch to games on disk drive the loading screen is annoying. Quick, but annoying.

I wish some people would treat gaming as fun. I own both xbox because gamepass is so much better than ps plus and I have ps5 for exclusives. Personally I prefer xbox but my brothers who are playstation to the core simply won't have it some people like xbox and will start an argument with anyone who says a bad word against playstation. Funny thing is they have never so much as looked on gamepass but swear it's shite.
As someone who fell off gaming these last few years, the sales that the Xbox series X had this past holiday season made buying an Xbox almost a no brainer! I’ve been enjoying playing some of my old favorite games again like Dishonored thanks to game pass as well 🙌🏽

@@quietgamer4429 popularity, my friend that’s why! also understand that Xbox isn’t pushing consoles like PlayStation is PlayStations whole model is to try and push out as many consoles as possible. Xbox is focused on pushing game pass and has always been that. from a revenue standpoint they are doing A damn good job a real smart investment. And once consoles phase out which they will Game Pass will still be around. As a ps fan who just got a Xbox it’s mind blowing how we have 4 exclusives that they can remake and the fanboys go crazy and say it’s the best thing since sliced bread lol glad I opened my horizon to other options I think I’m choosing series x for my primary console going forward lol

It's amazing how much extra programable buttons on a pro controller helps. For instance in a lot of games A button is for activation BUT you move with the left thumbstick so you have to take a few precious milliseconds to take your thumb off the thumbstick to open the door or loot the chest etc. A pro controller can remap the activation button to the unused grip which you can in one fluid motion hit with your pinky which also goes unused. ALSO some pro controllers (Razer Wolverine) make the triggers shallower so you have less give before you scope and/ or fire so you get the first shot! I'm just commenting because I hate to see hardcore gamers that just use the standard controllers :(.
But I wanna say, you don't get many reviews like this so late in the console's lifespan, good video!

This is just such an amazing time to be a gamer. I have so far put 100 plus hours in Horizon Forbidden West on PS5 and an equal amount of hours if not more into Cyberpunk 2077 on series X.
I feel lucky enough to have the Spider-Man 2 PS5 and the Halo edition Series X. I still think these are the best looking ones to date. (Yes I know you can just buy the plates for PS5 but I couldn’t find them in stock where as there were plenty of the console packs available.)
Honestly you could easily just only buy those two games and be satisfied for a year if not longer without any further purchases.
I do get free Gamepass though so I love the series X for that.
I also have PS Extra and love how they have more and more PS1 games to muck around with as well as incredible titles . Especially anyone new to PlayStation.
I can’t see why people can’t just enjoy gaming and worry so much what someone elses’s plastic box is 😁

I get the whole “not wanting to be at my desk”, at the end of a long day all I want to do is sit on the couch and turn on the Xbox or PlayStation, feels like a chore turning on the PC and trying to get comfy

@@user-eu3kr9eb1m well controller support isn’t really the problem, more of sitting at a desk rather than relaxing on the couch. Not that all of my favorite games have controller support. If I wanted to use a PC on my Tv, I’d need to spend the money to build one powerful enough for 4K -120fps (my 4060 TI can’t even do that on todays games), make it aesthetically pleasing enough for the living room, get a razer turret or similar wireless keyboard setup, and sit close enough to see all the letters on the screen. Then if I want to watch Apple TV, I’d still want to switch to the convenience of the Xbox app rather than finding it on Microsoft edge.
God, it's good to hear someone not mind contrasting opinions and still relate to it as gaming. We should all be happy, not fall into silly dilemmas over which console "wins". It is amazing to sit down and resume a game without visiting the title screen and stop wherever you want. You make a great content creator. Check back on you next time.
Just bought one after having a one s for a minute and I was not expecting my games to look so good. I lt actually made me feel like a kid again
being a dad , i found myself using my xbox way more than i did with my pc . ive had 2 pc’s and sold em em both and surprisingly my series x is still here 😂 iguess the simplicity of the console is what keeps me playing . just turn it on and go . 120fps is honestly good enough for me .

