- The owner of a Clinton Township building that exploded, sending debris flying that struck and killed a 19-year-old, was arrested at an airport with a one-way ticket to Hong Kong.
So this guy already tried to flee the country, so the judge still gave him half $ Million dollar bond, which he posted, and a tether, thinking that will stop him from fleeing again, ok...
I was thinking just that.
only criminals run?
Unreal, he tried to leave and they gave him a bond... Smh
@@tomp8871 shut up
He didn't do anything wrong when trying to leave to Hong Kong. He wasn't charged with anything until they picked him up at the airport.
He should be held in jail until trial is over, obviously he was trying to skip the country
So cheap he was foolish enough to buy a one-way ticket, too!
I thought he was long gone... CT resident...
Maybe he was going to visit his Chinese relatives
Not sure how you can get bail after being picked up before boarding an international flight.
@@tellucas It's guaranteed in the Constitution.
Man, what kind of Judges do we have??? Ridiculous!!!
Middle Eastern judges of course. It's Little Iraq.
wdym?! #murrica 's judges do what they are payed for.... by lobbyists, rich ppl,politician,companies..... no1 said the us-"legal" system exists to be fair to anyone!
IKR, 2 tiered justice. Guy has 88 indictments in 4 jurisdictions and gets 10 contempt of court violations and he's still running around crying
Outrageous
So you grant him bail? Genius.
Nice to know the judge is taking this seriously. Bail. Really. Stupid
Literal flight risk...bail ?...seriously ?
I can't believe he's out on bond.
WTF is wrong with these judges nowadays?!
Who paid his half a million dollar bail?
This.
He has money and business.

What is to stop him from driving to Mexico?
You tell us
Mexico strictly enforces its borders and doesn’t allow illegals to cross into its country.
Ignorant. Read a book some time. Hong Kong does not have an extradition treaty with the US. Mexico does.
Gas prices.😂

How do you spell naive again?
So the guy tries to FLEE THE COUNTRY. And they give him an electronic ankle bracelet?
Are they kidding? No way he deserves bail.
hopefully he was charged for that bracelet.
It's good to know that our judges are always look out for the criminals rights, while the victims have to fend for themselves, like WTF?
The judge should be held accountable when the turd takes off.... or hurts someone else.
Then we wonder why criminals don't respect the law, what a joke!
Why bail when he tried to flee???
He has underground support to help him Flee again.
Its got electrolytes
judges need to be held accountable for the consequence of their released suspects
maybe all gevernors create a judicial commission to check on all of their judges performances and health conditions every year.
Absolutely. Zero automatic accountability in this country.
WOW!!! Sounds like he knows hes guilty .. should be easy case to prosecute ..
Alternatively it sounds like he knows they are gonna unjustly hang this on him and decided to GTFO before they could.
FFS they literally just said they have no idea what caused it but they are holding him responsible? What would you do if it was you and you knew it wasn't your fault but they were gonna put you in prison anyway?
@@RedWaveGraphics uh, he owned the place and he knew he was storing the crap illegally that blew the place to hell and caused the death of the teenager . Of course he's guilty . It was great getting rich til his stupidity cost a human life though !!! He ran before they even could question him about it ...
@@cindycliburn716 First, I'd like to know exactly why it was illegal to store "the crap".
Second, They just said they don't know what caused it so you say it was his fault. Just because "the crap" was stored illegally does not mean it's the reason the place caught fire.
The place being associated with the legal marijuana industry it's safe to assume people in positions of power will be looking to scapegoat someone and it's pretty obvious who that someone is going to be.
Just because you read/hear something doesn't mean it's true. Try thinking for yourself.
That said, maybe you are right. No way for either of us to know without more information.

@@jimgaston9863 What exactly are you basing your opinion on?
Are you an investigator working this case with information the rest of us don't have? Because apparently the people investigating the incident have not determined what caused it...
I think you are simply accepting a narrative. We're all guilty of it from time to time but at this point it's very important we avoid it whenever we can.
So he's a flight risk but he's not in jail... he must be wealthy.. the legal system is broken and only the powerless pay for their crimes.
He was let out on bond after being caught trying to flee the country....... thats incredible - and not in a good way.
People are locked up for weed with no bond but this short bus judge gives this guy bond. We need a huge overhaul of the "justice system" and start looking into judges to expose their corruption.
The justice system brings an iron fist down on individuals but when industry commits gross negligence resulting in loss of life it’s just a small fine.
So let's see...get's caught trying to flee to Hong Kong with a one way ticket, gets caught and then our illustrious and severely broken justice system lets him out on bail. What a joke.
One of those tearjerker “jokes”
He should be in a federal prison on terrorism related charges! Especially when he was caught trying to leave the country. He was about to go into one where we couldn’t extradite him.
He tried to flee, there should have been no bail!!!
How he get a bond while trying to flee.
He tried to flee the country and his bond was only $500K? And Hong Kong of all places?
Why did snowden go to hong Kong to expose the NSA? Because hong Kong is not controlled by the usa , and now there is no extradition arrangement because the USA cancelled it to protect the rioters.
Any diversity. Why do these people get to open businesses , when generational Americans can’t afford it?
Why would they give him bail
Seriously 😲
He had a $500,000.00 in cash ✝️🇺🇸😲😲😲😲😲
That's Odd 😡
Naw, he had 50,000 in assets he could sign over to a Bond Company as collateral.
Half a Million wow
Damages are in the millions and how much is a 19 yr olds life worth????
I am pretty sure now that the judges are embezzling that money.
One Way Ticket to Hong Kong sounds like an 80's Kung Fu flick lol
Kin folk said Jed move away from there 🤠😞
You will never see him again
Oh dear. I do worry about that.
Sad
These judges are the problem in this country
He attempts to flee so you let him bond out...ahhh yes, sensible.

