“Put yourself on the list too.” Kids need to see that their mother has needs, hobbies, and desires too.
Currently watching at 2am in the morning while nursing my newborn and listening to my toddler cry, so I fit into the category of exhausted mommy, and could use all the tips!
Thinking of you momma! You've got this🙌 I hope you got some rest❤️
oh bless.... hugs to you momma.
Hang in there momma! We have all been there, give yourself grace.
You got this!!
Your not alone
I’m at work now and have a three year old toddler to care for in the morning ugh
It’s just seasonal ❤
Look-if you have time for yourself god knows we can all make time! 8 kids, happy marriage, hobby farm with multiple animals-and she’s gorgeous every day and so positive. Angie I know you’re doing something right 💛
Yeah because CZcams is so realistic
Something’s gotta give.
One hundred percent you’re right that she’s such an inspiration! Just a gentle reminder though that I’m sure Angie has days where she’s not “gorgeous” in the all dolled up sense too. And, everyone has days where they may feel less positive. Just like the rest of us. ❤️ just want to take some of the pressure off that is so easy for us to put on.
"Being a mother isn't a death sentence." 🙌🙌🙌
@Pretti Pati not everyone has the same life and we are all on a journey..
@Pretti Pati ♡yes i agree... i havent had a easy time of it since I became a Momma 4yrs ago. Life hurts and is SO hard at times... but my children are my life and they literally keep my heart in one piece. ♡It's all about perpective and the condition of your heart and the choice of attitude and outlook as to whether children are a burden or not. It's a honour to be a Momma. I waited for years to get to be one. became one at 29yrs old♡ still cant believe Im getting to be one!! ♡♡
@@emilyschlotte5914 She is making cash out of blowing her own trumpet, does she look tired to you ??????????????
@@irenemorley75 it would be strange for her to walk around public showing everyone how tired she is lol
@Pretti Pati well as a mother of 3, I had my first son at 17 and I missed out on my childhood and I can understand parents who act a little dramatic sometimes it doesn't mean they are over parenting he or she is probably super exhausted and needing time for themselves so they can come back on a positive note.
Getting outside really is a game changer. I live in a four seasons climate and in the dead of winter I am going outside every single day. Invest in quality clothes that make bearable is key. This is great!
Being outside SAVED me during the newborn stage with my second my toddler could play and I could sit in the shade and nurse baby and it brought so much calm and peace!!
Running is my self care - as a strong introvert homeschooling four littles, it is mental health just as much if not more than physical health. I do love getting in a few runs a week solo - but have so enjoyed sharing my passion for running with my kids! My three oldest started cross country last fall and are able to run up to 3 miles with me! We throw the 4 year old on her bike and enjoy outdoor movement together! I love running but sharing this with my kids has only deepened that.
Thank you for the reminder. I am a first time mom (baby is only 8 mos old) and because of the exhaustion i felt like I have lost me. I don't even have time to take a bubble bath which prior to being pregnant I enjoyed very much. I love getting ready too but i haven't had the chance to put makeup as well. I felt so drab haha. I hope when my baby gets a little bigger and I am not needed 24/7, I would be able to find me again. 🤞
Angela, thank you so much for this reminder. I was literally just sharing with my husband earlier this evening that in recent weeks I have felt overwhelmed, stressed, run down and that it is stealing my joy and affecting our entire home including my kids' attitudes. This was such a timely message for me to hear. Thank you for creating a space on CZcams that is real but also full of encouragement, positivity, and joy.
"Be nice to myself" .... so need to agree to doing this. Thank you!
Hey Lady. Mom of 9 here. Getting outside and working my garden is my numba one! Shabbat Shalom 🌿 My day of rest and I am so grateful Yah put it in place to Rest in His presence. May Yah bless you and your beautiful family❤️
❤️
Super hero! May God bless and preserve you and your family ❤️❤️🙏🏼
Happy Sabbath ! I keep the Sabbath (Saturday) too! Blessed Holy Day of rest!