Hey man good video. I’ve also been playing more console lately over my pc. It’s felt refreshing to just turn on, play and recline.
There’s something hard to pin point why it’s not enjoyable the obvious pick up n play isn’t quite it nor the fact there’s no need to worry about driver updates or general random pc issues.
Someone on Reddit worked it out though, it’s missing soul. Sure PC can do more but just hopping on a console seeing a dashboard and playing a game with no fuss with easy access to seeing a friends list and seeing others online doing their thing. Thats it. I’m sure nostalgia perhaps has a slight role in there too.

I have PS5 and Xbox. I genuinely like the Xbox hardware better, if it wasn’t for the exclusives on ps5 I would only have an Xbox. Game pass is phenomenal, backwards compatibility is excellent. Upcoming games look great, Xbox is starting to get rolling I think.

Agreed, the amount of backwards compatibility with the X Box series X is just one of the great things about the console, especially since I’ve got a huge amount of OG xbox & 360 games in my collection. I can finally play my Timesplitters 2 & ‘Future Perfect games again (just to name a couple) without having to set my old OG X Box up, which is a huge bonus. The rapid resume function is really handy since I do like to jump about from game to game sometimes & the game pass subscription is great aswell,so it all adds up to a pretty bad ass console gaming experience.

Just got mine today, i havent managed to try quick resume since ive only got a couple games installed so far, but the 120fps and insane loading times are amazing

Series x was my first xbox only played on PlayStation before that. I truly love my X to the point I haven't even played on a ps5 yet. I'm looking into getting one soon tho.

Only downside to the disc drive on the Series X is because it's the same disc drive as was in the Xbox One S/X, some 4K blurays will have playback issues because of how large some of the discs can be!
But overall it is good?
Sold off my 3070 Ti build and grabbed myself an Xbox X and a steamdeck. I’m super happy with my swap I never miss my PC. Love how seamless the Xbox is never have to fix anything to make it work. At least once a week as a pc gamer I had something I needed to solve before my games would work the way I want them too

The rumor is that Microsoft might release a slightly upgraded Series X in the next calendar year or so, but nothing Earth shattering. The next fully new console won't drop for another 3-4 years at least
If you've waited this long, I imagine you don't care so much about being on the absolute bleeding edge of new tech. I say go for it. It's a solid machine with an EXTREMELY good value in Game Pass
Do these have HDMI retimer issues like the one x?
not sure what that means, but the xbox no longer has HDMI passthrough if that was a part of the issue.

I have gaming PC with an RTX 4070 Ghost and I still play on my series X. Simplicity is the reason. You don`t need tons of different accounts and launchers in order to play games etc. I love PC but I wish they could simplify so that we did not need so many damn launchers like on consoles.

I got my Series X for $350 from Target the day before Christmas this past year. Which was a steal price wise. Most of my games are Xbox 360 backwards compatible supported titles. I tend to get multiplats for my PS5 only because of the full game being on the disc. To test this I just pop the game in with no internet and have it install. I was disappointed that Starfield did not come on a UHD bluray. I had to download 60GB.
I have ps5 but now im trading it for a xbox series x just to plsy with my really good friends and such good games, plus with Microsoft buying a lot of companies it just makes sense

