    We had a problem with our TL12R2 a few months ago and every time it would have its issue it would shut off. My guys would always turn the key off and try to restart it. That would clear all the codes every time. Finally it did it and they didn’t touch the key. Once in the display we pulled the codes. Ended up being a heat sensor in the DPF. They came out and put a new sensor in and it’s been good to go. Had it for a year now and 1,300 hrs and it’s been great. Getting another TL12R2 next month once it comes in. They are almost impossible to get right now, no inventory until October.

    There was an article on an air study from Southern California about two years ago regarding the def in the new diesels. The def particles were heavier than oxygen so they settled back down to the earth for us to breathe in. I’m with you Sam. The generation of diesels before def were almost as clean as most gas motors

    There are 2 things that will decrease DPF soot loading, first is using a Fuel Borne Catalyst (Better Diesel FBC brand) more complete combustion, lowers the temperature and duration necessary for regen and the second is Delo 600 ADF a new oil formulated without metallic additives which reduces sulfated ash by 60 percent, from crankcase oil mist, which small amount does get combusted.

    Ours did the same. They said it was the dpf header. The machine was several hundred hours out of warranty, we were working in North Carolina, bought the machine back home in GA, we took it to the local dealership, they fixed it under warranty, and the repair parts were on back order, they gave us a rental machine for 2½ months for free!!!! That's service.

    Just for your information "Stage" classifications are European off-highway regulations and "tier" is US off-highway. Since US does not have current regs as stringent as Europe (probably coming with current administration) many manufactures developed their Stage 5 engines and also certified them to Tier 4 Final so they can sell the same engine in multiple countries.

    • @troytreeguy
      @troytreeguy Před 3 lety

      My regulations on emissions in rural Maine USA are more stringent than a friends in Yorkshire UK. He was able to buy a machine with more power exactly equal to my wife’s 2013 model. The machine was unavailable to me in 2019 he bought one new the same year in UK.

    • @codyharring9812
      @codyharring9812 Před 3 lety

      @@troytreeguy are you referring to an off-highway equipment vs a truck? Off-highway always lags behind on-highway, usually 6-10 years. Stage 5 drove the need for DPF on everything, because of this engines were "made dirtier" and cleaned up on backside with aftertreatment. This in turn allows engine to be "pushed" more. At Tier 4F for example Cummins does not have a DPF for anything under 400hp. The engine is cleaned through more controlled engine parameters thus making the aftertreatment "work less" and avoid DPF.

    Hi wondering is def a clear liquid which when dry looks like a crystal deposit ? if yes in the UK/Europe, its called ad-blue which is basically pig piss .... it is sprayed into the exhaust system after the cat and is meant to stick to any particulates coming out of the tail pipe and then stick to the road ,now figure me this, this is meant to keep harmful particulates out of the air ?? !!!!! so why is it plumbed into vehicles with exhaust systems that direct exhaust gases up into the air ,such as stacks on trucks,tractors,tippers off road/highway vehicles etc . Plus its not cheap,cheaper than a gallon of diesel but still adds a lot to the cost of running anything bigger than your pick-up,and yes it stinks and will not do you any good if you breath it in as it sticks to the road so will stick to the insides of your nose/windpipe/lungs .good A !

    • @patriotlandmanagementllc
      @patriotlandmanagementllc Před 3 lety +2

      DEF or adblue is a mixture of urea and what that when coupled with high temperatures in the exhaust creates a chemical reaction to reduce the Nox emissions (nitrogen oxides) coming out the tail pipe ... which creates nitrogen and water as a byproduct. If you smell anything coming from the exhaust there is a failure somewhere

Its assumed someone bought a jug, used it, refilled with water and returned it. Some systems are more sensitive to expired fluids like GM & Fords. I use the Peak in a sealed box so you know it wasn't tampered with. For the extra 4 or 5 dollars the security is worth it.