Amen, God put the sabbath day for a reason ✝️💕🕊
Yes! Sleep is so important! Fighting for sleep even letting go of other things for a healthy amount of sleep!
“It’s putting yourself on the list too.”Brilliant.
I’m currently laying in bed with a back injury. This was so uplifting and encouraging 💐
Two great books that go so well with this message from Angela are "Hidden Art" by Edith Schaffer and "Mother Culture" by Karen Andreola. Good stuff! :)
Mom of six! And you are spot on. Shabbat Shalom!
Oh Angela, “you’re a mother not a martyr”. 👏 Thank you. I needed that.
There’s not a Mom out there that can’t benefit from taking this advice! Thank you! Xoxo 💜
Phew! Please will you do a video on "Asking for Help" ... it's so hard to do... maybe get some feedback from others on areas of needed help or resources that can help if you're secluded?
It's been so hard to learn to ask or learn to let people help me. I grew up being taught to be tough and "no pain no gain" and our family didn't share our trials with others either. I have health problems that make my endurance and energy low... so it's also hard to validate asking for help as I just wish I could do what other "normal" moms are capable of doing.
One area that has been a huge blessing though and hasn't been challenging to accept is freezer meals.
No one has to know about the awful day or suddenly drop what they are doing to come help... or come into my mess during family sickness... the meals are there to help when those days arrive. So helpful. ❤
I need to start small like brushing my hair everyday. Sad but true. I received a gift certificate to a nail salon about 2 years ago and it it expired in my wallet. I see homeschooling mom videos and their makeups done, their clothes are nice and matching and their hair is in a style. I need to start there, with that as a goal. Make it a point to at least feel put together everyday even if everything else is falling apart.
🙏 Amen. With ya girl. Hope your self care routine has helped!
"Unpucker"...... I will never forget this, lol!!!! Yeah, I might need to do some of that......😅
Your videos have been so perfectly timed lately. I love watching your videos and they are so encouraging and helpful. Thank you, Angela
Favorite line “Go outside and sit!” Thanks for this permission!
Maybe a video about tips for actually asking for help or getting people to watch the kids so a mom can get out of the house to do something. I know several women who are sahms who have no one to watch their kids. An example: a friend has 3 toddlers and a baby, her husband works 2 jobs and is gone a lot and her mom and sisters say to her "you chose this life, you wanted to stay home with your kids so stay home." Her mom has told her she would have more time to herself if she worked outside the home and the kids were in daycare or they had a nanny. I literally have not seen her without her children in 3 years because she never gets a break.
Love this! We bought a 2 acre property last august and my self care is my chickens ❤️ I love them! I have 2 incubators that I hatch chicks in and sell my eggs- something that brings me joy and I love it! We have 4 kids and homeschool also! Love following you and your family!!!
Subbed. You're a queen.
Can’t even begin to express how much I needed this video! I am 11 weeks post party with my 4th child and I’ve never felt more exhausted/ run down. Thank you so much 🤍🤍
My fourth is 10months old and I haven't felt like 'me' for years. Can't even remember the last time. Now I'm just feeling exhausted all the time(I joke and say exhaustion is now part of my personality😂). It's tough.
LOVING this tips series, you’re amazing
Loved your video, Angela! ❤️ It's so so true, it's not the burden that breaks us, but the way we carry it! Going outside always helps elevate the mood. Thank you for sharing your tips 💜
Great video! I feel like these are realistic and not pressuring to do everything perfectly! Thanks Angela!
You always have great advice and encouragement. I agree the narrative is telling our children they are a burden and truly they are NOT.
Thank you for sharing. There is so much good advice in here. I think it cannot be said enough for moms who are going through a tough time. Especially when we feel guilty from trying to balance life and work we tend to put ourselves last. I especially love the advice to rediscover hobbies and starting off small. Little things make such a different and good evidence for us to know that the world doesn't fall apart just because we gave ourselves 30 mins time out. Recharging ourselves through self care sets a better tone for the rest of the day.