@@ajibsaladka I dont know what games you guys play but my experience with cross-platform in Street Fighter 6, Guilty Gear Strive and Tekken 8 have been really good (I play on PS5). These games have Rollback netcode so even playing country to country, lag is just about non-existent. More so depends on the individual`s internet speed these days.
EDIT: For reference, I live in Japan and play with friends in America who are either on PC or Xbox.
I have an entry-level gaming laptop (ASS TUF F15, RTX 1650Ti) with XBOX game pass for PC, which works great for most games in medium to high settings (FIFA 23, NFS etc.). I am planning to get a console, but confused between PS5 and XBOX, after watching so many review videos. On one hand, PS5 has great exclusives, and DualSense Controllers with Adaptive Triggers, XBOX X has the Game Pass, which is cheaper in comparison to PS5 Plus subscription in India. Also, XBOX Game Pass Ultimate gives the access to play on Console, PC or Cloud Gaming. So, which one is better to go for? I always wanted a console since childhood but couldn't get one because of financial constraints, but now that I'm working I think I can get one (although not sure if I will get enough time to play 😞). @ryan-9621 - In short No. Streaming Apps Quality are based on the bandwidth and speed of your ISP and Home network. From that point on the upscalling and resolution is then based on your hardware. The Series-S is more than capable of just merely streaming Netflix or any other Streaming App. Enjoy.
No, Blu-ray movies and streaming capabilities are the same, the only difference comes into play when rendering games the Series X can do native 4K, Series S only 1440

I just bought the xbox series x 3 days ago with mw3 and madden '24. It's a cool console! A lot of free games too hit man 3 destroy all humans, destiny 2, rocket league, fortnite. And there's a lot of games with game pass as well. I've been playing too much since I bought it honestly

glad to see so many people have positive opinions on the xsx! ive had mine since day 1, but unfortunately, it's ended up worse for me than the xbone, at least that was an expensive blu ray player. I havent used the xsx for a decent chunk of time now. when i have time free from work, i tend to just go straight for my ps5. this gen started so positively for xbox, but for me, i think the lack of exclusives ended up with me affectively moving to pretty much just my ps5
Given the next gen rumours too, i think it'd be pretty smart if Xbox go with the cheaper version being something like a steam deck/rog ally, and the premium being a full blown console
Was an Xboxer since 2005 but been primarily on PC for 6 years or so. I do miss the simplicity of having just a game library on one system. I like the design, I'd get one if my One S ever dies/stops reading discs. But the PS5 is more "next gen" and actually has exclusives (tho they are trickling to PC), so I'd probably replace my PS4 first. Good video!

Just sold my Series S in order to save up for a Series X. I have a couple of questions....can I lay the console down flat (long ways) and does the disc drive work good with no problems now? I can’t speak for laying the console sideways although I think it’s not best to to do that cause of the disk drive & the fan, as for discs in general just buy disks for your absolute favorite games or the ones that you know we’re gonna have a lot of gigabytes attached to them like call of duty for the smaller games or the Indie games. You can easily play with X cloud and avoid downloading completely, but the ones that you can’t play on cloud, just download the smaller ones and don’t buy the disk.
You will definitely enjoy your console. I had an issues with a couple series s’s too. It’s just the nature of consoles and PCs unfortunately they glitch. I had a PS five digital and I also had issues sometimes but you’re gonna have to. I’m sure the updates keep rolling in you should be fine .
I have a series X on the way and I’m ducking stoked , good luck saving & definitely get the X we won’t get a console this good for 3 more years, have fun❕

What sucks is, I actually bought my Series S (the 500 GB white model) RIGHT BEFORE, the announcement of the black 1tb Series S model. I had no idea it was coming. I was like "aww man, cannot believe I rushed and did not wait!" Lol Digital games aren't so much a problem to me. I don't mind ditching the disc, the issue for me was that little bitty 500GB. you can what three people at once?
I use the TV apps for streaming because they switch to 24hz for movies while the Xbox stays at 60hz/120hz depending on your settings, panning in movies and anime looks awful once you adjust to viewing them on the correct fps. Only Kodi switches hz if you play ripped videos.
There is a setting in xbox for 24hz.
The app must support it, Kodi does, not Netflix, prime, Disney Plus, etc...that's my point, if you have a good 120hz TV DON'T use the Xbox as a streaming player.@@ajibsaladka
Whilst technically speaking it is packing similar GPU parity to a 2070, however due to console optimization and other custom development tools id say these 9th gen consoles especially the XSX are producing result's that look similar to what my 3070 produces, and even then I have to really tinker with settings to get that 3070 to run the latest titles as solidly as these consoles generally do ( there are of course the odd exceptions)
It's a good console it's about equal to a 3070 series x GPU has high cuda cores and super fast memory speed