Has anyone ever heard of a legitimate use of a one-way ticket? Literally, every case of fleeing has used that attempt.
To be fair I used to travel last minute pretty frequently on one way tickets for Business. Never knew if or when I would be flying home or if I might be flying somewhere else before going home. (Most of my heavy travel was before 9/11)
Although I ALWAYS had a round trip ticket when leaving the country.
I'm amazed he is still in the country. I thought he left days after the explosion, especially since someone died
due to his negligence and greed...
He has proven he is a flight risk! He won’t be back to court.

So it's illegal to store them. What are use for?
Cool, now it's slightly harder for him to leave the country. Getting on a plane is one thing (Because of Airspace Security) but you can just walk or drive out of America, no one cares ....
that is not what the fire chief said
Posted mail means money or other goods. One of the many ways the city gets their slice.
Wow! He posted a half million dollar bond !
Why would they give him bond?
Why fleeing to Hong Kong???
No visa required.
Gave him bail…?
The guy's gonna go to South America first, then fly out of the country. Probably paid the judge. Love American injustice system.
Hes gone.....
Don't you get tired of being wrong
Who paid his bail? Follow the money.
this is a mess. they're trying to pin arson on him but they're not even investigating the site. they're clearly planning to cook the books against the owner. I'd be getting the hell out of town too. although not to Hong Kong, I already did that 20 years ago.
I doubt if anything happens to him
I think there's more to this story and more charges .
Trying to leave the country. I would have put a million bucks on that bet... They didn't take his passport from the beginning???
One Word "DUH!"
Ridiculous they let him go again. Can't be any stupider.
If they haven’t decided if it was arson and don’t have evidence he started it, how are they charging him with anything? Am I missing something?
He had no legal right to store all those explosives in his building. You have to have special permits and
safety mesures to do so.. He totally disregarded the laws, therefore causing someone's death and millions
of dollars of toxic mess... I live a mile from it...
@@jenscheibner792 AAAAAH! Now I fully understand. Thank you for the clarification. I knew I had to have not had enough info.
What was he going to do when he got there?
HK has no extradition treaty with the US. The US canceled it three years ago so escaping to HK was a very smart move
He is a flight risk, why would you let him out?
31 years old, he looks 45.
He hadn't been charged he was free to travel. They don't even know how the fire started and there were many other workers in the place during the fire but no mention of him being there. Why are we charging him with no facts known yet? But of course, gullible YT comments assume he's guilty just because he's on the news. It's all good until someone you care about is falsely charged then its "it's a two tier justice system".
“JAMES!”
so he posted "a half million *cash* " or just a fraction of that?
Electrical equipment just doesn't explode while it isnt energized. There was something in there that shouldn't have been there.
Sound like ccp.
Ignorant comment.
Things really don't add up with what is being reported. A smoke shop storing butane and nitrous oxide blew up, so far no evidence it was on purpose, the township had done an inspection a few months before and found nothing wrong. So why would he be a wanted man in the first place or even a suspect if things weren't wrong. What changed? What evidence do they have that he in fact committed a crime. Its great that everyone jumps on board to have him arrested; however, where is the evidence that proves he had committed a crime in the first place. And telling me fleeing is guilty....no it is not. Example, I go on road trips all the time for business, I buy a one way ticket to Taiwan, the from there I go to Tokyo, etc. So do you know for sure he wasn't on a road trip for business? Apparently he is one of three owners to the property that blew up. Person killed was a random person half a mile away hit by debris from the explosion. Plenty of devils advocate here. Need more info on what really happened before you can determine his guilt or not. Why would he blow it up if he could post in cash a half million dollar bond? Obviously not hurting for money. Lots of questions before you blame someone for a crime.
I feel like our own overseers are destroying thus country now blaming others. So many stories don't add up!
Got you!
Gee, I wonder why he was trying to flee to China. What, could, possibly, be, the link between the 2
bro everyone knows you dont buy 1 way tickets when you trying to leave, it automatically gets you flagged whether on this side, or the other. you buy a 2 way and just miss the second flight bro. rookie mistake
He DID GET AWAY!!! FOOLS!!!
Shameful justice system. He should never see the light of day again.
It's legal system, not justice system. I used to call it "justice system" and someone corrected me that it's "legal system". And because it's a legal system, money is above everything.
Thanks Joe and your open border
Never go ro the airport with a one way ticket
Someone is dead, and he has an ankle monitor.
Oh, he's not a flight risk, although he was just trying to flee 🤔
Wanna get away?
Must have been headed to his Vape and canister suppliers' place to evade the law.
Mister Arson?
Stop paying taxes……it’s over
So he blew his own place up for insurance money and killed someone and tried to flee ? Thats what it looks like
Insurance arson.
A GPS Tracker and Passport is a flat out joke!
All he has to do is cut the bracelet off , and have a similar looking passport and off to an international border he goes.
Its really not that hard unless they have constant visual surveillance even then it's still possibly.
So now it's going to cost him 50k, he cuts off the ankle monitor and drives to mexico....did that happen already?
So its just up in the air who started it , no smoking gun and cause he owns the building and flying debris caused by explosion gets him manslaughter? He sure looks guilty now but i mean three months no idea cause of fire and saying they can't exclude it might have been started by a human so they are saying they can't prove it was. They did not wait to charge him this seems rough at best and does his culpability rely on insurance fraud being proven or does it slam dunk the other way. That 19 year old deserves justice. What went on with this investigation.
Even if the fire was Intentional or not he stored illegally those canisters in his property, so he is liable.
Facial Recognition is Everywhere. Brave new world.
That's not on the news...