I have an addition to the list. If your a believer, then spending quiet time with the Lord should be first on the list. Letting him refill our cup. We get our peace from abiding in Christ not from the world around us. 🙏
In college I started saying “I need to breathe the wild air!” Whenever I got stressed out…I think I need to bring that back.
These tips are excellent. My brain is toast so I took notes. I love your approach to momming, I come from a similar attitude. One part that really resonated with me was the bit about how social media makes motherhood look horrible. I have removed myself from social media because I value my sanity lol, but while I was there I did notice that I saw very few positive things about motherhood. The sarcasm and day drinking really bothered me, I guess because I grew up neglected and I feel like keeping your children is a choice and it’s okay to commit fully to it for the time they’re growing up. All those sweet kiddos are going to grow up and see their parents’ sarcastic posts online and maybe feel undervalued. Gosh I’m sorry, I digress! So sleepy 🤣 thank you for your optimistic content, it is so much more helpful to me personally than commiserating without pulling each other up!
Hi! Thank you for this video. With 4 kids ages 2-6 yrs, I struggle with this. Great ideas and ways of thinking about self care. I normally hear, as you said, more bubble baths and manicures! Well, I do not like baths. And, as much as I struggle with this, but totally agree, sleep is the magic elixir of life! Thanks again for your really great perspective on self care and the time you took to make this video!
Thank you Angela! I needed to hear all this! 💓
I love this! I am new to your channel and am OBSESSED. Truly feel like we are one in the same with our views on motherhood and life.
Watching at 5am while nursing and praying my kids go back to sleep im sooooo exhausted and looking for ways to do self care so I don’t fall into a depression as it’s easy to lose yourself in motherhood
I needed this video. I need a new hairstyle as a first step to taking care of myself. Would you please make a video showing how you style your hair in this video. It’s beautiful!
Thank you!! I needed to hear this. Love your soap box talk! It’s good!!! Preach Mama!
So good, thanks for the reminders to care for myself as well as my family. Putting myself on the list!
Great video Angela 💓 Love your positive and helpful content every time 🥰
Why do I always hop on here and as I listen.... wish you lived on the farm next to ours?!?🤣 Amen to slower paced farm livin' and family raisin'!
I really appreciate this video! I'm so grateful you laid that out. I've wondered what the middle (if there was one) was of self care. Thank You!
Now that I have watched the video... I can comment on the content of it.
I am not a mother, but I am the type of person to put a lot on my plate, I work full time while studying full time (law and psychology). I have been trying to include more self care, so after watching this video i decided to take my study outside and sit at a table outside of my apartment near the pool to read some studies.
This was so helpful! I needed to hear all of this. Thank you so much!
Love all these tips! And totally agree with your take on self-care. It shouldn’t be a selfish, entitled thing that wrecks your day when it’s interrupted or doesn’t happen, but we do need to take care of ourselves because motherhood is important, and because we matter. How we do motherhood matters and our families need us to take care of ourselves. And an attitude of martyrdom is not helpful or healthy for anyone.
Well said!! 💕
This could not come at a better time. Tested positive to Covid and feeling buried alive right now. Thank you for you all and your content. After all these years you are still my favorite channel. God bless and take care.
Watch a lot of your videos. This look is so fresh and really looks great for you. ❤
Love the tips- especially the one about managing my expectations.
Love hearing these words ❤️
I’m very happy that you are a mom to your kids
This video was so helpful! I'm not even a mom, I'm just completely overworked and burnt out.
I loved this. Thank you for speaking to my heart.
Angela ❤ I love this video and your positivity thank you 🙏
❤Thank you so much for the truth and experience that you share here. I really needed it... *tearful smile*
Another great video !! I agree with every word you said 💖
Love being outside!! Very much believe in some sun!! So good for you!!
Love love your tips for an exhausted mama like me! I have only 1 child only but its not exactly a walk in the park either.