Dude, I’ve been doing a lot of research cause I’m thinking about buying one for 25 bucks you get it and it’s an Xbox named you get two battery packs and a stand to put the controller into charge it and you don’t have to change the batteries you just just like the PS five stand you just sit your Xboxcontroller in the stand and it charges for like I think it was 2567 when I looked at it definitely a better deal than having to take the batteries out and put them in a charger
I’m in the same boat as the director. I have a decent gaming pc but I find most of the time when I get home after working on computers all day, the last thing I feel like doing is sitting down in front of my gaming pc.
It’s so much nicer imo to sit in my recliner where I’ve got a 65 inch screen and a sound bar with sub hooked up.
As far as Xbox vs PlayStation, what did it for me this generation was basically in 2020 I was actually able to get an Xbox series s when all of the next generation consoles were being scalped.
I did end up later upgrading to the Xbox series x from the series s, however in retrospect while I like my series x, not totally sure upgrading is worth it if you have a series s already. That said I could see myself picking up a ps5 later this year, especially now that the digital edition can be found for 400.

I’m a casual gamer. Love my Series X. Is the console I use the most. Gamepass and the backward compatibility is where is at for me.
Nice perspective. I was a PC gamer for many years first and foremost, but somehow have mostly gotten out of it over the past few years. The pandemic and chip shortages and price gouging hit, and I started to enjoy my PlayStation and Xbox consoles more (love them both) and now I find myself mostly unable to get back into PC gaming.
PC gaming sucks, always gets the worst version of agame and is digital only
I've kinder gone the other way tbh was a console gamer, got fed up with the high prices - I love the fact that I can PC game then take my Steam deck out with me and continue the same game. Nah for me consoles are prob over now for me

Im so tempted to get this just for game pass as a pure digital system already have a ps5 and I'm big into physical disc but gamepass blows Playstation subsciption away in value I prefer ps5 more but this would be a good value as a pure digital with gamepass
Clear Review, have both but I’m more on the ps5 that is because I like more JRPG and there are more live service games.
And I enjoy the Xbox to try some games before I will buy the physical ones.

I bought Xbox Series X December last year for £349.99 I stay in UK 🇬🇧 it’s more for movies tv shows music CZcams and 4K blu ray player I purchased one. However I will be buying Tekken 8 over the weekend and I’m really looking forward to seeing how good the graphics really are

as pc gamer who tbh spent way too much recapturing the comfy factor of my console. I hate being at my desk and sitting in my bed or in my lazy boy helps me unwind so much more
my first series died after 3 months, constant crashing to a grey screen, game swapped it for a new one, since then had no probelms other than the odd crash to dashboard
I have the XBOX for around 3 years already and I love it.
What I like the most is quick resume and the possibility to buy games much cheaper than for a PS5.
I got the PS5 few weeks ago, but only for Demon Souls, Bloodborne and Nioh. Other exclusives are not that interesting to me...well maybe Rise of the Ronin if they don't f it up.
I used to be a heavy pc gamer. Now that I have kids and a family I just have 2 Series X’s. Amazing console 10/10 hopefully they update the controller soon

The Xbox Series X is the best console to me. I just wished more people would give it a chance because all my friends play on Playstation and I'm the only one with an Xbox.

I have a series x a handheld gaming pc and a ps4. I like to have fun everywhere.
This is basically my take exactly, aside from your controller preference. While i look forward to the new and improved Xbox controller and innovations, I much prefer the battery life and AA option vs the dual sense crazy short battery life and non-replaceable battery. I'm a web developer so i spend all day at my computer, while its very capable at gaming, at the end of the day i just dont want to sit at my desk anymore. Much prefer couch gaming, and all the streaming options for the family.
Im also a older gamer, and in my opinion the last real console war was way back in yhe 80s and 90s namely Nintendo vs Sega!
Switched from a ps4 back in 2014 an built a gaming pc. Besides the Internet bill dont have to pay to play on ps plus or xbox live etc
Huge benefits to PC. All my homies are on helldivers and I can't playing with them cross platform, sucksssss

I've never played a X-box. I've only done PC (back in the day) and PlayStation. I only got into PlayStation because when I finally decided to go console I made a trip to Best Buy. As fate had it, Best Buy was out of Xbox console and luckily they had one PS3. I love my PS5, but the resume feature on the Xbox makes me envious. I want Xbox to succeed as competition is always a good thing. Excellent review.
Great summary. From someone who loves PC hardware/tech this is a strong case for console gaming.
I love all gaming, truthfully this is my first Xbox generation I have the series x PS5 and a Godzilla build PC, but I have to say the Xbox quick resume is nice.
Can't afford PC gaming so Series X for me is the next best thing....

Oversized paperweight, sadly. Love my ps5 and PC. My series X just doesn’t get used. I can play all those games on PC via Game Pass. Unfortunately, the only one I really played last year was hi-fi rush.
Ive always been a playstation guy who also has a slightly underpowered gaming laptop. But i went a long while without a laptop, finally got one in 2020. Cannot play 80% of my steam library because windows is horrible now.
So i got a series x last yr. My first xbox that i actually own. I LOVE it. Its changed how im going to go about gaming from now on. Series x back compat is amazing, i actually love the series x controller too. Gamepass is the best deal in gaming history.
Moving forward i will get a playstation at launch, then a yr or 2 later i will get the newest xbox. Ps for exclusives, xbox for everything else.
Xbox (via Series X) was the last platform for me to purchase, and I did so when it launched at the early part of the pandemic. I've become a pretty big fan. It's my most played platform now, mostly thanks to Quick Resume, which was certainly unexpected.
I used to think it'd be kinda pointless because I'd only play one game at a time anyway... but that was only the case until I had the feature. That makes it kind of hard to market/sell, but it's great once it's been experienced.
And as someone who builds mITX/SFF PCs, I've always really liked the look of it.

With the fact that this generation hasn’t exactly been the best in terms of feeling next gen I feel like the series x is a pretty good option for playing older games using backwards compatibility, especially the old cods. Xbox 360 was the place to be back in the mw3 and bo2 days so being able to play those games again with a little better graphics and smoother gameplay is always a good time
It's so refreshing to see comments being positive about xbox there has been so much going around I started with xbox 360 as a kid now with series x I've had no issues with it it dose what I want it to play the games I love its not that deep
Well I always was a console guy, mainly because the costs and the guarantee that during the lifetime of the console I would have games compatible with it, while on PC sometimes but u would need to upgrade to the latest GPU to have a similar experience.
Mind it that I'm talking the experience between the 1990 to 2015, the time were I was a heavy gamer.
Nowadays with social responsibility and family time is not the same. Although I am similar to you in terms of console ownership, but in the 8th Gen - I own both a PS4 Pro, a Xbox One X and a Nintendo Switch plus a PC for Strategy games as Anno 1802 or Civ V.
I do not pretend to buy this new generation mainly because as I said before my time is starting to be limited and since I own a ton of consoles since 1995 that I played as child/teenage or later in adult life aquire, I have an impressive backlog of games that I never played or didn't finish plus a ton of games I want to replay, until the day I leave this world.
We are talking about Mega Drive/Genesis/Mega CD/X32, Saturn, Dreamcast, OG Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One X, SNES, Gamecube, Switch, GBA, New 3DS, PS2, PS3 and PS4 Pro, PSPGo and PSVita plus a Steam library with more than 100 games.
Enough to 2 or 3 lifetimes minimum.
I use the player for 4k movies. Xbox has the best sound features in the market. But the app sucks, movies skip too much on clean disks. They need to update the app big time.

I’m mainly a PC gamer but I play on Xbox for Apex Legends. I feel it’s way faster to get into the next round because PS4/5 and Xbox 1/S/X share the same lobbies.