So much great advice! ❤️
Love it ! Spoke to me more then most , especially the daughter comment
This is so good for all of us to hear!
Thank you ❤️ such good advice
Thank you for the reminder. I really struggle to ask for time for me and feel guilty if I do have some time to myself.
Wow! This video felt like an actual human being was on the other side! Thank you so much
Such great points! Especially asking for help. We have a rotating chore chart. If you don’t expect your kids to help, then they are missing out on life skills that they will later need. It’s selfish not to ask for help
Would love a video on what prioritizing sleep looked like for you 🙌
I can’t thank you enough for this video! Timing is perfect. It’s my one day KID FREE and I was about to spend it in bed. Now I’m gonna get the hell outside! Also love fab fit fun. Been subscribed to their boxes for I think 3 years now! Lol.
such great advice !
Oh how curious! I did exactly one of your examples - I took up my painting again and did an online course in oil portraiture!!
Think ur doing all kinds of goods for us mums all around! X
This reminds me so much of Allie Beth Stuckey’s book: You Are Not Enough and that’s OK. Highly recommend to new moms and I think it’s what Angie here was trying to say about some of the toxic self care we see today, Allie takes a deep dive in a very easy to read way
Watching AB is my self ❤ care ......cause I just like your "girlfriend talk" of all kinds of different flavors.
FFF is my favorite!!
You are basically my life coach
Good stuff 🤩
self care.... ok! buying your book!
Lol when you said don’t come through the screen I KNEW you were going to say get more sleep!!😂😂 I get so little sleep right now and I know this will pass- but I am SO tired. Lol anyway this was a great video that I was actually avoiding watching because I know I needed to hear all this. So thanks for making a *realistic* self- care video that I can relate to and I can easily implement some of your ideas into my life. Thank you!!
🇿🇦😘 Love your channel, thank you for the motivation
Many thanks from a tired mom for this video! Listening to it was my treat for today)
REALLY, ??????????????????
I totally agree Maryana 👍 Ive left the kids with my husband and am sitting on my bed with a cup of tea and really enjoyed watching this video. Self care right there🙌 Brilliant positive tips once again 💓
Yeah, if you make sure that you prioritize your family first, when you take time to do what you're passionate about helps them see the wonder of creation and how God made us all with unique and beautiful qualities. Including encouraging the kids to find their passions and joys.
Thank you for this video. I needed to hear that. I always feel that I am selfish when I do something for myself so I don’t really do much.
But finally I booked an appointment to hairdresser after 3 years! 😅👍🏻🙈💓
u won't be believe I am alway thinking motherhood is a life sentence......Thank u for ur tips dear.
I love how you curl your hair. Im curious as to how you get those curls
I'd LOVE you to do a whole video of the benefits of sleep! Please!!! 🥰 I enjoy your videos!
Listening to you is some self care😃
Something that I find easy to do for myself is making a cup of coffee or tea at least once a day.
I’d love a hair tutorial for your hair in this video.
What is the fishing subscription that your husband has?? My husband would love something like that.
So helpful tips with 3 kids 4 and under.
I know this is not a favorites video but, WHAT is this gorgeous lipstick??
Sending much love and sunshine from Austria.
Agree with sleeping 💤 my favorite. My children go to bed early because of school on weekdays, I try to be in bed one hour later then my kids. We need to recharge ☺️
Hi Angela☺️
I love Anastasia Beverly Bills… she is my favourite Romanian woman entrepreneur! I just love her like a person and Her daughter and her products!
How do I go outside in the Canadian winter?… any tips, help!,,,,,,😮
Dang this was good.
I’ll have to get myself a lounger and lay in it at the end of the day I’d probably sleep outside also and just put my feet up and relax ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Bring back the podcast! 😛
Me, a childfree aunt, watching this before having my niece over for 10 days as I'm already exhausted at the thought of being in the mom role for 10 days🤣
That’s great that her mom has you to watch her! That’s a big blessing
I think I have a pretty good routine, but yes I get tired!!
